Summer fun on the lake - great for 2 families or 3 couples - newly remodeled

We are Booking Summer Season 2026 Rentals as per our availability on our calendar
Winter 2025-26 is NOT available.

Summer rentals require a 5 night minimum with Friday/Saturday or Sunday check in/out. If you require midweek, or longer than one week stays, arriving or departing midweek, please message us. Sometimes we can accommodate.

Our house now has a newly renovated water front area including lakeside fire-pit patio, hot tub, and overall better stairs/ access to the lake from the house and the house from parking.

4 bedroom, 2 bath with serene water and mountain views. Split living plan provides common areas for the adults upstairs and children downstairs. Our house has 125' of lakefront

NOTE - many rental homes near us hide the fact that they only have lake access, they are NOT on the lake. If you want to enjoy your morning coffee, evening drinks, s'mores in a lakeside fire, and launching our included water toys, nothing, beats a lake house!

Location is 3 Miles to Okemo's base area and 12 miles to the Killington Skyship Gondola

The main level offers a comfortable gathering space for meals or to kick up your feet in on the deck watching the lake or in front of the stone gas fireplace. Downstairs game room is perfect to indulge in family fun or just watch TV. Located on a quiet country lane, convenient to route 100, Our house is a charming property to enjoy with family & friends during any season!

The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Three bedrooms have a queen bed, the fourth has two sets of built in bunk beds(sleeps 4). Upper level bathroom is a full tub w/shower, lower level shower only. Den has a queen sofabed. Note that the house actually sleeps 12, but we think 10 is the maximum size and offers flexibility.

Newly renovated kitchen thoughtfully stocked for ease of cooking and eating.

Outdoor amenities include gas BBQ, Lakeside firepit, kayaks (3), Paddleboards (3), paddle boat, and Sunfish sailboat. Indoor amenities are spacious kitchen, fireplace, new comfortable beds & bedding, entire house newly furnished.

Fantastic Stay

My family had a wonderful time at this lake house, the property was updated, clean and cozy, we had plenty of space for the whole family. The location is ideal close to downtown, we had the perfect vacation!

Great Stay

The property was a great place to relax and let kids run free. We all enjoyed the watercrafts and hot tub. Location was perfect for peaceful nights and a little trip to Bromley nearby.

Beautiful lake house

Great spot on lake rescue. Beautiful view, very clean and comfortable. Our family had a fantastic time enjoying the boats and the fire place/patio by the lake. Scott is extremely helpful and responsive. Would stay again.

Great Stay

Great view. Home is laid out nicely with plenty of activities. Games and puzzles for rainy days and made great use of the kayaks and paddle boards. Great communication with Scott before and throughout the week.

A real gem

Great Time

Place and location are amazing. Still a bit too cold to enjoy all the water toys, but we plan to go back in the summer. Perfect location on the water, near town, skiing, biking and hiking trails. House is clean and fully stocked to cook, eat and/or just hang out. Felt like home!

Great location and amazing house

The house was very nice, much nicer than others I have rented. It was great to go to a place where I needed nothing but my personal belongings and clothes. The kitchen was fully stocked and great to cook in. The house is super close to the mountain. Scott and Jill were extremely helpful and everything went smoothly. Overall it was a great trip!

Beautiful lake house. We were 4 adults, 4 teens and we had an incredible stay. The home is clean, comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. On hot days, we were very grateful for the AC. We loved the outdoors - from the views from the upper deck, cornhole, and one of the best fire pits to easy access to the lake from the dock. The kayaks and SUP boards are a bonus - and our gang swam and fished. Lots of hiking nearby and also convenient to groceries and town. Scott was super helpful and professional with all communications. He made sure we had everything we needed. All in all, a fabulous time had by all and we hope to return in the future.

Great experience!

We had a really fantastic weekend in Vermont. The house was even better than the pics, as cooks we really had everything we needed in the kitchen and we were a quick drive to Jackson Gore side of Okemo without having to deal with parking lines at the main base or driving through town traffic to start the day. Scott and Jill were really helpful in our prestay planning and clearly put a lot of thought and care into this house. Hope to find a week to come back and enjoy the lake in the summer.

Fantastic Vermont getaway

This is an awesome place! Minutes; from Okemo and about 30 minutes from Killington. Spectacular location right on beautiful lake rescue. Rustic yet, modern decor and plenty of room for the whole family. Would be fantastic in the summer as well with a dock and a Lakeside fire pit to enjoy the lake and its spectacular views. Those views can also be enjoyed while eating breakfast on the giant dining room table. Host has vast knowledge about things to do in the area and was extremely responsive to any questions. Highly recommended!

great location and host

The house was VERY nice, lots of water front activities provided, house had everything we needed. Fire pit by the water, awesome deck to hang out on and watch the loons. Host had GREAT communication and was so helpful with everything. ONLY thing I would note is the path to the water was rugged. not normally a problem unless you have any issues on uneven ground. We took a broom and swept pine needles off the path and that helped a lot, but the stairs and railing were challenging could be challenging for elderly folks. over all really great place, and host, and price. Thank you!!!!

Great Memories in a Beautiful Setting

The house and the surrounding scenery are wonderful. There is plenty of seating in the family room and at the dinning room table. The kitchen is well appointed with new appliances including a dish washer (thank you!). Scott & Jill did a great job setting the house up and considering guest needs. Outside there are plenty of chairs for the deck and near the lake. We enjoyed the fire pit by the lake. The lake is quiet with very clean water and lots of wildlife to appreciate (ducks, loons, deer). The first night we were blessed by a bald eagle sitting in the pine tree on the island in front of the house and on several other occasions we saw it flying over the lake. The combination of the house and the setting make for a wonderful place to stay.

Great Lake Rescue Escape

We loved our time at “Camp Hoff” and will definitely be back! The house is as pictured and described; recently renovated and fully stocked with hug quality towels, sheets, kitchen supplies. Our family of four enjoyed some time there just the four of us and with a group as large as 10 (6adults and 4 kids). The bunk room was a big hit with the kids was the downstairs family room. Location is great for any season. We skied at Okemo and it’s a quick 5min or so drive to the Jackson Gore base. Beautiful view of Lake Rescue, which we enjoyed from the hot tub and fire pit. We’ve also visited in the fall and got lucky with weather and were able to paddle around the lake. The owner is quick to respond, flexible and easy to communicate with. His family uses the house often and it’s clear he wants everyone who rents the house to have a great experience.

Amazing Vermont Lake House

We had an amazing time at Scott's property. The house is clean and has a great layout for hanging out, cooking, etc. The outside is even better, with a beautiful fire pit, a dock onto the lake, and plenty of watercraft (kayaks, canoes, pedal boat) to take out on the lake. Ludlow is right down the road, too. This place has everything :)

Hoff Haus is awesome

Gorgeous and amazing location

The chalet is just beautiful. Beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout the whole place. Location on the lake makes it feel like a peaceful place at all times, and drive to Okemo was only 7 minutes. Scott was a great host - super responsive and gave tons of details and tips both about the area and regarding skiing. It is a rare find.

Another amazing stay

We have now stayed at the lake house several times and it never disappoints! The house is big enough for our multi family group and the location can’t be beat. The lake is beautiful and there are lots of water craft available. We also enjoyed exploring all the area has to offer with hiking and delicious food options. The kitchen is well equipped and we ate most of our meals at home. We would definitely love to stay at the lake house again on our next Vermont trip!

Perfect Family Vacation

The house is beautiful, comfortable and cozy. It was perfect for five adults and two children. Location is spectacular. We took full advantage of the kayaks, paddle boards and pedalboat. The host, Scott, is the most responsive and accommodating host I have encountered. Everyone agreed we want to return to this bit of paradise.

Another amazing stay

This was our second visit to the lake house, and we were thrilled to be back. Scott and Jill's place is a perfect spot if you are looking for some peaceful relaxation. The setting is UNREAL - you wake up every morning and have a full view of the lake right there. We loved relaxing on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning (or a beer in the afternoon), but on cold or rainy days, having floor to ceiling windows still provided us with serene views and helped to not feel "cooped up." On cooler nights, we dimmed the lights, made a fire in the fireplace, and cozied up on the super comfortable couch. This house is also ideal for some fun too! We kayaked, went on the pedal boat with our little kiddos, played foosball/board games/Cornhole, and did puzzles on rainy days. We also went on some great hikes and runs. Scott and Jill's place is in a perfect location - you feel remote, but are a very short car ride to Okemo and downtown Ludlow, as well as Camp Plymouth (which has a "beach" and a pretty awesome playground for the kids). Scott and Jill's place is also stocked with absolutely everything you need - towels, bedding, kitchen supplies, so makes it super convenient for families. We love this place, and will 100% come back again in the future!

Great family vacation!

Our kids had a wonderful time in the lake while using the paddle boards, kayaks and paddle boat! We enjoyed the property both inside and out! The house is clean, well equipped, and in a perfect location. Scott was extremely accommodating and a pleasure to work with. I strongly recommend this property to anyone that is looking for the perfect getaway!

This place is MAGICAL.

Scott and Jill’s house is RIGHT on the lake. We know that many houses in the area are advertised as “lake houses” because they have views, or partial views, of the lake; this house is really on top of the lake, and that made a huge difference for us. The views are incredible, and pictures really don’t do it justice. The house itself is laid out perfectly, and is really great for families. The main floor is open-concept, so we were able to all be together while cooking, watching TV, or hanging out on the deck. However, the downstairs has a living space (with another large TV) and three more bedrooms, so we could all have some space as well. The house was renovated recently, and is tastefully decorated while being functional. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with everything one would need. We also loved using the gas grill on the deck. There were also plenty of towels and extra linens for our family of four (and beach towels if you are here in the summer). The deck was much larger than we expected, and the kids were able to play on the deck while the adults enjoyed a drink on the outdoor couch. There is plenty to do here for everyone in the family. There are kayaks, paddleboards, and a pedal boat (which our three-year old LOVED), a foosball table, corn hole toss (or bags, if you’re from Chicago), and tons of board games. Cell reception/Wi-Fi is great, so you are able to WFH here if need be. Okemo and “downtown” Ludlow are a short drive away. A lot of restaurants in Ludlow are still doing curbside pick-up, and the closest grocery chain (Shaw’s) will deliver to the house via Instacart, making this a super convenient, and beautiful, way to isolate. The owners are extremely accommodating and were super communicative both prior to and during the trip if we had any questions. They gave some great recommendations for restaurants, hikes, and kid-friendly places for us to take our young children to. This house is really perfect for any season. When the weather was warm, we were able to open all of the many windows and turn on the ceiling fans to get a good breeze going through the house. When it got colder, the house was SO cozy, and we dimmed the lights, lit a fire in the fireplace, and used the super warm blankets while relaxing on the couch. This was definitely one of the best places we have ever stayed, and we would come back in a heartbeat.

Scott & Jill both enjoy living an active lifestyle that we share with our 5 children, ages 20 - 26. With kids moving off to and out of college and the ability to work remotely, we searched for a home where we could enjoy the outdoors in all seasons. We live an active lifestyle, ski, snowshoe, hike, kayak, SUP, bike, train for triathlon and enjoy the Green Mountains of Vermont year round.

Why they chose this property

Our home is not just our getaway, but the place our children will continue to visit as they go off to college and beyond. We have children that are hard core skiers, snowboarders and die hard water sports enthusiasts, so we build memories together in this house and hope that our guests will share the the same experience with their families.

What makes this property unique

There is nothing like waking up on a lake and sitting on the deck with coffee/tea in hand. Or enjoying the winter view through the wall of windows facing the lake. Time on the lake in all seasons stops and brings people together like nowhere else.

This home is a lakefront property with over 125' of frontage on Lake Rescue and a killer fire pit right on the lake. Some properties that compete with us hide that they are actually lake access and not on the lake. There is a tremendous feeling of being away when you sit on our deck, dock or around our fire pit, overlooking the lake and becoming at one with your surroundings.
