This is our second home that is very special and dear to us and we are happy to share it with you. I was born and raised in Colorado and have lived in the Seattle area for almost 20 years with my husband and 2 children.
Why Jane chose Island County
We love living in the Pacific Northwest! It has so much to offer with so many places to explore. Our home is beachfront, just about 60 feet from the back of the house to the water's edge. It's a popular spot for fishing for salmon when they come in to spawn. Coupeville holds a very special place in my heart as there is so much to see and do! Our favorite hike is The Bluff at Ebey's Landing on a bright sunny day where you have incredible endless views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It's about a 4-4.5 mile loop. Work your way down to the beach and listen to the calming waves. Explore neighboring Fort Casey and the Admiralty Lighthouse! The Keystone Ferry is 2 miles away so bring your bike or your walking shoes, catch the ferry to Port Townsend and spend the day exploring in-town. Check out Fort Worden where the movie "An Officer and a Gentleman" was filmed in the early 1980's. End your day at our cottage watching the sunsets, seals, porpoises and fish jump. Or drive 10-15 minutes into downtown Coupeville for dinner and enjoy eating the fresh and famous Penn Cove mussels.
What makes this House unique
This is a waterfront beach cottage, just steps out to Admiralty Bay. Gaze at the views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains with a glass of wine and let your worries melt away as you hear the waves gently crashing onto the beach. It is the perfect location for a bike ride to the Port Townsend ferry, Fort Casey, the Admiralty Lighthouse or even to the town of Coupeville. You will have everything you need at your fingertips. Just bring a change of clothes, your bike, ingredients for your meals (if you wish to cook) and you and your loved ones. You won't want to leave!
