The Cider House, formerly Foggy Ridge Cider's award winning production facility, is now available as a newly renovated sleek modern vacation rental less than 25 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, music in Floyd, VA, and area wineries. The large airy King Bedroom has a contemporary four poster bed. A carpeted bunk bed bedroom sleeps two. The main living area, the former fermentation room for the cidery, is a modern urban-inspired open space with new full service kitchen, seating area with TV (for playing movies from your laptop) and dining area that seats four. The former crush pad has a gas grill and an open outdoor high top dining and sofa seating areas. This unique property is next to one of Foggy Ridge Cider's heirloom cider apple orchards, a short walk to Laurel Fork Creek, a stocked trout stream, and near Floyd Fest, the Hillsville Flea Markets, Yoga Jam, Primland, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the town of Floyd, VA. Verizon cell service is the best connection in the area though most of the county is covered by other providers. Internet connection is available through your cell service hot spot in this rural location.

Amazing Stay

This place is a 10/10, beautiful cider house. The host was very communicative, as the power was out the night before. The host worked diligently to keep me updated and everything worked out! It was raining during our stay but it was a nice get away and very cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be back! Thanks.

Quiet weekend getaway

The Cider House was tucked away in a private area with beautiful views of the orchard. Location is close to Chateau Morrisette Winery, so we visited there to enjoy lunch. Will stay again!

Remote getaway

My partner and I loved the privacy of this location, and how little light and sound pollution there was! It was very cold in December while we were there, but there were blankets for us to use, and the bed was incredible comfortable. A wonderful stay!

Wonderful getaway weekend in Virginia Wine Country

Absolutely loved this Vrbo! Communication with the owner and non-contact access was a breeze (we checked in late at night without any problems). The location was well-stocked with everything you needed. We found the king bed very comfortable and loved the bathroom towels (felt like we were in a hotel with extra shampoo/conditioner/makeup hand towels). We did not cook but the kitchen had all the things you would need. Since we went just before Thanksgiving, it was chilly, but the heat worked well, and we were comfortable there. There were maps of the apple orchard walking trails which we did not get to use (we went hiking elsewhere nearby). We loved the proximity to the local wineries. We will definitely have to come back. It was a perfect getaway weekend spot. I highly recommend!

Relaxing Getaway

My husband and I went for weekend getaway and it was the perfect spot. Cider house was comfy and clean. We were fortunate to go during perfect weather and was able to open the garage to let the outside in, which was our favorite part. I'd advise to bring slippers as the floors do get cold. Was a wonderful stay, we will be back and highly recommend.

Fantastic Getaway

We loved Diane and Chuck’s place! It was serene and peaceful with cows grazing across the small country road. Diane was very responsive the multiple times I reached out. We loved the apple orchards…the apples were delicious. You can’t beat the stars at night. I loved being off the grid and it was a great time of family connection for us and our teenage boys. So glad there was no internet!

Country wonder. Loved the apple orchards.

This is a unique property in a very special location. It is remote but well worth the effort to get there. A perfect place for reflection in a very well-appointed property. I would highly recommend making the effort to explore this area. We took a walk at dusk in the orchard and were greeted by several deer who were looking for apple drops. So picturesque. Lovely hiking trails on the property. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Great getaway spot!

This place is immaculate and so comfy! The outdoor space is perfect, just wish we'd had more time to spend doing nothing. The nearby town of Floyd is a must see quaint little town with the coolest vibe! Definitely would love to visit again.

Fabulous Mountain Retreat

The Cider House is a unique, exceptional property with incredible views. Very quiet, convenient to many local attractions. Our host, Diane, was very helpful with directions and suggestions of things to do. Great place to hike, bike, sightsee or just kick back and enjoy the beautifully appointed cottage.

Perfect getaway

We came to the area to attend FloydFest and chose to stay a few miles away to provide separation between the festival and our time being together. The house was perfect; cozy but extended so that everyone had their own space. Diane was easy to communicate with, was informative and a great host. We’ll certainly be back!

Amazing stay

We loved our time at the Cider House. Diane has retained its history with a beautiful and comfortable renovation. Bed was comfortable and cabin had everything we needed. The washer and dryer was nice so we could pack light. We sat on the porch in the mornings and evenings, which is mostly shaded, enjoying the view of the apple orchards and wildlife, deers and birds. A black bear did walk right by the cabin on our last morning. We were inside so it was a cool sighting to see one that close. We loved the town of Floyd. All the artisans’ work is incredible and the Red Rooster Cafe has great biscuits and cinnamon buns. We hiked Buffalo Mtn. And Rocky Knob. Both are moderate trails with great views of the Blue Ridge. We hope to return soon!

Perfect stay!
