About Clark Carlton
I am a property manager and owner who lives full time in Los Angeles. My own properties are in beautiful Palm Springs, California. I also book guests for two houses in spectacular Hanalei, Hawaii on the garden island of Kauai. Here in town I manage a guest house in a historic area of Hollywood, a community that is right in the heart of the greater Los Angeles area as well a house in colorful Venice, CA and one near Hancock Park. I also manage several apartment complexes in addition to my work as a writer. All the owners I work for take great pride in the upkeep of their properties and our guests are always surprised to find the house is better then they imagined. Thanks for stopping by.

Why Clark Carlton chose Palm Springs
Beautiful, upscale, quiet area close to the Smoke Tree Shopping Center and just a few minutes drive to downtown Palm Springs. The backyard gets plentiful sunshine and has a view of the mountains that is not available in the foothill neighborhoods of Palm Springs.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
We had a wonderful stay.
The property is very centrally located. The neighbourhood is safe, neighbours are quiet. The grounds and home are very well
Maintained. The kitchen was so well stocked. We enjoyed preparing meals here. Loved the vast selection of stemware! Gave us inspiration to make some yummy beverages to test them all out! Nice and comfortable rooms, beds and furniture in general. Love the fluffy pool towels. A home away from home.
Thanks so much! We'd love to have you back.
Sad To Leave!
This was not our first time and it will not be our last time at Clarke's house (we call it the Palm Springs Palace) and we are bummed it's already booked for March of next year. The neighborhood is super quiet and Tulare Street is away from any busy thoroughfare. The shopping center with the Ralphs and our beloved Smoking' Burger are walking distance and a short drive away is Elmer's for breakfast (get there early -- too popular).
The house itself is as nice as ever and every room features interesting art with some new ones since last time! My mom-in-law took over the "tropical" bedroom and only emerged for meals and to make cookies with the Kitchen-Aid mixer. My wife was impressed with all the kitchen amenities. Since our last visit, owners have updated washer and dryer as well as carpeting and the living room furniture and all the t.v.s are flat screens and every bedroom has one. The backyard is super private and nicely redone since we were here three years ago and we got our daily requirement of Vitamin C from the grapefruit and tangerine trees and then relaxed in the spa after a swim at night. Clarke is always super responsive and checked in with us after our arrival. Sad to leave!
Thanks! Always glad to have you back and look forward to another return.
Although this is a lovely home we found it lacking
The house was safe and conveniently located but upon arrival the garbage cans were overflowing for five days before they were picked up and no plastic bags were provided for our growing garbage. The pool was full of leaves and the surrounding patio was covered with debris so we pulled together and clean for couple hours (not something a vacationer wants to do at this price per day) We also we’re told we needed to do the house laundry even though there was no laundry soap, we ran out of dishwasher soap also, and toilet paper . The owner took the time inform us we didn’t understand the difference between hotels and vacation rentals and that he was not required to provide any necessities. We were warned about laughing too loud that we could be fined $500 , this hung in our minds throughout the stay. The back yard is very small in that you can only really use the one side of the patio around the pool due to the hedge growing out, over the other side. The floors are mostly marble, and extremely slick with wet feet.
We have stayed in other homes in Palm Springs with wonderful experiences.
We love Palm Springs and will stay next year but at this house.
Thom, we are sorry you did not have the best experience at our house but not everything is within our control. Previous guests may have loaded up the trash bins with excess trash, but it is only picked up once a week. If you had informed us of this situation, we would have sent over our housekeeper to take away some trash. As for leaves in the pool and backyard, our yards and the pool are maintained twice a week by a landscaper and pool man. You arrived just after a major storm and before they could do their maintenance. As our listing mentions, this is a vacation rental that rents from 3 nights to 3 months or longer so it is not practical for us to provide supplies, comestibles or in-stay housekeeping services. As a courtesy, we start off all guests with hand soap and toilet paper and a few trash bags for their arrival but they are responsible for all other supplies. I did inform you that we are glad to reimburse our guests for any cleaning or laundry supplies left at the house. No one has ever been fined for laughing too loud at our house but we do remind our guests that this is an area of full time residents and guests must not play music in the backyard and should be respectful of everyone's right to the quiet enjoyment of the premises. I believe we had a few problems due to a language barrier. We wish you a better experience in Palm Springs next time.
Perfect for our family get together.
The house was spacious with all amenities, in an excellent neighbour hood and close to what we needed to enjoy Palm Springs and the surrounding area. The pool and hot tub were very enjoyable, and the house large enough for 8 of us to spend good times together, but also retire to our respective areas for some downtime. The kitchen was well equipped and used extensively, while the dining/living room was great for hanging out. Thanks Clark.
Thank you! Hope to have you back soon.
An oasis in the desert
I can’t imagine a more perfect Palm Springs retreat! We recently stayed in this gorgeous house and were sad to leave it. Not only is it beautifully decorated but it is stocked with everything you need to make your stay feel like home, from the pots & pans in the kitchen to separate towels for the beautiful pool and spa out back. The layout is fabulous; my kids loved having their own bedroom and bathroom. As a bonus, the house is close to the local grocery store and a short drive from downtown. Our family is already thinking about when we can return to Palm Springs to stay here again. Thanks for working so hard to make sure our experience was perfect, Clark!
Thanks so much! We look forward to having you back!
Very relaxing, fun time with Family
The house was perfect for our family Christmas. The pool and hot tub area was so relaxing and where we spent most of our time. We made several meals in the kitchen which was stocked with everything. We watched a ton of football and movies in the TV room which was comfortable for all 7 of us.
Clark was communicative and friendly through out the process. We'd definitely stay here again!
Thanks so much! Love to have you back.
