About Bonnie Todd
Back in the day, we met on the beach. Mary and Daryl Todd have owned the Merivale property since 1985 when their 4 children were youngsters. They grew up on the beaches of Beach Haven and bought the property so their children could experience the same joy and rebirth they did as children. Now that they are grandparents of 13, they love to see their grandchildren picking up the torch for the Island and Beach Haven. There is a special joy that comes with knowing their grandchildren will get out of the car and immediately walk the few steps to the beach and just breath it in. It is the finest gift they can pass on. It is the knowing that they will always be able to return to the shore for healing, growth and revitatlization. Generations of Beach Haven summers go into the beach owners home at Merivale. The house has seen many a storm and stood strong dating back to the 1950's. The owners have a deep respect for the ocean and the beach. Most of all they want to share their love of the sound of the gulls and the surf. They want you to remember the sunrises and take them with you through the winter. The ocean, the beach and their beach house is something they want you to experience and enjoy. In the words of one of the matriarch's of the family. 'What could be nicer.'
Bonnie Todd purchased this Condo in 1984
Why Bonnie Todd chose South Beach Haven
If you want to be on the beach, close to the ocean and away from the crowd this place is for you. Once you experience ocean front living you know what it means and why it is so special. Merivale Ave. is a lovely street in the southern part of Beach Haven. 220 Merivale is the end of the street, closest home to the beach and the ocean. Most of the owners have been on the street for decades and have become good friends. The owners grew up or summered on the Island and although they have traveled to other places, recognize and love its village atmosphere and consider it a most cherished and special place. The summer of 2016 has brought beach replenishment to the island. Large dunes have been placed by a Federal Project over the entire island. The purpose is to spare the island from the ravages of storms like Sandy and fall and spring North East wind storms. Entrances to the beaches are under construction and should be finished by high season. First floors all over the island have lost views and second floors are now enjoying water views and morning sunrises. Our first floor has a designated beach area between the dune and the house. This is particularly nice for families that want to enjoy the salt air, the sound of the ocean and a secure beach area.
What makes this Condo unique
There is a small private area in front of the decks. It allows for private beach parties and a secure area for little children to build their castles, play ball or just lie in the sun. A covered porch overlooks it for adults to read, work or use their tablets and know their kids are in sight. It is so easy to rise with the sun and go on a beach treasure walk or an early morning swim. It is so nice to have a dinner on the deck overlooking the ocean and listening to the surf. You can enjoy a beach party in front of the porch as the sun goes down. The second floor has a retractable awning to allow you to control the amount of sun you want to enjoy. The fishermen are a stones throw from the best fishing beaches. The surfers enjoy great waves in the blocks surrounding Merivale.
