Capital Le-Puy-en-Velay offers music festivals, culture, medieval churches and monasteries, restaurants, village markets with regional products. Nearby (15 km) Pope Clement VI began his vocation as a monk at La Chaise Dieu with the vast abbey church (1344–1350), where he is buried in 1352.
