Why Sandra Nikolajevs chose Poultney
Poultney, VT has always been a special place for me, ever since spending childhood summer vacations at Lake St. Catherine State Park. Each year we would drive by the beautiful home at 341 South Street in Poultney to see the home where my mother grew up. Built in the 1920s, the Botsford Farmhouse had always been a warm and welcoming home where friends gather and families create memories. During its rich lifetime it has been at turns a single family home, a boarding house for teachers at the local High School and college, and a relaxing vacation property. In the Spring of 2018 I was fortunate enough to take over the care of this special property. After fully renovating the property, I am now happy to share this home with guests who would like to enjoy the peacefulness, beauty and warmth of this beautiful part of Vermont.

Home away from home
The property was perfect for our family of six to get away from the hustle and bustle of NYC. Five rooms, 2 bathrooms, and plenty of space to cook, dine, relax, and gather. It was our home away from home. We are protestants so we were able to navigate to Middletown Springs Community Church which is 9 miles away from the property, which was essential for us. The ski resorts and attractions are in close enough proximity to enjoy the drive and arrive without needing to stretch. When I needed to communicate with Sandra, she was responsive and accommodating. The next time I am here with family or friends, we will have one less concern of booking a home as this will be our homeaway in Vermont.
I am so glad you had an enjoyable stay and hope you will return!
In town wedding
It is evident that every effort was made to ensure a comfortable stay. The home was clean and comfortable. We had 6 adults fit very comfortably. It's a very quick and nice walk into Poultney which is a very small, but quaint town. overall, a great place to spend the weekend!
Very pleasant and relaxing vacation!
Very much enjoyed our stay at this property. However, in looking at the photos online, I got the impression that the property was set further back off the road and further away from other houses, although I guess this could have been somewhat my misconception. That being said, it was an extremely quiet neighborhood with more than enough land in the back for my family to enjoy. One of my favorite things to do in the morning was to sit in the Adirondack chairs in the back with a cup of coffee. What a beautiful view! Such peacefulness! Sandra was outstanding to deal with. Had one minor initial concern the first full day we were there and she was extremely responsive to my text. It turned out to be a non-issue in the end. The house was very clean on move in and had everything we could have needed. Since this was my first time utilizing VRBO, or any rental by owner site, there were a few amenities I didn't expect, such as bar and liquid soaps, shampoo, etc., of which there was plenty for our stay. The downtown area was very small, but everyone was incredibly friendly and pleasant. We had a wonderful time and would like to thank Sandra for all her hospitality. We left with a number of wonderful memories.
comfortable farm house
only one hiccup, but all went well!!
Lovely: photos doesn't do the house justice
The house was way more than what I was expecting. I lived in Poultney for 4 years and honestly this must be the nicest house in town. The view is gorgeous. The house has plenty of space! The house is also extremely clean and new!! Which was so nice. I loved everything about the house. The location is also perfect because you are close to town but it’s still a quiet area. I loved everything about this place! I would highly recommend it to anyone.
