About this property

A Quiet Place Close to Cooperstown

Escape for a moment of peace and tranquility in our secluded cabin. (Note: As of July 2024, we started construction of a 3 bedroom house up the driveway from the cabin. Not visible from the porch, but close enough that there may be some construction noise. Most of the work on the outside is completed and our Amish builders are primarily concentrating on the inside this summer. They quietly arrive at 6:30am and are done by 3:30pm. They are not here at this property every day. Please keep this in mind if you are considering renting the cabin over summer 2025.) A 1/3 mile drive up the hill through woods and fields will bring you to a cozy cabin, ready for you to rest and enjoy nature. During the day relax on the wrap-around porch looking out onto the surrounding fields and woods – a perfect place to read, nap, and watch wildlife. At dusk feel the world relax and as night falls, view the stars in every direction.

The house provides a queen-sized bed in an open loft and a queen-sized bed in the ground floor bedroom. There is an additional fold out couch-bed in the living room that sleeps 1 and a twin cot stored in the upstairs closet. The galley kitchen, dining room with wood stove, and living room provide an intimate and cozy environment. Although removed from the bustle of the world the house has all the modern conveniences – a full kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, personal Keurig, fiber optic Verizon internet, Dish Network cable TV, DVD player, and washer/dryer, and land line phone. The house is 15 miles to Cooperstown (20 minutes to the Baseball Hall of Fame) and its attractions and 7 miles to the Glimmerglass Festival. The Cooperstown Dreams Park is 20 miles away, about 30-35min drive from the cabin.

The house was very accommodating. There was everything one could possibly need. The beds were super comfortable and the wild life and stars were fun to see at night. The hosts were very responsive and helpful.we brought our small dog with us and he also really enjoyed exploring their large land. We would love to use this home for future stays.

Absolutely lovely cabin!

The surroundings were so peaceful & the only sounds we heard were birdsong! Overall the cabin was extremely clean with beautiful furnishings, modern bathrooms, & plenty of space. The kitchen is truly a home away from home experience with everything you need. The wraparound porch & comfy rockers were also a plus! We would love to stay again!

Nice stay, beautiful scenery

Property is located a bit outside where it shows, make sure you have you’re route directions before you go as it’s rural, cell service is limited and gps doesn’t show it quite where it is. The land it’s on is absolutely beautiful and close drive to a number of day activities. Would absolutely stay again.

Perfect place for baseball week

We had a great stay at the cabin. Drive to Dreams Park didn't bother us, usually about 30 minutes but gorgeous drive along the lake. This cabin is of the best stocked rentals I have ever been at, and the owner was super helpful and communicative. Cabin is clean and exactly as described. Construction nearby didn't bother us at all.

We enjoyed our stay so much. Coffee on the porch in the morning watching wildlife was so peaceful. The cabin had everything we could possible need. A grill, pots & pans, extra blankets, we found everything. A big plus for us - the cabin was super clean! If we are up that way again, we will definitely stay there!

Cozy Home

We enjoyed this cozy home for our family while we were visiting Cooperstown. The owners were very prompt with answering questions. We loved watching the birds, deer and turkeys every morning in the fields. As a bonus, we had no problem with wifi connection while in the home :)

A Perfect Stay

Such a wonderful Dreams Park youth baseball trip to the Cooperstown, NY area. This amazing cabin is located in a perfect spot whether you are looking to enjoy a peaceful visit in nature or wanting to experience Otsego Lake or downtown Cooperstown. It is clear the property owners take great pride in their property and hosting others. They literally thought of everything inside and outside the cabin to make for perfect stays. We have enjoyed numerous cabins all over the country, and this is by far the best. Make sure you take a hike to see the Van Hornesville waterfalls, located right behind Owen D Young Central School.

A Little Bit of Paradise

Since leaving this place a few days ago, I've been constantly fantasizing about what it would be like to have a little bit of paradise like this all of my own. I can't say enough about how wonderful this spot is, and I fully intend to stay here again should an opportunity present itself in the future. It's wonderful! For a little context, my dad (age 72) and I (age 44) stayed here for four nights while my nephew was playing in a baseball tournament in Cooperstown. Undoubtedly, others looking at listings in the area are coming to town for the same thing. It is is a bit far from the ballpark -- about half an hour -- and very secluded. But, honestly, that's what we loved about it. Do be prepared to be off the grid, however. I had almost no cell phone coverage (Verizon). Occasionally, if I was sitting in the perfect spot in the cabin, I could send and receive a text message, but the signal wasn't strong enough to get online for any other reason. There is wifi in the cabin, but it was not working the four nights we were there (the host did a truly admirable job trying to solve the issue remotely, but the service provider was clearly working on a different sense of urgency than the rest of the world). I will admit that I kind of loved it -- it was so quiet -- but I wasn't really prepared for it. I had brought some work with me that needed access, and I also didn't come prepared with any idea of what to do in the area other than the baseball tournament. So when I hopefully come again, I will simply be better prepared to enjoy being disconnected (if it happens).

Great Place to Stay for Everything Baseball.

This property is located about 16 miles from Cooperstown, which is a great drive and scenic. The cabin is in excellant shape and we really enjoyed our stay They have it stocked so if you need something they may have it and you can restock when in town. Both bedrooms were great and the bed were comfortable. Great wrap around porch for relaxing and watching the wild life . The cabin is away from the crowds and and a great alternative to staying in older home with the smell. The owners are so responsive and care about the cabin and their guest staying there. Can not say enough good things about this place.

Great clean place to relax and enjoy nature. I loved seeing the newborn fawn, baby squirrels playing in the yard, turkeys and the owners had plenty of bird seed to feel the birds! The owners were great at responding to any questions I had. Highly recommend this property!
