[Some of us love winter hiking because it’s cooler, bug free, views are even better, plus fewer people. Only 4 miles from where Pisgah Highway (hwy 151) intersects with the Blueridge Parkway and the famous Mountains to Sea Trail, Treetop Mountain Vista is in the perfect location. Keep in mind the roads are always cleared into Asheville so we are easily accessible to downtown, the Biltmore Estate, the NC Arboretum or any other wonderful attractions that may bring you to our “Neck O’ The Woods”.]

Known for its inspiring views, privacy and serene atmosphere, our cabin is the perfect getaway for the romantic at heart. Our Cozy and inviting home features a King Bed (stunning view can be seen from bed), Beautiful Wood Burning Stove, Reading Nook with a variety of books, Love Seat, and Flat Screen TV with a satellite program. Also a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your favorite meals, Hot Tub and gas grill on the totally private deck, which is partially covered for outdoor dining even in a gentle rain. If you time your trip right you may even witness a full moon coming up over the mountains and sailing across the sky! The bathroom provides a Ceramic Tile Walk In Shower, Old Amish Cabinet and a Copper Bowl Sink. Bonus room with a twin bed for that extra person adjoins the bathroom. We now have a fire pit with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing campfire. Just bring the marshmallows and hot dogs!

Our cabin, nestled within tall trees, abundant wildlife and stunning views, provides an authentic mountain experience of getting back to nature and a promise of being dazzled by the environment that surrounds you!

Treetop Mountain Vista is easily accessible with any kind of vehicle and is only a quarter mile from the main road. We are only minutes away from Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Pisgah, the Biltmore Estate and the Asheville Outlets Mall. Enjoy many varied activities as you explore white water rafting, kayaking, hiking, the Pisgah National Forest, fly fishing, hot air ballooning, mountain biking, climbing, community theater and the "Land of Waterfalls" in nearby Transylvania County. Take in Asheville for our world class restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, antique, vintage clothing and craft shops, parks, Pack Square, quirky tours and let's not forget the abundance of micro-breweries. Plenty of time for day trips?...check out the nearby mountain towns of Waynesville, Black Mountain, Brevard, Flat Rock and Chimney Rock. Or you may choose to bring your supplies, never leave the property and just enjoy relaxing or exploring the mountain behind the cabin. Many guests do just that!!! About Nancy

I grew up in Northern Wisconsin, surrounded by lush forests and an abundance of natural lakes, so I have a true appreciation of nature. In 1972 I moved to Florida to experience a different kind of life, lots of sun, warm weather and gorgeous beaches. But still I had a dream, and that was to live in the mountains and be able to walk out on my deck and enjoy an amazing view. I eventually moved to Western North Carolina and never looked back, because life in these mountains is everything I ever hoped it would be and more. When I moved into my cabin, which has an amazing mountain view without even having to get out of bed, I realized that dream. The first morning took my breath away as I opened my eyes and the first rays of sunlight hit Mt. Pisgah. Later I moved into a different location here in the area and it has been one of my greatest joys in life, to provide this remarkable experience for others. The cabin is located right outside of Asheville. I take a personal interest in seeing to it that everything is perfect for each new guest to arrive. Thank You, Nancy

Nancy purchased this cabin in 1999

Why Nancy chose Candler

I have lived in the Asheville area now for 19 years. I find it to be one of the most wonderful and unique places imaginable. I wouldn't live anywhere else for anything. Something for everyone I always say! For nature lovers we have the Pisgah National Forest and the Smoky Mountains with unlimited hiking and bicycling trails, lots of waterfalls and one of the most diverse ecological areas in the world with over 100,000 species of plants and animals. Not only are the natural surroundings diverse but so are the people with their attendant cultural interests. And speaking of culture, Asheville is a haven for artisans with numerous galleries and festivals to show off their talents. If you love music, you've come to the right place. Not only do we have numerous concerts in the area all the time but we also have Friday night drumming during warmer months in Pritchard Park and Shindig on the Green in the summer, both free to the public. You will frequently hear a lone musician or a combo providing music in front of the cafes, Fine Arts Theater or Malaprops Bookstore. And speaking of downtown Asheville, it is impossible to walk down any street, anytime of day, any day of the week, any time of year and not find lots of people abuzz with activity. It is just a lively and invigorating town. And Asheville has some of the very best cafes and coffee houses you will find anywhere. Have I convinced you that I love it here? If so, or even if not, come and find out for yourself why Asheville is listed in numerous magazines and books as one of the top places to live or visit in the entire world!

What makes this cabin unique

Treetop Mountain Vista is a single cabin off to itself to provide longed for privacy. No one will bother you as you enjoy the hot tub for two high up on the deck. Part of the deck is covered for dining outside, which you can still enjoy even in a peaceful rain. The hot tub sits in the open so you can thoroughly enjoy the night sky. The comfy king bed provides a bird's-eye view of Mt. Pisgah as you awaken in the morning or just taking a breather anytime of the day. Everything is provided for your experience of rustic beauty with more than just a touch of luxury. The view from nearly every window is inspiring. You are right at Mt. Pisgah and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and you'll be watching the view over the treetops(hence the name TREETOP MOUNTAIN VISTA). Behind the cabin is more mountain to explore. But right up highway 151 and the Blue Ridge Parkway are plenty of places to hike or ride your mountain bike. It's an exceptional location! Yet not at all far from Asheville, Waynesville, The Biltmore Estate, The North Carolina Arboretum and too much more to mention here.

Amazing stay at Nancy's cabin

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I were looking for a Christmas getaway visit to the Biltmore house. After searching for weeks for a good cabin in the mountains I found Nancy's. It was perfect. The location on top of the hill gives you a fantastic view of the mountains. The cabin itself is cozy and inviting. Upon arrival we were supplied with easy access and LOTS of dry wood to make a fire with. I had a fire crackling in the fire place the whole time, it is great to fall asleep to. After making some dinner, the hot tub on the porch felt great in the cool mountain air. The morning view with the sun cresting the mountain peak is so peaceful. This just happened to be the weekend I asked my girlfriend to marry me and Nancy's cabin was just the icing on the cake. We will definitely return!

The most relaxing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Treetop Mountain Vista and once again, we fell in love with the place! The views are gorgeous. We especially loved stargazing through the windows at night. Sitting in the hot tub on the deck taking in the scenery was wonderful. Nancy, the owner, is very sweet and accommodating. Her customer service could not have been better! The location is great, secluded and in the mountains but yet only a 20 minute drive to downtown Asheville. Looking forward to many more stays over the years.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this lovely review. We had a most unexpected weather event (and as our local weatherman explained, impossible to predict) in all of Western North Carolina and Upstate SC. I’m so glad it all turned out well and we look forward to your return visit. Have a Blessed New Year! Nancy

It's been my experience that many VRBO properties fall short the lofty descriptions posted by the owner. This was not the case with Treetop. This home is set in a very private setting with spectacular views of the surrounding montains. Sit on the deck for awhile and as the light changes, the view changes and in all cases, is just captivating. The home is immaculate, very tastefully furnished and everything works just as it is supposed to. From the kitchen applinaces to the TV to the plumbing - it's all in great working order. The beds are comfortable with no sagging spots or miserable pillows that provide no comfort and the sheets are smooth and soft. The bedding is set off by beautiful blankets/quilts that were just perfect for the style of the cabin. The kitchen is set up to make you feel right at home. Nancy has even thought to supply a wide variety of spices in the pantry. When you are ready to unwind and really appreciate the peace and quiet and beauty of the woods, the hot tub is just right. It's kept at the correct heat and is obviously well maintained so there need be no hesitation to jump in. The hot tub seats two very comfortably.

Ashville/Candler had a pretty heavy snow several days before we were to stay at Treetop. On the day before we travelled from Murfressboro TN, there had apparently been some icing and melting and there was concern about whether or not the road would accomodate our drive to the cabin door. Nancy was in contact with us several times that day with updates and advice for our travel. Although the trip was actually rather uneventful Nancy's concern for us and our safe travel was very kind and reassuring that we were headed to a good place.

We enjoy the Asheville area and visit frequently. The ride to town was easy and we didn't give it a thought. Every place you might want to visit is readily accessible. And then you can come home to this very beautiful and comfortable cabin. This was just perfect for us.

All in all...this was the best VRBO that we have ever experienced. We loved the cabin and wished we had made arrangements to stay longer. We will definelty be back in the Spring!

Thank you Nancy for a great get-a-way!!

Owner's Response: I’m so happy everything went well for you and we exceeded your expectations. Thank you so much for this detailed review which other travelers can use to get a good idea for their own experience. Look forward to seeing you in the Spring. Mid to late April is usually when the dogwood are in bloom and we do have many on the property. Nancy

This place is absolutely adorable. It's extremely cozy and the perfect setting to relax. The views from the windows and deck are stunning. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a small place (2-3 people) to relax and enjoy the mountain views!
