If your visit to Asheville includes hiking or biking, then you’ve landed on the right pad! TTMV is perfectly situated within easy driving distance to many of the best trails in Western NC. We are only 4.5 miles from where the famous “Mountains to Sea Trail” intersects at MP 405 with the Blue Ridge Parkway and Hwy 151. (Also named Pisgah Highway, a very scenic road in it’s own right.) Go South on the Blue Ridge Parkway to “Looking Glass Rock”trail on the left, (a rigorous trail with a famous view) and go a little further to “Graveyard Fields” on the right. Keep going to Black Balsam Rd on the right (easy to miss) with trail heads and at the end is the “Art Loeb Trail” section 3, which is part of the “Shining Rock Wilderness Area”. (This writer has been on that trail several times but has yet to make it to Shining Rock). These are only suggestions and to learn more about these wonderful opportunities and more, go to sites such as “Hike WNC” and “Asheville Hiking Tours”. You do NOT need a four-wheeler, SUV, Jeep or large truck to access any of these hikes. For less exhilarating hiking adventures, check out the NC Arboretum and Bent Creek Experimental Forest, both of which are only 20 minutes from this cabin. Or spend a day on the Biltmore Estate trails.
Again, check out the hundreds of guest comments at the end of the "Owner Information" section for personal experiences at this cabin and lots of suggestions as to where to hike, eat, drink and other activities while in Asheville. You'll be glad you did!

I grew up in Northern Wisconsin, surrounded by lush forests and an abundance of natural lakes, so I have a true appreciation of nature. In 1972 I moved to Florida to experience a different kind of life, lots of sun, warm weather and gorgeous beaches. But still I had a dream, and that was to live in the mountains and be able to walk out on my deck and enjoy an amazing view. I eventually moved to Western North Carolina and never looked back, because life in these mountains is everything I ever hoped it would be and more. When I moved into my cabin, which has an amazing mountain view without even having to get out of bed, I realized that dream. The first morning took my breath away as I opened my eyes and the first rays of sunlight hit Mt. Pisgah. Later I moved into a different location here in the area and it has been one of my greatest joys in life, to provide this remarkable experience for others. The cabin is located right outside of Asheville. I take a personal interest in seeing to it that everything is perfect for each new guest to arrive. Thank You, Nancy

Why Nancy chose Candler
I have lived in the Asheville area now for 19 years. I find it to be one of the most wonderful and unique places imaginable. I wouldn't live anywhere else for anything. Something for everyone I always say! For nature lovers we have the Pisgah National Forest and the Smoky Mountains with unlimited hiking and bicycling trails, lots of waterfalls and one of the most diverse ecological areas in the world with over 100,000 species of plants and animals. Not only are the natural surroundings diverse but so are the people with their attendant cultural interests. And speaking of culture, Asheville is a haven for artisans with numerous galleries and festivals to show off their talents. If you love music, you've come to the right place. Not only do we have numerous concerts in the area all the time but we also have Friday night drumming during warmer months in Pritchard Park and Shindig on the Green in the summer, both free to the public. You will frequently hear a lone musician or a combo providing music in front of the cafes, Fine Arts Theater or Malaprops Bookstore. And speaking of downtown Asheville, it is impossible to walk down any street, anytime of day, any day of the week, any time of year and not find lots of people abuzz with activity. It is just a lively and invigorating town. And Asheville has some of the very best cafes and coffee houses you will find anywhere. Have I convinced you that I love it here? If so, or even if not, come and find out for yourself why Asheville is listed in numerous magazines and books as one of the top places to live or visit in the entire world!
What makes this Cabin unique
Treetop Mountain Vista is a single cabin off to itself to provide longed for privacy. No one will bother you as you enjoy the hot tub for two high up on the deck. Part of the deck is covered for dining outside, which you can still enjoy even in a peaceful rain. The hot tub sits in the open so you can thoroughly enjoy the night sky. The comfy king bed provides a bird's-eye view of Mt. Pisgah as you awaken in the morning or just taking a breather anytime of the day. Everything is provided for your experience of rustic beauty with more than just a touch of luxury. The view from nearly every window is inspiring. You are right at Mt. Pisgah and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and you'll be watching the view over the treetops(hence the name TREETOP MOUNTAIN VISTA). Behind the cabin is more mountain to explore. But right up highway 151 and the Blue Ridge Parkway are plenty of places to hike or ride your mountain bike. It's an exceptional location! Yet not at all far from Asheville, Waynesville, The Biltmore Estate, The North Carolina Arboretum and too much more to mention here.

Beautiful Mountain Top Get Away
My wife and I loved Nancy's treetop vista! From the moment we started up the inclined gravel road to the cabin we felt like we were on the mountain adventure we'd been looking for. The place is beautifully kept and gives you a private view of the mountains. There's even trails right off the cabin if you don't want to go far. Our dogs loved the peaceful setting and so did we! We'll be back. Thanks to Nancy and her great communication!
Beautiful, private, mountain cabin perfect for two people!
This cabin was perfect for my partner and I and our dogs. We appreciated the beautiful mountain view from both the deck, and the bed. Gorgeous sights to wake up to! There were tons of reading material including trails nearby, picture books, and maps to snuggle up and look through while considering your plans for the stay. Blue ridge parkway is a must and just a few moments down the road and Asheville is VERY close. We loved the privacy of being at the top of the hill with access to a nice yard and other cabins just out of eye sight. All necessities of a home were provided and the subtle extras were charming (sage to burn in the fireplace and incense for the patio to keep insects away, etc.)
The driveway is steep but short and the stairs from the bottom floor to the second level were challenging for our senior dogs. Other than that, it was perfect! We will certainly be back!
Thank you so much for this lovely, detailed review. Also I would like to mention that I have just put together a packet of books and maps highlighting the Blue Ridge Parkway and trails along with other features for guests to look through while making their outdoor plans. I couldn’t get it ready in time for your visit but I’m happy you found enough information to make your way in the area. There is so much to see and do nearby that a person could literally spend years exploring. Best wishes for you and your beautiful dogs💕. Nancy
This cabin is a great jumping off point for visiting Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway. The view is lovely, it's quiet, tranquil and well equipped. We also appreciated that it is dog friendly! Highly recommend.
Tranquil romantic retreat
The cabin was charming. We sat on the sunny deck, glass of wine in hand, and watched spring come over the mountains. The hot tub was a great way to start or end the day. Just far enough from Asheville to feel like the country and close enough that it didn’t feel like a chore to get into town.
What a wonderful visual you have “painted”. Thank you so much! Nancy
Nancy’s cabin in the trees is a secret oasis!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a quick weekend get away and had an amazing time. The cabin is cozy and secluded yet convenient for driving to hiking trails and downtown Asheville. Honestly we wished we had just one more day to enjoy the cabin itself. We will be back!
You’re welcome back any time! Thank you for your review! Best Wishes for many happy returns💗 Nancy
Awesome Mountain views
The place is perfect for 2-3 people. The hot tub could have been a little bigger, but the views are amazing. Luckily one night it got cold and we were able to use the wood stove- which definitely heats! The view of the mountains is great and at night the view of the stars is, as well. The bed was comfortable, we enjoyed our stay!
We are 15 minutes away from the world famous Blue Ridge Parkway. Asheville and The Biltmore Estate are 20 minutes away. From our deck you have a birds eye view of majestic Mt. Pisgah. A must do activity for nature lovers is the North Carolina Arboretum only 20 minutes away. We are on the edge of the Pisgah National Forest on the side of a mountain surrounded by trees, but with easy access to all you come to our area to see but still away from it all. A very private and serene location to just relax and enjoy life. Not far are plenty of grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and movie theaters.
