About Nancy

I grew up in Northern Wisconsin, surrounded by lush forests and an abundance of natural lakes, so I have a true appreciation of nature. In 1972 I moved to Florida to experience a different kind of life, lots of sun, warm weather and gorgeous beaches. But still I had a dream, and that was to live in the mountains and be able to walk out on my deck and enjoy an amazing view. I eventually moved to Western North Carolina and never looked back, because life in these mountains is everything I ever hoped it would be and more. When I moved into my cabin, which has an amazing mountain view without even having to get out of bed, I realized that dream. The first morning took my breath away as I opened my eyes and the first rays of sunlight hit Mt. Pisgah. Later I moved into a different location here in the area and it has been one of my greatest joys in life, to provide this remarkable experience for others. The cabin is located right outside of Asheville. I take a personal interest in seeing to it that everything is perfect for each new guest to arrive. Thank You, Nancy

Why Nancy chose Candler

I have lived in the Asheville area now for 19 years. I find it to be one of the most wonderful and unique places imaginable. I wouldn't live anywhere else for anything. Something for everyone I always say! For nature lovers we have the Pisgah National Forest and the Smoky Mountains with unlimited hiking and bicycling trails, lots of waterfalls and one of the most diverse ecological areas in the world with over 100,000 species of plants and animals. Not only are the natural surroundings diverse but so are the people with their attendant cultural interests. And speaking of culture, Asheville is a haven for artisans with numerous galleries and festivals to show off their talents. If you love music, you've come to the right place. Not only do we have numerous concerts in the area all the time but we also have Friday night drumming during warmer months in Pritchard Park and Shindig on the Green in the summer, both free to the public. You will frequently hear a lone musician or a combo providing music in front of the cafes, Fine Arts Theater or Malaprops Bookstore. And speaking of downtown Asheville, it is impossible to walk down any street, anytime of day, any day of the week, any time of year and not find lots of people abuzz with activity. It is just a lively and invigorating town. And Asheville has some of the very best cafes and coffee houses you will find anywhere. Have I convinced you that I love it here? If so, or even if not, come and find out for yourself why Asheville is listed in numerous magazines and books as one of the top places to live or visit in the entire world!

What makes this cabin unique

Treetop Mountain Vista is a single cabin off to itself to provide longed for privacy. No one will bother you as you enjoy the hot tub for two high up on the deck. Part of the deck is covered for dining outside, which you can still enjoy even in a peaceful rain. The hot tub sits in the open so you can thoroughly enjoy the night sky. The comfy king bed provides a bird's-eye view of Mt. Pisgah as you awaken in the morning or just taking a breather anytime of the day. Everything is provided for your experience of rustic beauty with more than just a touch of luxury. The view from nearly every window is inspiring. You are right at Mt. Pisgah and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is surrounded by trees, and you'll be watching the view over the treetops(hence the name TREETOP MOUNTAIN VISTA). Behind the cabin is more mountain to explore. But right up highway 151 and the Blue Ridge Parkway are plenty of places to hike or ride your mountain bike. It's an exceptional location! Yet not at all far from Asheville, Waynesville, The Biltmore Estate, The North Carolina Arboretum and too much more to mention here.

Amazing stay at Nancy's cabin

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I were looking for a Christmas getaway visit to the Biltmore house. After searching for weeks for a good cabin in the mountains I found Nancy's. It was perfect. The location on top of the hill gives you a fantastic view of the mountains. The cabin itself is cozy and inviting. Upon arrival we were supplied with easy access and LOTS of dry wood to make a fire with. I had a fire crackling in the fire place the whole time, it is great to fall asleep to. After making some dinner, the hot tub on the porch felt great in the cool mountain air. The morning view with the sun cresting the mountain peak is so peaceful. This just happened to be the weekend I asked my girlfriend to marry me and Nancy's cabin was just the icing on the cake. We will definitely return!

Beautiful view!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I highly enjoyed our stay there for a long weekend. The cabin was just enough for being comfortable but the view from the hot tub in the morning and at night is like no other. The cabin is about 30 minutes from downtown but we could still get an Uber to come to the cabin which was nice and there is an Ingles about 20 minutes away. Must check out Shining Rock (10mi) and The Looking Glass Rock hikes (6mi) from the cabin. They were easy to get to which was nice. The cabin is above the other cabins on the mountain, so it is private. The driveway is pretty steep so a truck or SUV is easier to manage with. Nancy had everything we needed and was so easy to contact for anything. We loved our stay!

Wonderful cabin to relax and unwind

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Nancy's Treetop Mountain Vista. The view is simply stunning! We arrived in the evening, so our first view of the mountains was the next morning and we were blown away! There was also a full moon during the week we stayed, which made the evenings even more beautiful. I highly recommend planning a trip during a full moon!

Nancy was great to work with and had everything ready for us. We used the wood stove every day and never ran out of wood. We cooked frequently at the cabin and she provided plenty of supplies to make it easy on us. The driveway is quite steep and due to the size of the truck we had, it was a bit difficult to turn around at the cabin, but as long as you are careful, you should be okay. All in all, it was a lovely week and we hope to return someday! Thank you Nancy!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for this great review! My son has a large pickup and it is a little trickier when I take it than when I drive my own little adorable pickup there, but definitely doable.😊?. I encourage using sedans or small pickups when you have a choice. The fullmoon from the deck is truly a sight to behold! Too bad there’s only one (usually) a month. I hope you do return sometime! Best Wishes for a great year! Nancy

Perfect mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The Treetop Mountain Vista exceeded our expectations! Such a peaceful and relaxing mountain getaway. My fiance and I went for my birthday and it was exactly what I was hoping for. It was the perfect romantic getaway for us and our dogs. It has amazing views and is located in the perfect spot. It is close enough to spend the day in Asheville but secluded enough to feel private. I'm so happy we found this house and highly recommend it!

Perfect getaway for 2

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I took a vacation to Asheville for a long weekend, and this cabin made the vacation even better. Nancy was a great host, we had one small issue with the hot tub on our 2nd night, and Nancy looked into it right away. The cabin was very clean, all the rooms, bedding, and bathroom were spotless. The view from the hot tub is amazing. Highly recommend and we are planning to be back again.

We are 15 minutes away from the world famous Blue Ridge Parkway. Asheville and The Biltmore Estate are 20 minutes away. From our deck you have a birds eye view of majestic Mt. Pisgah. A must do activity for nature lovers is the North Carolina Arboretum only 20 minutes away. We are on the edge of the Pisgah National Forest on the side of a mountain surrounded by trees, but with easy access to all you come to our area to see but still away from it all. A very private and serene location to just relax and enjoy life. Not far are plenty of grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and movie theaters.
