This rustic, family-friendly home is perfect for a summertime getaway or winter ski-cation. Enjoy the mountains and the trees from your back deck, and after a day of exploring, take a little time to cozy up around the wood stove and ease those tired muscles.

For the visiting skier, Snow Summit is just a half-mile south while the Bear Mountain Ski Resort is only a couple miles southeast. For a fun day with the kids, take a trip to the Big Bear Discovery Center for educational exhibits and hands-on activities, only three miles away, or take a trip to the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, just a little over two miles from your front door. And be sure to stop at Magic Mountain offering winter bobsled tracks and summer water slides.

The home is a perfect location at the base of Snow Summit. The home is extremely old and could use some simple upgrades but overall the stay was good. Home has extra blankets, incomplete games, some leftover oils and spices and plenty of kitchen utensils, plates, cups. Coffee machine did not work. Heater works well. We must have been the first family to stay for the season as the place was not very clean. Beds were very clean.

A little bit of a rough start but overall great

We got there a little before 4 to the office but office hours don't start until 4 so we had to wait. You really can't check into rental until after 4. Unfortunately we were given the wrong code for the property so we had to return to the office. We tried calling the customer service phone but we were placed on hold for 20 min that's when we returned to the office. We ended up not being able to get into the rental until after 6 so our first night was a waste. Other than the initial problems everything else was perfect. The rental was clean and well stocked with basic needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only recommendation would be to open the office at 3:30 which would allow checking into the property by 4 and still have time to get in some activities. Also some information inçluded on the printed rules where to dump your trash when leaving. Thanks

Snowboard Weekend

This cabin was clean and comfortable to lounge around in and was super close to 2 shuttle stops to take us to snow summit.

House needs more cleaning! Kitchen had spiders and ants, the lights and ceiling fans had spider webs. Also said garage was available and it was locked, had no access to it.
