Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

This spacious 1800 sq ft three bedroom, two bathroom single story house has accommodations for 6 to 8 people.

It is located on the southern shore of Lake DeSoto in the resort community of Hot Springs Village. It has a fantastic lake front location which results in a panoramic view of Lake DeSoto. We have enhanced the natural drainage channel that runs from the woods to the lake at the side of the property by adding a pump to make it a relaxing babbling brook that you can enjoy in the evening on the deck or dock.

Swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking are all at your fingertips. For the golfers in your group, the number and quality of the Hot Springs Village golf courses is legendary.

As can be seen from the photos, landscaping features Encore Azaleas which bloom throughout the year! The large boat/swimming dock can accommodate your boat or our pontoon boat which is available for rental by our guests.

The house is easily reached from the main entrance to the Village, being just off of DeSoto Blvd and only about three miles into the Village. The Spa town of Hot Springs is less than half an hour away and offers many sights and attractions. These include art galleries, antique shops, museums, botanical gardens, amusement park, horse racing at Oaklawn Park, etc., etc. A wealth of interesting recreational opportunities.

This property is located only a few doors down the street from one of our other Village rental house on Castellon Drive, which can sleep 8-10 people. See VRBO listing 134164. Our third Lake DeSoto waterfront property is a four bedroom/four bathroom house that sleeps 8-12. It has a great lake view! See VRBO listing 191874. Ask about our package deals for large groups that require multiple houses at once!

We also have both 20' and 24' pontoon boats, aka party barge, for hire by our renters. Please inquire for details.

Relaxing mini family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four plus my parents stayed 3 nights here during spring break. There was plenty of room, and it was so much better than a hotel. The guys fished and took the kayaks out; a couple of us took turns in the hammock, and the ladies did a little shopping and visiting on the back porch. Cor (the owner) came by to meet us and was friendly and helpful. The home was spacious and clean. Each room was decorated with a theme - fishing, golf & quilts. While the decor was not modern, it was comfortable and pleasant. There is a Walmart just down the road and a grocery store just across from the village. There's also a CVS and Sonic just outside the village. We ate at Charlie's Pub (used to be Molly O'Brien's) across Hwy 7 from the Village. It's always been one of our favorites. We made a trip to the store for groceries and cooked a few meals there, and there was plenty of cookware and dishes. I will remember to get foil and/or ziploc bags next time for leftovers, and some salt and pepper. Other than that, most anything you need is there - towels, hand soap, dish soap, laundry soap, air freshener, life jackets. Just bring your fishing poles and sports equipment! Our teenage boys went to the basketball courts down the road, and met several other teenagers there and had a great time. We played board games at night, and just enjoyed the outdoors. We were looking forward to roasting marshmallows, but the fire pit is no longer there because of the fire codes. We did not rent the pontoon boat, but there is one available. I would definitely recommend this home and owner to anyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thank you, Cor, for your hospitality.

A True Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from our vacation and we already miss is this home! We created some wonderful memories with our 3 kiddos. The rental property felt like a "home" to us, very cozy, relaxing and stress-free. The lake was amazing, fishing was great and boat rental was adventurous! We ate at The Shack... OUTSTANDING, not to mention the great blizzards and shakes. If your hungry for Chinese... OMG, The Great Wall!! The HSV (Hot Springs Village) has many beaches you can visit, we choose The Desoto beach... lovely and quiet.

The owner, Cor is a great man, very kind and generous. He has great suggestions on all the great things around the HSV.

We want to say "Thank you" Cor for making this family vacation very special. You can count on receiving another call from us in the Spring, 2015!

great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a long weekend stay and I can't say enough great things about the home and property. It was well kept and clean and very spacious for our two families. The location was prime and right on the water with a dock and firepit. Although next time I'd like to take the kayaks out. We just simply ran out of time. The deck was huge with wonderful views of the lake. The area was nice and quiet and we even did a little bit of fishing off the dock and caught a couple of fish. It was just the right environment to unwind from city life in Dallas. Grocery stores, wine and tobacco shops are close by and an easy drive into Hot Springs. I can't wait to get back. Thanks Cor for everything!

Rented this fall for a long weekend with girlfriends. Everything was as advertised and our host was most helpful. Groceries, wine and drug stores all close by.

Great porch with a great view of the lake. Thanks, Cor!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this property for a week and it was like being at home. Everything you need to be comfortable is all under this one roof. We also had a great time fishing and swimming off of the boat dock. It is truly one of the best properties in HSV. We will defiantly be back next year. Thanks Cor for making us feel so welcome, you guys are GREAT!

property was exactly as described, accommodations were exactly as described, renter was helpful and made sure everything was right. Our grandchildren enjoyed fishing, and making smores on the fire-pit.

would definitely recommend and will stay here again. Four adults two children ages 4 and 6. Walmart is not far away, great eating places nearby, local eating like sonic, burger king, subway
