A full kitchen is ready for the chef in the group to prepare and share meals at the breakfast bar or dining table. Pine accents throughout the condo and a stone fireplace give it a real mountain vibe. A deck is off the living area and is perfect for gathering after an adventurous day.

This location offers year-round fun for everyone. You can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating in the winter. In fact, during the winter months, the Mountaineer shuttle can pick you up at your door to take you to Palisades. Take advantage of the service at nighttime and enjoy a lovely dinner while you're there. Load your skis onto the back of the van and enjoy the ride. On that note, try taking the base-to-base gondola to Alpine Meadows as well, which has two incredible mountains for skiing. With this condo, you can access shared tennis courts, a swimming pool, and hot tubs. Golf, hiking, and numerous hiking trails are nearby as well. Head to the Village for dining options, shopping, galleries, and live music.

Spring ski retreat

The unit was the perfect home base for our 4 day trip to Palisades Tahoe. Short drive to the resort and also to town for restaurants/groceries. Would definitely recommend.

We never heard from the host. Everything went through Vacasa. I reached out to Vacasa multiple times and nothing was ever resolved. The carpets throughout the house are filthy. The pots of pans that are in the kitchen were greasy and dirty. The toaster in the kitchen didn’t work.The master bath shower was unusable due to the fact that the tub would not drain. The vent in the master bathroom was falling out of the ceiling. The second bathroom the glass wall would leak when you use the shower so there were puddles all over the floor. The tiles on the floor in the second bathroom were peeling and would stick to your feet or break off from the floor. The light above the shower in the second bathroom has no cover and is totally exposed. The shade in the second bedroom was unable to be raised. The heat would automatically turn down to 52 all the time and you would have to babysit it. Otherwise the condo would be freezing. Especially after coming back from skiing all day. This was all brought to the attention of Vacasa and nothing was ever resolved.

Nice stay

We stayed at this condo a few times during the ski season. Very convenient located super close to Palisades. This condo is a little bigger than some of the other condos in Tavern Inn. We had good time and will come back in the future. Thank you!

Well renovated spacious condo at excellent location. Would stay again here. Only thing to point out to the property managers is that blinds in master bedroom were stuck (could not be lowered) during our stay. Please fix these.

Cozy and spacious cabin.

Our family of four enjoyed our stay at this spacious cozy place. The owner had detailed instructions throughout the house (from heating to check-out, a variety of board games, and a well-equipped kitchen. The beds were firm and comfortable. The communal hot tub was easy to access from the balcony staircase. The Mountaineer shuttle service always arrived on time and super friendly. A few things that need attention: 1) one of the lower kitchen cabinet door was broken 2) although the temp. control was taped and labelled not to touch, the freezer did not freeze the items we had placedWe would definitely come back.

Comfortably firm beds

We were so glad that the beds were comfortably firm instead of mushy or soft. No seriously, that has been our biggest gripe with vacation homes and hotels. But this place did it right. And it did other things right, too, such as being clean and spacious, close to trails and Tahoe City attractions, having well-equipped kitchen and board games for the family, good working Internet, even had a bike rack downstairs to keep our 3 bikes safe overnights. This has been our favorite rental place so far.

Pros: Great location! It was within 5 minutes of our venue. We loved the layout of the condo - we could visit (talk, laugh) without bothering anyone who decided to go to bed earlier than others because of the location of the bedrooms. It was nice and clean. Con: Need better directions of how to get to the front door/front of the building. And, a heads up that there wasn't an elevator because we would need to go up 3 flights of stairs would've been nice. We were with my in-laws who are 80 years old. Overall: 4.9

So much bigger than expected?

Pro: •every bed was super comfortable with a firm mattress and a selection of pillow densities. •fire place was on when we arrived, this made it cosy and welcoming. •Private staircase and landing provides extra privacy. •2 full bathrooms and one with a bath was very convenient for bathing our toddler. • extremely clean on arrival Con: •The two front bedrooms face the road, and a lot of noise comes through the drafty windows. Adding curtains would help insulate the cold and the noise. • the neighbors dog barks a lot during the day, this hindered nap time. • they have ‘green fry pans’ but there was no oil for cooking • there was a coffee maker but no coffee

Broken & unsafe amenities

I stayed for one night with a few friends, and the condition of the property was far from satisfactory. The glass shower/bathtub door in the master bathroom was missing a roller and could easily fall out of the metal frame (railing) and hurt people. The top metal frame itself was out of place, and I had to manually secure it against the wall. We had to be really careful entering/exiting the bathtub, and we had to use the far side to do this because the door on the near side wouldn't move and could slide out of place any second. This was not only inconvenient; it was a genuine safety hazard. The other bathroom's shower wasn't draining properly. We all had to use the bathtub with the broken door (see above). The fireplace didn't work, despite following instructions from the customer service. The secondary bedroom on the lower level had a malfunctioning alarm clock. Although it was unplugged, it went off twice at 5am and couldn't be turned off easily because the display wasn't showing anything. I've stayed at many vacation rentals (both via Vacasa & other vendors), and I can hardly imagine anything worse (more dangerous) than the experience we just had. I initially wrote this feedback privately to Vacasa's customer service email, but they don't seem to care enough to reply a single word.

Overall clean, comfortable unit. We were 5 adults, with one person sleeping on the fold out couch. We experienced a warm weekend and the unit does not have AC so we needed to open windows to cool down the unit. The unit is right next to a very busy road so traffic noise impacted our ability to sleep. We arrived after dark and finding the unit and the front door were a challenge! The complex is in a great location, but i would recommend looking for a unit further away from the road

Comfortable, Clean Condo from the late 90s

We had a lovely stay 4weeks of January 2022 in #55. Would stay again. We travel 3mo/yr and own holiday rentals ourselves. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thought the unit was good value for the season based on market analysis. Cons to start: Some street noise if you sleep with windows open (blocked out by earplugs). Other tenants of the complex let their dogs go to the bathroom on main walkways without cleaning it up for an entire month in the middle of winter. Same dogs can be heard through the walls barking all day for several days (noise cancelling headphones blocks this out). Pros to finish: Very clean, very comfortable, very spacious. Owner uses a linen service for good quality, clean, towels and bedding. Kitchenware has been updated since 2007 ( I wouldn't host TG dinner but it's enough to cook meals at home). Vacasa staff (Bill and the call center team) were lovely and helpful. Quiet top floor apartment (other than the dogs barking downstairs during the day while their owner is out). Cable internet performed good enough on video conference calls for a month (but lacks strong enough coverage in the main bedroom for VCs). Pictures are honest. The owner has left the apartment aesthetically the same since 2007 when it last changed hands, which is common in Ski condos (but updated the towels, linens, kitchenware). In unit washer/dryer was very helpful for all those under layers. Location is brilliant! 4mins drive to Squaw Valley parking lot. 10min drive to Alpine Parking lot. 10mins to Tahoe City. 15mins to Truckee. Walk over the road to Tahoe Dave's Ski Rental and get fitted out by Devin's lovely team. If you are looking for nicely fitted boots go see the team at Olympic Boot Works over the road from Squaw Valley parking lot.
