Lovely two bedroom cottage in a peaceful location in the village of Portesham close to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site with fine beaches and spectacular views from coastal footpaths. Walks in the rolling Dorset countryside. Sandy beach at the popular resort of Weymouth 7 miles. Dorchester, Bridport and Lyme Regis, with shops, markets and other attractions also easily accessible. Pub with food within walking distance. Sailing, windsurfing, horse riding, golf all available nearby.
Ground Floor: Living room, dining room/kitchen. sun room, Cloakroom with toilet.
First floor: 2 bedrooms, one with king size (5ft) double, one with twin beds (2ft6in). Bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and wash basin.
Garden with furniture. Barbecue. Patio area.

Getting to the property and getting inside were very easy. We found the kitchen well equipped and the beds super comfortable. The village is pretty and quiet but has a great pub. I would stay at Jurassic Cottage again like a shot!

Lovely cottage in a great location with very comfortable beds and everything else you need for a relaxing few days away (or longer) in beautiful Dorset! Peaceful location in lovely village

Lots of places to visit close at hand. Nice garden but no boundary with next door, a disadvantage with a dog. Poor shower, needs either stronger pressure or a better shower head. Bedrooms nice and beds comfortable. Downstairs could be brightened up. Expensive for what you get.

Great Location

Very clean property in excellent location. Fresh, comfortable bedding and towels, great WiFi and the Alexa device was a nice touch. Very pretty village with a good local pub and farm shop/café. We would give 5* on everything but the garden wasn't suitable for dogs as its virtually impossible to keep them off the neighbours' property as there is no fence between the two gardens. The lady next door to that runs a feral cat sanctuary in her garden. She has at least 8 that roam freely. This is just something to bear in mind as otherwise it is a great base to explore Dorset.

The property was spotlessly clean with every comfort considered. Easy walk to The Kings Arms and the Farm shop. Such a pretty village which so close to the coast. Highly recommended.

Gemütliches Cottage

Das von außen unscheinbare Cottage ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und liegt sehr ruhig. Es gibt keinen direkten Parkplatz, aber auch keine Parkplatzprobleme in näherer Umgebung (ein paar Schritte die Straße runter). Der zugehörige Garten ist wunderschön. Sollte es einmal windig sein, kann man sich gemütlich im kleinen Wintergarten aufhalten. Für längere Aufenthalte sind alle notwendigen Hilfsmittel vorhanden: Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine, Staubsauger, Bügeleisen... Alles in allem perfekt.

We really enjoyed our stay at jurassic cottage, it had everything we needed and was in a great location. Jacky was helpful and responsive to any questions. The only slight issue was parking but other than it was great.

Very good we a small leak in twin room it had rained all day and gutters were blocked I rang jack and her husband and a builder came round straight away and fixed the next day parking is a real problem one day I had to park half a mile away

Portesham May 2021

We enjoyed our stay at Jurassic Cottage. It was very clean and tidy when we arrived and felt welcoming. Due its location, there are few places to leave the car after unloading and we feel this could have been made clearer in the website details. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people but the plates and bowls were different sizes. We had one issue with the property during our stay and contacted the owner who responded quickly and helped us fix the issue. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage.
