Perfect cozy condo for family weekend
The condo was exactly as billed. Easy to get into, well stocked, and ready to use to we could optimize our time having adventures and not worry about housing. Betsy was great and prompt in her responses when we had questions. The beach is easy access. This was a perfect place for a family getaway.
This stay was only a good cleaning and a couple of small upgrades from a 5 star review.
Great location!! Stayed a week and had a blast. Short walk to pool. Beach is a little further but easy walk across beautiful well maintained property. Close to great dining. Would revisit given the opportunity. Great destination for the $$
Perfect Beach Location
Even prior to arriving, Betsy was WONDERFUL to work with. She happily answered all of my questions in prompt fashion to help us get a good idea of what to expect at the condo. Booking was extremely easy and, while we were pleased with the refund policy, we are happy we didn't have to make use of it.
The condo itself was very clean and well-stocked to be able to make meals. We had three adults and one child (7) stay and had enough room for everyone. The couch and stuffed chair in the living room are very comfortable. I think it would be a tight fit for 6 people, but if you only cared about having a bed to sleep in then it would be perfect. The balcony overlooks the parking lot, but we never had a problem with noise. The smaller bedroom has a window into the condo hallway which always has lights on. We solved this problem with a few pillows and an extra blanket despite the blinds on the window. We also made good use of the laundry facilities and beach items Betsy has in the condo. In the words of my 7 year old, "Man, this place is beautiful and I love that the beach is so close!" She slept on the roll away bed so the adults could have the big beds.
The overall facilities were very well maintained and clean as well. The condo is an ideal location on the property: not too many stairs to climb to the second floor, close to the parking lot for easy unloading and a short walk to the pool area. We saw other guests, but the property was very quiet and even being on the second floor did not hear the noise of neighbors to the side or above or below. We were a short drive to nearby Morehead City and Beaufort. Fort Macon is right down the street as is the Pine Knolls Aquarium, both of which we visited in half a day each. Great places to eat include Amos Mosquitoes (right down the street but be prepared for a long wait!), Red Fish (Morehead City), Ribeye's (Beaufort) and Ruddy Duck (Morehead City). We also took the Island Ferry to Shackleford Banks for ponies and shells and had a great day.
The walk to the beach was short. We brought a beach cart (there is also one in the condo) but ditched it because of the stairs on the boardwalk. The beach itself was never crowded despite the beautiful weather and the seashells were abundant.
Thank you again for the use of your amazing place. We'd definitely stay again.
Our family was extremely pleased with our stay; the pictures of this location don't do it justice!
This location surpassed all of our expectations! Atlantic Beach is one of the quietest and most beautiful we've been to in the US, and we hope for many more returns. This home is only a lovely walk across the dunes to the ocean, and nearby Morehead City has everything one would search for on vacation. Seafood meals at local restaurants were delicious (with many offering waterfront views), and our nine-year-old twins were delighted with a homemade ice cream shop, aquarium, putt-putt golf, and go-cart race course all within a short driving distance. This condo had plenty of room for our family of four, where we enjoyed the balcony view of both the ocean and the bay. Truly, we have treasured our time here.
Well maintained, close to beach & convenient to everything.
A bit dated, but it was comfortable with all the necessities you would need. I'd book at this location again!
We did a holiday weekend with our family of 3. Very cozy accommodations. Close to beach. We didn't use the pool but it was popular. Betsy was very responsive & easy to work with. We had a wonderful time!
Atlantic Beach, a twenty-mile barrier island, is located in the middle of the North Carolina coastline in an area aptly called The Crystal Coast. The area includes Emerald Isle, Indian Beach, Salter Path, Pine Knoll Shores, Atlantic Beach, and Fort Macon. The historic town of Beaufort, located on the Inland Waterway, is nearby. Beaufort has a lovely waterfront shopping area with a boardwalk, restaurants, and a maritime museum. Morehead City is located between Atlantic Beach and Beaufort. Other area attractions on the island include the NC Aquarium, restaurants, shag dancing, and a fishing pier.
