Castaway è una casa sul lungomare con 2 camere da letto e 2 bagni vista oceano a Marathon, Florida Keys.

La casa è stata ampiamente ristrutturata. È completamente arredato e comprende un soggiorno, una sala da pranzo e una cucina completamente attrezzata. Contiene caratteristiche di lusso come lucernari, finestra panoramica, legno naturale, illuminazione ad incasso, acqua filtrata refrigerata, portefinestre, elettrodomestici inox, bagno padronale piastrellato in marmo e ripiani in granito.

La camera da letto principale contiene un letto matrimoniale, a grandezza naturale nella camera degli ospiti e ha una camera da letto per 2 persone sul letto matrimoniale convertibile nel soggiorno. Dispone di aria condizionata e riscaldamento, nuovi elettrodomestici, ventilatori a soffitto in ogni stanza, nuove attrezzature per lavanderia e TV satellitare in soggiorno e camera da letto principale.

Vi è un accesso diretto in acque profonde di 5 minuti sia all'oceano che al golfo proprio dal nostro molo lungo 65 piedi. Il dock dispone di illuminazione a bassa tensione, acqua dolce, potenza di 30 amp per barche più grandi, diversi portacanne e una stazione di pulizia del pesce.

La pesca è eccellente direttamente dal nostro molo. La banchina è esposta a est e ombreggiata durante i pomeriggi e le serate per pranzare / fare festa in banchina. Il canale scorre attraverso Vaca Cut, quindi la qualità dell'acqua è eccellente per nuotare direttamente dal molo.

Il patio sulla riva contiene la griglia a gas, il fumatore a carbone e il camino a legna.

C'è un kayak per due persone

Questa zona è famosa in tutto il mondo per la pesca, la nautica, le immersioni e lo snorkeling e tutte queste attività sono disponibili localmente tramite operatori charter.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Castaway. This location is ideal for anyone wanting to fish, sightsee, swim, watch the sunsetting, and start all over again the next day! The nearby restaurants are terrific with delicious entrees! Boat access is great with quick access to the ocean. We are definitely looking forward to visiting and staying here again!

We were there to fish but unfortunately the weather was not on our side most of the time. We still had a great time shopping and eating at several amazing restaurants. We hope to be back soon!

Good location and nice property

Just completed stay at property, and enjoyed our time in Marathon. Centrally located in Keys. Listing was accurate, but I will make a few notes for other visitors - kayak is usable, but heavy and not in great shape (seats were hanging on by a thread); new kayak should be bought or bring your own. Beach Chairs - out of your the 4 provided only 1 was in working order. Fishing from dock or canal was not that good, but what made it great was the empty lot next to house. We utilized the dock on the channel-side and we caught lots mangrove snappers, and a couple of nurse sharks. We tried to catch the tarpon that hangs out there but to no avail. Filet table on dock was perfect for catch and cook.

Epic family holiday time with family at the Castaway

I stayed from 12/24/23 until 1/5/2024. Our stay in this home could not have been more awesome. I trailered my 26’ Regulator boat from North Carolina and kept it at the dock on the canal beside the house the entire time. We were blessed with wonderful weather most of the time we were there. We were able to get out on the reef and offshore 8 out of the 11 days of our stay. The two bedrooms had comfortable mattresses, bathrooms were outfitted with plenty of fresh towels, kitchen was stocked with excellent cookware and utensils. We stayed in and cooked for about half of our dinners from all the fish we caught and they even had left over canola oil for our first fry to use. WiFi was solid for uploading my GoPro footage and Dish Network was nice. The pull out couch in the living room was an added bonus as well for my 18 year old. Dockside amenities were high grade as well. They had a storage room for all of our rods and tackle as well as a mini fridge/freezer for chum storage. Washer/dryer units were there and they left us several Tide pods to get us started. Dock had a nice fish cleaning table and there was a resident Manatee hanging around almost every day. The most wonderful family vacation I’ve had with family over the holidays in years and a lot of it had to do with this house and its location. Will definitely re-book this home again in the future if they will have me.

Okay - difficult place to be comfortable

Overall, we found it difficult to be comfortable at the Castaway. Seating options in the condo are limited to the living room, barstools, kitchen chairs and kitchen barstools. Aside from the kitchen chairs, nothing was really that comfortable. It seemed to us that the furniture in the living room and the barstools in the kitchen were just kind of thrown together without a lot of thought. The living room furniture, sofa and chairs, was uncomfortable and relaxing was a challenge. The four leather bar stools were too tall to comfortably sit in. They're so tall that you can't sit in them and have your legs under the counter space. In addition, the two wooden bar stools in the kitchen are very small, probably designed for children, but definitely not for the average sized adult. The wooden sides would dig into our hips. Both bathrooms are small. The smallest of the two has a ridiculously small sink. The shower is very small with little elbow room. In fact, the plastic shower liner often sticks to you while showering. Both mattresses need to be replaced. They’re very uncomfortable. If two people share the bed, you’ll end up caved into the middle of it. In my opinion, the Castaway is in need of some upgrades. Because of that, we would not stay here again.

Beautiful place

The house was beautiful and clean and the view from deck and living room window was amazing. The kitchen was well equiped and there was more than enough linens and towels. There was also some fishing equipment and kayak and bait freezer. We managed to catch a few small fish from the channel, but if you wish to catch larger fish, you need to go to a local park or beach or bridge. All are available within 10 minutes by car. Sombrero beach was super beautufil and only 10 minutes away. Overall very good expierience. Note that on the deck side on right hand side there were some loose/missing boards and I would think to replace them to avoid a guest's injury. Other than that, a perfect place for a family vacation. Highly recommend.

Paradise!

This house is amazing! The views from the dock are breathtaking. This is a must stay everything in the listing is accurate and the location is close to everything in marathon. Sombrero beach is a ten minute drive. We watched manatees in the canal and saw dolphins and a shark. There is an awning with a remote control so you can easily have shade. Exceptional stay definitely will be booking again in the future!

Castaway is perfect place in Marathon to visit

Castaway house is a perfect place to stay in Marathon, Florida. Centrally located in the Keys made location great for touring either West or East of Marathon. VRBO pics listed are an exact match for setup of house. The skylights and windows gave us so much natural lighting we didn't need to use inside lights during daylight hours. Kitchen setup was so very nice. Furniture and appliances were top flight. Plenty of room for 4 people to stretch out. Fishing from our own dock was the coolest part of our trip. Too bad I don't own a boat. Of course, the best part of this rental is the gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean. We also met many neighbors that made our experience even more enjoyable. You can tell when you enter this property the owner & management team have taken great care of it. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

RELAX AND UNWIND

This home is as gorgeous as it appears on the website. The location is great and the views are outstanding. Canal life in "Little Venice" was super! There are so many super moments that I just loved while staying here. Manatees in the canal, sunsets and just the best relaxing location to look at the ocean. There are 2 bathrooms. One in the hallway and the other one is located within the "master" bedroom. It is tiny, but it has the cutest sink, shower and toilet. One fun feature is the outside shower that is very private. The "master bedroom" has a slider that faces a patio area and is the closest access to the outdoor shower. Cons - I need to note that each door is a vented door, like a shutter. Sadly this causes the house to not be "sound proof" everything is heard in every room. It especially is difficult when you have early risers in the house and it awakens you. Living room has the potential to be a "bedroom" with a pull out couch. Company slept there and the complaint was the rolldown shades. They are light filtering which is fabulous during the day but dusk to dawn its a huge problem. Can't sleep with all that light filtering in. What would fix that would be the option to pull some drapes. The home is lovely and clean. Neighborhood is quiet too. You do hear airplanes and helicopters with the nearby airport but its nothing that affects your day to day life. Great having a washer and dryer on the premises and its in another room that connects outside. Overall, great vacation experience, relaxing and fun...would highly recommend!

Spectactular location!

Beautiful views! Manatees swimming right by the dock! Friendly neighbors. Evrything we needed was provided plus some extras! We enjoyed Marathon so much and hope to return possibly in the future for a few months!

Perfect for our family of 5

Location was very good for us with a small boat, Captain Hooks for fuel bait etc... was just a short boat ride or car ride away. Out door shower was very nice which was the choice of use by all. The house was remodeled not long ago and done very well. Dock area was a perfect hang out area with great views and sun looks just like the photos. Jessie the property manager was great to work with and very responsive to our questions. Will will stay again in the future. No complaints!! it was a great stay.

Overall decent, but not great

This property is a small two bedroom with one bathroom and a closet that was turned into a bathroom. I realize that this is a first world problem, but that bathroom was so small with no sink space that we had some difficulty there that we weren't expecting. The rest of the place was ok. It would be best if renters were using this location as just a place to sleep. Having a rented boat to dock at the location seems like it is the typical primary usage.

Cute and Cozy

After a 6 hour drive, we were happy to find a clean, cool, and comfortable place to stay. The ocean view is very peaceful and although many neighbors are still recovering from Irma, we rarely heard any noise. If you have pets or small children, be mindful that there are broken pieces of glass and many sand spurs in the surrounding areas. There are, however, nearby places to walk and play. Our property manager, Jessie was very helpful in finding us places to walk our dog and to recommend restaurants, etc. The house is very well stocked and even comes with lots of snacks. We hope the next family enjoys this place as much as we did.
