Great location, really cute house, but the “4th bedroom” is no bedroom at all, more like a walk in closet. Lots of clutter in cabinets and WAY to many throw pillows! There were 22 on the sofa, they were in every closet, under nightstands, everywhere, crazy. There was zero room for groceries as all cabinets were stuffed with excessive amounts of dishes. Overall ok
This particular house should not be rented as it appears to be used as a storage site for the owner. This is not accommodating for paying guests, especially at this price point. I am absolutely uncertain why there was a cleaning fee, as it appeared to have not been cleaned very well when we arrived. When I entered the house, I wasn’t certain that the furnishings were not for sale because everything had a price tag on it. The lamps, the cabinet in the kitchen, the baskets on the walls, the furniture on the porches, even the drink coasters around the house; the picture frames throughout the house with stock photos! There were no luggage racks to place a suitcase and no drawers to use. Even if there had been luggage racks, there was no place to put them – not even in the master closet because it was absolutely filled with stuff - extra decor, picture frames with price tags, pillows, towels, mattress, pads, a basket of some sort of linens, a vacuum cleaner and huge plastic tub with linens on top of that. The upstairs king closet was filled with 10 one-gallon paint buckets, four five-gallon paint buckets, three fire extinguishers, extra smoke alarms, light bulb, air filters, ladder, all sorts of decorative items & accessories, light bulb changer, etc.No TVs upstairs; poor internet & streaming for one evening only on main TV. Not accommodating for renters as it appears to be storage for property owner. Needs exterminating as dead bugs each morning throughout house.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry the home didn’t meet your expectations — though it sounds like most of your concerns were more about décor tags and stock photos than anything that might actually affect a stay. We do occasionally update the décor, and a few tags may have still been on some new items. I hope that didn’t take away too much from the lakefront views.
As for the picture frames, yes — some still contain the manufacturer’s stock photos. We’ll certainly get around to replacing those with scenic shots soon, though we hadn’t realized this was such a critical factor in comfort.
The home’s walk-in closets and empty dresser drawers provide ample storage for clothes and luggage. The only items stored are extra linens, a few replacements of decor, and a small tote of seasonal décor — hardly clutter, but rather the makings of a well-stocked vacation home.
Regarding the mention of a bug — we are on a professional pest-control schedule. When temperatures drop, the occasional dead bug can appear. Thankfully, that means the treatment is working exactly as it should.
Finally, all photos were available before booking. This is a $1.4 million lakefront property with a dock, offered for $450–$550 a night — a rate that’s quite modest given the home’s quality and location.
We do apologize that new décor, clean storage areas, and a professionally maintained home on the lake didn’t quite live up to your expectations.
