Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom & one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.

We liked being able to walk just around the corner of building to get to pool or beach. Owner was easy to reach if we needed anything. We did report missing toilet roll holder. The trash pick up is right outside our door but not a bother to us until the last couple of days when we started seeing some large bugs. Guess thats to be expected. These were our views. Soft white sand and nice wide beach.

Perfect Family Getaway

This was an excellent stay! Location was wonderful, the condo was updated and majorly clean (a few yuck spots left from previous kids on the walls where bunk beds are), the beach is AMAZING. Truly one of the nicest beaches in Florida, can be a bit crowded but nothing crazy. The pools were all nice and the complex had a lot to offer (cafe, bar, etc). The master bed area can get a little noisy at night due to cars coming and going or other guests, but overall not too much of a problem. Definitely a spot we would come back to!!!

Great property. Very nice appliances. Lovers the walk in shower. Great location close to everything, restaurants & shopping. I highly recommend this property when traveling to Destin.

It was definitely chilly at Christmas but the location was perfect. It was a little noisy due to updating the condos but overall the stay was perfect.

Great place!

Property is conveniently located, on-site amenities are nice, and condo was clean. Would stay there again. The first floor was very convenient, and you can see the beach from the patio. Upper floors would have a better view.

Wonderful stay!

Great condo with all of the amenities, with the exception of not having a washer/dryer in the unit, it was perfect. Location was perfect and close to everything. The new pool is great!! We will definitely be back next year.

Stay was nice I had to call I had to call maintenance twice. The kitchen sink was filling up because the garbage disposal wasn’t working. Cable tv wasn’t working in the living room. Shower in the bedroom would fill up as you took a shower. Toilet paper holder was ripped off the wall. Huge roach crawling in the bedroom. I would stay at the pelican beach resort again just not in room 110.

Great place!

We had such a great time in this condo. It was exactly like the pictures and so pretty. Great views and very comfortable. The only issue was that the coffee maker was not great. It kept leaking on us. Otherwise, it was perfect!

Perfect Location at Resort

This condo was very clean and easy to access. The decor is adorable and is as advertised. With the exception of the trash pick up early in the morning - this condo is pretty quiet even with the pool at lanai level. Well equipped and plenty of sleeping spaces for a family of 6. Check in and out was a breeze. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back.

Perfect location!

This condo was perfectly located for everything in Destin. Also, we loved that it was on the bottom level, close to the pool, the beach, and it was priced reasonably. You have a beautiful spot here! This will be a go-to condo for my family on our next visit! I will say we saw a lot of glass on the beach and outside by the trash chute which was super unfortunate and out of the hosts control but it was just something we noticed and had me a bit paranoid taking my kid on the beach.

Great Accomodations and beach!

This condo has the very best of kitchens, all new stainless steel top quality appliances plus quality pots, pans, and dishes New flooring and hall bathroom. The only negative is that the sofa is not comfortable and a reading lamp would be nice. We play board games with friends that are in Destin also and there is no table in this condo.

Pelican Beach Room 110

It was a very nice room, and everything was exactly how it was listed. Communication was great as well. Everything was smooth as you’d want. No complaints on our end. Very convenient being on the first floor as well for unpacking, bringing groceries in, etc. Only downfall of the room was being next to the trash chute. Other than that one flaw I would definitely recommend this room.

Fantastic family spring break

Everything about this unit was ideal for our family of 5’s spring break. We have stayed at this resort 2 other years, and this unit in particular was gorgeous, beautifully decorated and extremely convenient with its ground level access. We were worried the first floor would not have a view, but we were pleasantly surprised with how gorgeous the view of the ocean was, and we could see dolphins daily from our patio. Thank you for a wonderful stay- the management group was very easy to communicate with and quick to reply with any questions. Do not hesitate to book this unit. We will be back.

First floor not recommended

The bed lines were very dirty, too much noise from trash pick up early morning around 7am I payed for 3 nights and just stay for 2 because of very bad smell from trash cans right in front of our room !! Not recommend

Great Time

This condo is probably one of the better ones at the resort. The update/refresh is amazing. Furniture is comfortable and plenty of room for entertaining. There are a couple of things that could make it better-the top bunk is not really meant for a person to sleep. The space between the ceiling and bed is not tall enough. The garbage chute is extremely loud in the morning. One suggestion would be to add mare towels as well. Oh and the beach is great except there are 4 rows of chairs so bring your own unless you want to stair at the backs of everyone else. I loved this but it was too expensive for what little time we spent and for the limited access more signage would be helpful to find the amenities as well. Security is great but they cannot catch everyone smoking with is an issue as we encountered that smell multiple times during our stay. Summary-Room was great, noises, smells, and beach access were irritating, security excellent. Communication with property manager good. Will not be back due to preference but would us panhandle reservations in future.

Great beach stay

We had a nice stay. The condo is exactly as described and pictured - nicely updated, comfortable, convenient, and maximized. Pros: - nicely decorated - king bed - new, clean kitchen with all amenities - multiple pools - fitness center - on site cafe - two full bathrooms with extra towels, blow dryer - close drive/bike ride to anything you’d need - beautiful beach and lovely view of the beach, water, and dunes - beach is very clean, people were respectful with music, space, trash etc - the ground floor, corner unit access is super convenient. From loading and unloading it makes it fast and easy. To get to the beach just walk out the door and around the corner to the gate and path, so great to not have to do elevators and deal with all the rest of the building. Cons: - ground corner unit is next to trash chute (no problem) but when tit gets emptied it’s loud next to the bedroom - balcony is right at the pool so if you enjoy a quiet glass of wine at sunset you’ll have to tune out the kids - seemed like very high fees - can’t set up your chairs anywhere, have to do so behind the paid spots The convenience outweighed that for us though. You do need to bring your own beach chairs/umbrella or rent for $40 (for two chairs and umbrella) and the rentals have priority location on the beach.

Simply amazing!

We highly recommend this resort/condo! The amenities are incredible- 3 pools, 2 hottubs, a Tiki bar, cafe, fitness center, beachfront/direct beach access, onsite laundry, & 24x7 security. Maintenance, Housekeeping, & the Front Desk staff were all very friendly & helpful. One thing I would change is asking guests or staff to not use the garbage chute until after 9 am (or adding foam to absorb the noise of the chute). Our unit was right by the garbage chute, and it was very loud in the mornings when we were trying to sleep. An additional suggestion is if Maintenance is stopping by the room to fix something, that they be required to call b4 they stop by, and not allowed to enter unless the renter or owner r there. (We got back to our room, and a maint. guy was in our room, which was concerning.) The last suggestions r a deadbolt lock on the front door, a metal bar for the sliding glass door, room darkening blinds, lights for the large hottub so it can b open at least until 10p, and cafe hours until at least 9p. Thank u for asking for our feedback, and for the wonderful accommodations! We would definitely recommend, and will definitely stay again!

Dumpster Location and Tone Deaf Property Manager

As someone who owns and manages two short-term rentals, I recognize the value of 5-star reviews and I’m inclined to give 5-stars as long as the place is consistent with the description. In this case, I can’t in good conscience do it. I messaged the manager about a few shortcomings within an hour of arriving. One of those items was the absence of salt and pepper. There were empty shakers, sigh. I got a very curt response ignoring the other items on the list and saying that due to health and safety issues, they couldn’t provide salt and pepper. What? I had no idea that I, along with EVERY prior VRBO place I’d EVER rented from had so endangered my health and safety by providing salt and pepper! Seriously, if you do decide to rent here, make sure to bring everything that’s missing including a sponge, a corkscrew, a pitcher, salt and pepper… Others have mentioned the trash shoot and proximity to the dumpster, which are all factors. Also there is construction going on, which is loud. The truth is that there are many, many places in Destin — and even other units in the building — that are well provisioned, quieter, and with managers that are not jerks. Your choice.
