Classic kiwi bach - Five Mile Bay. Close to lake.

Enjoy a classic Kiwi holiday in our 1950s lake house.

Sunny indoor and outdoor spaces for one or two families or a group of friends. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms makes it comfortable for 8 people. Pet friendly.

This magic spot will remind you of how Kiwi holidays used to be. Relax at home, head to the beach in 2 minutes for safe, clean and quiet swimming, or follow the beach path to world famous fishing on the Waitahanui river. Free wifi. Sunset over the lake is not to be missed! We've even chopped firewood if you want a cosy winter evening by the fire.

- Five Mile Bay is close to SH1 and there can be traffic noise especially during busy holiday season like Christmas and New Years.

- Pets are welcomed, just let us know when you book. Smoking outside only please

- Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to just tidy the house and do the dishes before you leave. We also have a mandatory cleaners fee of $100.

- Don’t forget your own linen (towels/sheets/pillowcases).

Great host - great communication and hospitality. Very close to water. Fenced in yard which was great for peace of mind with the dog. Cost was a bit high (after tax and Bookabach fees) but it was school holidays so I kind of expected this. The noise from the highway wasn’t great but we got used to it. Again, the host was great and even offer for us to stay an extra night if we got caught in cyclone vaianu.

Worth a stay

Overall we loved the stay! A bit out of town which actually worked in our favour as we had awesome cycle rides, and dog loved the run! Stay there again!!
