Stunning modern house 150m from ocean beach
Whangamata is an outdoor persons paradise . The stunning white sand ocean beach was voted best beach in New Zealand in 2018. It has fantastic surf for surfing and swimming and islands to walk to and explore at low tides a stones throw away. If fishing and diving is your thing the ocean offers all this and more. Two golf courses in the town cater for the novice and the enthusiast . A 9 hole course in town and a 18 hole course on the towns outskirts give you all the challenges you need for a golfing holiday at the beach. Surrounded by forestry and boasting lots of newly formed mountain bike tracks this is the place where you must bring your mountain bike. Wentworth Valley Waterfalls is a beautiful bush walk which attracts plenty of hikers each year to enjoy the stunning scenery and waterfalls. The sheltered harbour and estuary offers safe swimming or a place to learn to windsurf , water ski or paddle your stand up paddle board or canoe .If you forget your equipment or don't have it you can always hire it in town. The Whangamata Bar is a world class left hand surf break which has attracted surfers to the town since the 1960's. The accommodation listed is for THE TOP LEVEL OF THIS HOUSE
Downstairs is not occupied. It has 2 bedrooms, its own bathroom, lounge and kitchenette. An option for larger families or friends is to rent the bottom level as well. This is available throughout the year and price is by negotiation.

Great place to stay, perfect location. Great being across from the beach for an evening stroll. We also enjoyed being able to ride our bikes safely around the township.

We stayed here for a weekend to attend a family wedding. Very tempted to come another time for a holiday. Located close to beautiful beach and park. The house was clean, comfortable, nice deck (if only we had time to enjoy it).
The Bach is very comfortable and clean. The weather was not favourable for the activities we'd planned on doing in the immediate vicinity, with 84 mm of rain in the previous 72 hrs and high surf. The beach was easily accessible for walks. The downtown retail area was also an easy walk away. It was a lovely place to start our New Zealand visit.

Property was ideally located - a short walk from the beach and a gentle stroll into town. All equipment was in good condition and there was plenty of room to relax at the house.

About the host
Hosted by Dave Webb
Dave and Dale have lived on this site in the house behind since 1979. Dave was HOD Physical Education at Whangamata Area School for 37 years and is now retired. Dale and Dave are keen sports people and sports include surfing, windsurfing, mountain biking, golf, fishing , cricket, swimming , walking and snow skiing. All of these activities are able to be done at Whangamata except snow skiing. Dave also has a large garden on site with plenty of fresh vegetables. Dave and Dale have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren
Why they chose this property
Whangamata is like living in paradise. Everything is at your finger tips including New Zealand's number 1 beach as voted by NZ people in February 2018. The beach is 150 metres away. Property is very safe. Down a long driveway and away from the road
What makes this property unique
Plenty of off road parking for boat and double garage for security of car and surfboards .A table tennis table in the double garage, bikes to use and a set of golf clubs are for guests to use.
