About this property
Stylish lower level apartment-Near nature, beaches, Rondeau PP
Enjoy birding, beaches, hiking, campfire and a night of star gazing! Explore the area and come home to style and comfort in our lower level guest apartment.
Just a mere 2-minute walk to Lake Erie and one of the most scenic routes for both the lake views and sunsets. A three minute walk to the beach, and five minutes to Rondeau PP. Our property is a hobby farm with extensive vegetable gardens and chickens and goats.
The property is 2.08 acres adjacent to a wetland, Big Creek which empties into Lake Erie, and a significant woodlot with agricultural fields across the road.
The rental only runs from the beginning of the birding season in late April to the end of August for a limited number of days and the accommodations are set up for two persons.
The unit is a bright, open concept, spacious lower-level (raised ranch style) guest suite with amenities such as a kitchenette, dining and living area, extra large bedroom, and three-piece bathroom with a large walk-in shower.
Extra comfortable (Logan and Cove) king-sized bed . Enjoy a movie (Netflix or Prime TV) on a 72-inch TV.
Prepare and enjoy your meals in the unit kitchenette's air fryer (5 quarts), microwave and toaster oven or (weather permitting) the outdoor "kitchenette" under the pavilion on a BBQ/grill and/or griddle and induction hot plate. (see other details for more info).
Outdoor spaces include several sitting areas and fire pit/fire bowl ( I supply the wood) and the dining pavilion.
The property is a hobby farm in the making. We have chickens, two extra friendly Nigerian Pygmy goats and gardens.
Other things to note
We have one yellow lab (Nala) so if the occasional barking, pitter patter of four paws on the upper floor is not your thing, you may be happier elsewhere. She is super friendly and we keep her under control. She has her own fenced in yard were she free ranges. We also have an indoor cat but, as cats do, she keeps to herself. Our pets do not go into the unit.

We supply towels, extra blankets, bedding and pillows. The bed is changed with fresh bedding after each stay and extra sheets and towels can be made available on request.
Note that there is no stove/oven in the unit, however, guests have access to all that is needed to make great meals in the indoor and/or outdoor kitchenette.
The indoor kitchenette is stocked with a 7.5 quart air fryer, small microwave, toaster oven, toaster, full size fridge with freezer, electric kettle, Keurig coffee maker, French press, dishes, glassware, cutlery. We supply the coffee, tea, cream, mike and sugar and we will query you regarding your preference before your arrival.
The outdoor kitchenette under the pavilion includes a seating area, a cabinet with outdoor dishes, utensils, cookware, counter space for food prep, a BBQ with a side burner (see image), propane griddle, induction hot plate and small fridge. Cooking here will be weather permitting. Let us know if you want to use the BBQ and/or griddle and we will set it up for you. Breakfast outdoors in a guest favorite. At night it is a perfect place to play cards or a board game and feel the cooling breezes from the lake. Owls are often heard at night.
There are two areas on the property for a camp fire: A large fire pit in front and a fire bowl near the pavilion in the back. We supply the wood and will assist in the set-up.
For those not wanting to cook, there is a store a five minute drive down Rose Beach Line at the gates of Rondeau PP and within the park itself there is a food concession. Both sell the basics. Also, just outside the park gates is the Rondeau Joes' Restaurant which opens at 11 am. There are additional restaurants in Ridgetown which is about a 10 minutes drive. Harvest Table makes a great breakfast and Good Days Cafe across the street has fantastic coffee, lattes and sandwiches.
For TV lovers we offer Disney and Prime on your choice of two TVs. Both are smart TVs so if you prefer to use another service you have an account for (e.g., Prime or Disney) that is possible.
An elliptical, treadmill and free weights are available at your own risk.
