Hinterland Hideaway is a peaceful one-bedroom escape set in the lush green hills of Tintenbar. This private cabin overlooks shady citrus groves, with easy walking access to Emigrant Creek and Killen Falls - perfect for cooling off on warm days. Quiet, secluded and serene yet only minutes to Byron Bay, Lennox Head and Bangalow’s cafés, distilleries and village charm.



The Space:

Arrive through a maple tree–lined driveway and step into your own private bungalow, tucked away in the rolling hinterland of Tintenbar. This is a place for slow mornings, long afternoons and starry nights. Where birdsong wakes you, citrus groves frame your view and Emigrant Creek trickles just beyond the trees.



Inside, you’ll find a queen bed made for lazy lie-ins, a soft sofa for snuggling and a wood-burning fireplace for cool nights. The cabin is air-conditioned for comfort and has a TV and Wi-Fi if you’d like them, though many guests choose to unplug. The bathroom offers a hot shower and luxury Leif shampoos and body soap to soothe you after a day exploring.



The kitchen is set for easy meals with a fridge, microwave, kettle, electric cooktop, toaster, sandwich press and coffee machine. A gas BBQ is also provided for al fresco cooking within the lush green landscape - Begin the day with sizzling bacon and eggs as the sun rises and wind down with a grilled feast under a sky full of stars.



Step outside and settle into comfortable arm chairs overlooking the grove or stretch out on the lawn for a picnic in the sunshine. If you feel adventurous, wander down to Emigrant Creek at the back of the property, or take the short walk to Killen Falls. Light the fire pit in the evening and watch the embers bounce and the heat of the flame soothe your soul.



Guest Access:

Guests have the entire cabin and surrounding grounds to themselves, including private access to the fire pit and citrus grove. You’re welcome to wander down to Emigrant Creek at the back of the property, or take the trail to Killen Falls. Parking is on-site and easy.



The Neighborhood:

Hinterland Hideaway sits in the green heart of Tintenbar where winding country roads curl past hand-painted letterboxes and neighbours still wave. The landscape shifts from open farmland to shady forest to creeks that catch the light.



Moments away, the Tintenbar General Store is a country gem with fresh local produce, artisan treats, pantry staples, cold drinks and your favourite tipple, so stocking up is easy without straying far from the Hideaway. In minutes you can be sipping coffee in Newrybar, dining by the ocean in Lennox Head or wandering Byron’s beaches and markets. Closer to home, pack swimmers and walking shoes for Killen Falls, a spectacular natural swimming spot within walking distance.



Getting Around:

While you’ll feel wonderfully removed from the bustle, the Hideaway is only a short drive to Byron Bay, Lennox Head and the charming township of Bangalow, known for its cafes, boutiques and distilleries. A car is recommended to explore the hinterland and coast but you can also enjoy peaceful walks nearby. On-site parking is included.



Other Things to Note:

The cabin includes a mezzanine tucked away for owner use, leaving the guest areas open, light and designed just for you.

Hinterland Hideaway is designed for switching off. You won’t find an oven, stove top, washing machine or dryer here but you will find the comfort and calm to truly unwind.

The driveway is shared with another home located on the same ridge, however you'll have private and exclusive access to the cabin the citrus grove and for walks down to Emigrant Creek



Interaction with Guests:

There is a lockbox located on site and you will be given your own unique lock box code to access your keys. Hinterland hideaway is managed by the warm and friendly team from Oceanstays who will be available to support you seven days a week.
