Built in 1915 and completely renovated in 2025 — Tortuga Cottage is one of the oldest homes in Bradenton Beach and one of the closest to the water. The Gulf is 176 yards from the front door. Anna Maria Sound is 52 yards in the other direction for calm-water kayaking or paddleboarding. Bridge Street's shops, restaurants, and live music are a 4-minute walk. Most guests report not needing a car for the entire stay — though the driveway fits three cars side-by-side for those who bring them.

The private heated pool has an in-pool basketball hoop — the most consistently mentioned detail in guest feedback and the kind of feature that makes a week feel different from every other beach rental. The screened porch provides outdoor living without the bugs. A poolside grill handles the evening cookouts. The fenced pool area creates complete privacy.

Morning beach walks, afternoons in the pool, and quiet evenings on the screened porch define the Tortuga experience. Guests come back for anniversaries, for the pool, and for the feeling of staying somewhere that has its own history.

Bridge Street is four minutes away on foot — Bridge Tender Inn, Blue Marlin, and The Beach House all within easy walking distance for dinner, fresh seafood, and waterfront dining without arranging a car.

Two bedrooms sleep four. The primary suite has a queen bed with private access and a smart TV. The second bedroom has a twin bed with a twin trundle. A sleeper sofa in the living area handles additional guests. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers. The kitchen is fully equipped for meals at home. In-unit washer and dryer. Beach towels and beach chairs provided.

High-speed WiFi throughout.

Dogs up to 40 lbs are welcome — the fenced outdoor area and nearby pet-friendly beaches make this one of the more comfortable pet-friendly setups in Bradenton Beach.

Tortuga Cottage requires a 3 night minimum stay during certain times of the year with parking for three vehicles.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: All in all we loved the cottage. Very clean, location was superb. Staff when needed where very quick to help. We had to use the heater due cold temps, it wasn't working. It was fixed same day. On;y suggestions would be, a drip coffee maker, with filters. There was coffee there for a drip machine, not any puck for the machine provided. To me, dripped coffee is just plain simple. We really loved the location and the cottage. Very close to Bridge street, lots to do around there.
