Whareupoko

This special family home holds a generational connection to this part of the coast and is shared so others can experience the same sense of peace, freedom and lasting memory that has been felt here for many years. Set in a rare and private location, the home sits in close connection with the surrounding whenua and moana, which are as much a part of the experience as the home itself.
The bach is more than comfortable with sleeping, dining and lounging for six. Cross ventilation and air conditioning maintains a temperate climate during the summer months. A wood burner and heat pump keeps the bach cosy in the winter.  There is ample seating in the lounge area. A variety of board games and books are available for those lazy evenings. Conveniently there is WiFi and a Smart TV, when and if you have had enough of the outdoors.

The kitchen is an entertainers delight. The open plan layout ensures the cook is part of the conversation. The view from the kitchen is accentuated by the large sliding doors and windows which frame uninterrupted views of the sea. Two outdoor covered decks provide further outdoor dining and leisure opportunities.

The main bathroom has a spacious shower, vanity and toilet, conveniently there is a separate second toilet. Laundry facilities are available but we would ask guests to be mindful, since we operate on tank water.

More than anything, this is a place to slow down, spend time together and feel the deeper connection that makes Whareupoko so special. We hope guests will enjoy the space, and the spiritual aspect, as the family has for many years. It is a place for families, slow mornings, beach days, fishing, shared meals and the kind of time together that stays with you long after you leave.
