Welcome to Orsalina, a traditional Guadeloupean villa combining wood and concrete, located in Pointe Batterie, a quiet residential area particularly popular in Deshaies. It is a green setting with a splendid sea view. Villa Orsalina has just been renovated in 2023.
From the large 70 m2 terrace on stilts, you will have a sheltered lounge, deckchairs and a small 4 m by 2.5 m swimming pool to cool off. A fully equipped kitchen and a dining area open widely onto the outside and allow you to enjoy the beauty of the place.
The sleeping area includes 3 beautiful air-conditioned bedrooms:
- 1 bedroom with 1 bed 160 x 200 with its bathroom (shower, WC, sink)
- 1 bedroom with 1 bed 160 x 200 with TV, overlooking the swimming pool and the terrace
- 1 bedroom with 2 beds of 90 x 190 and possibility of a small folding bed or 1 baby bed
You will have a second bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet, sink and a washing machine.

The village of Deshaies, known for hosting the filming of the English series Murders in Paradise every year, is a haven of beauty with its mountainous terrain and golden sandy beaches. The famous Grande Anse beach is 1.5 km away and Rifflet La Perle beach is 4 km from Villa Orsalina.
The Deshaies Botanical Garden, the most visited place in Guadeloupe, is 1 km from the villa. Many hiking trails are located within a radius of 40 km. The Soufrière volcano is 65 km away.

Bel endroit mais accueil limité...eau non potable et 1 seule bouteille d'eau pour 6 personnes à notre arrivée. Pas de Ti punch de bienvenue (contrairement à d'autres locations), matériel de cuisine très minimum (manque un blender...), transats (usés, contrairement à la photo) pour 4 personnes alors que location pour 6 personnes...BOF

Superbe villa au-dessus de Deshaies

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à la villa Orsalina. La terrasse a été refaite (et agrandie comparé aux photo de l'annonce). C'est magnifique et super agréable car dès 10h le soleil est là jusque quasiment au coucher! La piscine est largement suffisante pour se rafraichir et lire (d'autant plus qu'il y a un rebord comme un banc dans la piscine, qui permet de s'assoir face à la mer pour lire! Le pied). A l'intérieur la villa est très confortable, très bien équipée (cuisine top, lave-linge, 2 sdb, moustiquaires) et très joliment décorée! Il y a 3 chambres dont 2 avec un lit double, ce qui permet d'accueillir 2 couples avec 2 enfants. Bref nous espérons pouvoir revenir ici l'an prochain avec des amis pour profiter encore plus de cette terrasse incroyable!

la maison est bien placée. L'accueil a été super. Personne très gentille. En arrivant nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise, une lame de terrasse cassée bref cela peut arriver... par contre tout le reste de la terrasse était en mauvais état. Les gardes corps de la terrasse vu qu'elle est en hauteur sont également en mauvais état. La lame a étéremplacée le jour après notre arrivée. Je contacte la propriétaire car je suis déçue. Elle m'explique que la terrasse devait être refaite mais avec la Covid cela a pris du retard. Ce qui me gêne c'est qu'elle aurait pu nous avertir de l'état. Nous voyageons avec des enfants de 5 et 8 ans donc il fallait faire attention là où ils marchaient et pas sauter par peur de la casse. Ni s'appuyer sur les gardes corps. J'aurais voulu être prévenu et choisir ou non de confirmer la location par sécurité pour mes enfants. La climatisation d'une chambre fixée sur le bois de lanmaison donc la nuit quand elle se met en route ça fait énormément de bruit! Pour moi une rénovation de cette maison ferait le plus grand bien ! J'ai envoyé un mail a la propriétaire a notre retour mais pas de réponse !

Paradise with a view

Had a bit of a problem finding the place after a long plane trip and drive. They had a bottle of planter punch for us in the fridge. Great location: quiet with a view of the ocean. Accommodations as advertised. Clean & secure. Kitchen lacked some items for cooking like a sharp knife, oven tray, etc., but we made due. Being from Canada, we had some problem using the European appliances. We did eventually figure them out, but instructions would have been nice. The main problem we had was that the spin cycle on the clothes washer didn’t work so all the close came out sopping wet and needed to be wrung out and hung to dry for two days. After a few calls, eventually someone came out and confirmed that the appliance was not working. It took two days for a replacement machine. So basically we didn’t have a washer for the first week and we were running out of clothes. It was great that they replaced it as quickly as they could, but in the end we didn’t get what we paid for so a small rebate would have been appreciated. Another problem we had was that cell phone coverage was virtually non-existent at the accommodations. Cell phone coverage was generally poor in Guadeloupe even with a local SIM card. Otherwise everything else was fine and we would return to this location.

Super Villa bien localisée à Deshaies

Nous avons passé 3 semaines en mars à la Villa Orsalina sur La pointe à la Batterie à proximité de Deshaies. La Villa était très bien, très propre et bien équipée. La terrasse orientation ouest nous a permis de profiter de super beaux couchers de soleil à l’heure de l’apéro. Je tiens à souligner le magnifique travail de Patricia et de son mari Yves qui s’occupaient de l’accueil et de la gestion qui ont étés vraiment merveilleux et pro actifs lorsque nous avions des questions ou petits problèmes à résoudre. Vraiment des gens charmants, dévoués et sympathiques. Ils nous ont aussi prodigués plusieurs conseils judicieux sur les attraits de la Guadeloupe et les choses à ne pas manquer. De plus le village de Deshaies est charmant et constitue une bonne base pour visiter les différents secteurs de Basse Terre et de Grande Terre. Je n’hésite pas à recommander la Villa Orsalina

Nous venons depuis des nuées dns cette maison où il fait bon vivre Les propriétaires ont aménagés cette maison avec goût cette maison est dans un lotissement hyper calme Nous venons d y passer 15 jours et avons beaucoup de peine de quitter ce petit coin de paradis Nous revenons trois semaines pour les fêtes de fin d année et nous attendons cette date avec impatience

Lovely house in a great location

We had a lovely stay at the villa. While small, it met our needs and we really enjoyed the comfortable outside seating area by the pool with view of the sea. I particularly loved the convenient location- quiet and set up high, but only minutes drive from the town of Deshaies where each morning I bought fresh croissants for breakfast. Also lots of wonderful restaurants there and very close to fabulous beaches. We loved Guadeloupe. The only challenge was that I speak very little French and the house manager spoke no English. We had some frustrating exchanges and she could not explain to me how anything worked. We had a problem with the washing machine which was fixed. And our expectations were different from other rentals - there was no toilet paper on arrival and no supplies at all. Challenging when arriving at 9:00 in the evening. Although there was coffee and milk and a couple of breakfast items which we appreciated. Just know what to expect and all is great.

Emplacement sympa

Location sympa et fonctionnelle proche des plus belles plages de la caraibe. Les equipements énumérés dans le descriptif y sont. Petit bémol sur la qualité des équipements toutefois : vaisselle dépareillée, casseroles qui attachent, couteaux qui ne coupent pas, aspirateur pour barbie, pas de balayette... Aussi le point horrible, nous avons dormi sur une literie moisie : oreillers pourris et forte odeur de moisissure sur le matelas, nous avons dû solliciter l’intervention de la proprio avec les photos à l’appui ! Heureusement les oreillers ont été changés sur le champ. A part ça, pour être clair et honnete, le séjour à orsalina a été sympa mais l’entretien doit être amélioré car le ménage à l’arrivée était à refaire complètement (vaisselle sale, odeur de moisi ... )

Tolle Villa mit guter Ausstattung in schöner Lage

Die Villa bietet alles was man für einen perfekten Urlaub braucht. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, die Betten sind bequem, man hat einen super Blick und einen schönen Pool. Dazu liegt das Stadtzentrum von Deshaies nur wenige Fußminuten entfernt. Die Buchung ist sehr einfach und wir würden freundlich von Patricia empfangen. Bei unserem nächsten Besuch auf Guadeloupe ist die Villa Orsalina definitiv wieder eine Option.

Très bon rapport qualité/prix

Tout est conforme au descriptif et photos, la vue mer est vraiment sympa. Nous avons passé une semaine à Deshaies et une semaine au Gosier, mais nous préférons l'authenticité et la calme de Basse Terre. La plage de Grande Anse à 5 min en voiture est l'une des plus belles plages que nous avons faite sur l'île. Bref cette maison est bien équipée et idéalement située pour profiter de la Guadeloupe.

Magnifique séjour....

Nous venons de passer une trés belle semaine dans la villa Orsalina. Cette location est parfaite ...trés propre, bien équipée et décorée avec gôut. La piscine n'est pas trés grande mais suffisante pour se râfraichir car il fait trés chaud! L'environnement est calme et tout proche de Deshaies( voiture indispensable). Nous garderons un merveilleux souvenir de cette semaine à Orsalina.... Merci aussi à Patricia pour son acceuil.

Au top !!!

Merveilleux séjour à la villa orsalina ... nous y avons séjourné 7 jours 2 adultes et 2 enfants . Super contact avec les propriétaires réponse très rapide pour la réservation , et un excellent accueil par Patricia. La villa est magnifique très fonctionnelle, il ne manque rien. La terrasse est magnifique avec son carbet et sa très jolie piscine où l on peut admirer le plus beau coucher de soleil de la Guadeloupe à Deshaies . Deshaies est notre coup de cœur sur l île !!! Ville calme et reposante ... c était notre 11 eme séjour en Gwada et la 2 eme fois à la villa . Je recommande vivement cette location les photos reflètent la réalité. Nous avons eu droit à une très jolie corbeille de fruits, planteur et petits gâteaux à notre arrivée . Merci pour cette belle location où l on se sent vraiment très bien !!! J espère y revenir !!!

The perfect villa

We had a wonderful week in Orsalina over Christmas. The views across the Caribbean; just a few minutes from Deshaies; refreshing plunge pool - it could not have been better. It is well equipped, spotlessly clean and enjoys an ideal location from which to explore everything that Basse Terre has to offer. We spent a lot of time on Grande Anse - which was one of our favourite beaches in the whole of Guadeloupe. We would definitely recommend this villa to anyone.

Very nice villa in lush surrounding

Our family (two adults and two small children + grandmother) spend 8 nights at Villa Orsalina. We are very satisfied and can absolutely recommend this place! The villa is spacious and clean. The pool is not very big, but our kids absolutely loved it. We spend lots of time at the terrace each night. There is a fully equipped kitchen, but we mostly went out to eat. There was also a baby cot and a high chair. We walked down to Deshaies village and to the botanical garden, but it’s hilly and there are no sidewalks, so you don’t want to do that when it’s dark. A car is needed to go to beaches, restaurants, rainforest, waterfalls and everything else Guadeloupe has to offer. Be aware though that there is lots of traffic around Point-a-Pitre during rush hour. We took this into account but still got to the airport just in time for our flight. Unfortunately we don’t speak any French, but with Google Translate we could communicate with both Elaine (the owner) and Patricia, who met us on site.

Parfait endroit pour profiter de Basse Terre

Quelle magnifique maison simple et bien équipée : cuisine, salle de bain, literie et piscine. Tout est parfait. Nous étions 4 adultes et 2 bébés. Tout le matériel nécessaire nous a été prêté. La maison est très fonctionnelle. La piscine et La terrasse sont idéale. Le site est très calme avec une vue magnifique. Nous avons été accueillis par Patricia et nous La remercions encore pour son accueil et son repas spécial "arrivée tardive". Mention spéciale à pour le hamac qui me manque tant.

We had a great stay at Orsalina!

We stayed here with two small children and the place was great. Clean, compact, and tastefully decorated. The pool was a nice feature that allowed us to chill out while the kids had time to play. The house is in a great location - away from the touristy aspects of Deshaies but close to the great beaches, town, restaurants, and grocery store. This is our second time to Deshaies and we look forward to staying here again.

Loved Orsalina Villa

We spent the Christmas holiday week at Villa Orsalina. It is a lovely bungalow within walking distance of Deshaises town and a great location for day trips. House is well equipped with lots of outdoor space and a small pool for cooling off. Highly recommended.

Un endroit plein de charme

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette villa. Elle est spacieuse, bien équipée dans un endroit calme où il était agréable d'y séjourner. La vue et la localisation prés du village de Deshaies a été très appréciée. A recommander (pas trop pour nous laisser de la place quand nous souhaiterons y retourner)
