"Whiskey Rapids", sits on the tip of a point reaching into Lake Mohawksin. Situated at the end of the road, the property offers beautiful lakefront views with unparalleled privacy. In addition to the 3 bedrooms, the lower level futon, and extra full bed in the loft provide lots of variations for sleeping. as many as 9.
Trophy Musky and Smallmouth can be had from over 3000 acres of accessible water. Currently includes paddle board and life jackets with rental during warmer months. Pontoon rental additionally available. Enjoy this luxurious retreat in any season!

2nd Stay With Whiskey Rapids

Clean, quiet, and up to date property with quick access to the main lake. We stayed here for our annual fishing trip and had a great time. Perfect place for a group of friends or family to spend some time in the Northwoods.

We All had a Funtastic Time at Whiskey Rapids. Darryl and Laura sure Welcome You with Open Arms. We brought a lot of our own things along not knowing what to expect, but the Cabin was well supplied with Everything we needed and More. Summer Family Vacation

Property was on the mouth of the Somo. River in a quiet location. Lots of wildlife and fish varieties to be caught. Couldn't ask for better amenities. Our family will definitely consider staying there again.

Family vacation

The place was so much more than what was shown in the pictures. Sunrise on the water watching the otters and eagles was great. Would definitely recommend this to everyone w/ a family looking to get away for a while….Great Job!

Relaxing Weekend

We had a great time during our stay at Whiskey Rapids. The house is well-equipped inside and out and has plenty of space. Between taking the canoe out on the lake, fishing off the pier, sitting around the fire at night and simply enjoying the beautiful scenery, we couldn't have asked for more in our stay. We will certainly come back for another stay!

We enjoyed out stay at Whiskey Rapids. The home was perfect! Very clean and inviting. Everything was just as stated on the website and our hosts were very accommodating. I would recommend anyone to stay at this property. You wont be disappointed.

FANTASTIC ACCOMMODATIONS!!

Great host and house, beautiful water and surroundings, quiet neighborhood. Keep in mind this is a flowage so there is great fishing and areas for waterworks, but there are stumps and rocks. The bait shop and Darryl can help guide safe passage from the launch. LOVED every bit of the property, especially the nighttime fires overlooking the water. 5 stars all the way!!

Beautiful home with plenty of extras.

The property owners were very responsive to our questions. The weather was not perfect but the house and surroundings were! The only downfall is that there are 40 stairs (yes I counted them) to get to the water which may be a problem for older people. Thanks to all the people that are willing to share their homes so people like us can enjoy them for a family vacation.

A Slice of Heaven

We had an amazing time staying at this cabin!! The pictures online are beautiful, but do not do the cabin justice. It was wonderful and more than we hoped. It was very clean and roomy. Plenty of room for our family. The lake was so beautiful and a great lakefor fishing. Laura and Darryl were an awesome couple to rent from. They answered all questions and made sure that they provided all we would need. I cannot recommend this cabin enough!! Thank you for providing such a beautiful home for us to create many Up North memories in!!!

Wonderful vacation rental!!!

This cabin is beautiful! Everything was super clean and ready for guests. We loved that it had a "mudroom" to keep all of our outdoor stuff: fishing gear, rafts, shoes, life jackets, etc. It had enough room for all eight of us to be comfortable. We had fun boating the "chain" of lakes - fishing, relaxing and seeing the amazing wildlife. We saw several Bald Eagles, loons, ducks and the best part - a deer swimming across the narrow section of the lake. Owners were quick to respond to any questions or concerns and it was obvious they put a lot of effort into providing a high quality vacation rental for families. Highly recommend!

Quiet and Relaxing Stay

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whiskey Rapids. The property was exactly as advertised with no surprises. Communication with any questions we had was excellent and answered quickly. The house is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac overlooking the mouth of the Somo river with quick and easy access to the main lake. Some areas can be tricky to navigate near the cabin due to the submerged trees. However, Darryl and Laura provided a map with a safe access route which helped tremendously. It is a very quiet and peaceful area with great fishing to be had. Out of the main part of town, but still close enough to make a quick run into town if needed. I would highly recommend this property. It is definitely one of the nicer VRBO's I have stayed in throughout the years. You won't be disappointed.

Whiskey Rapids summer vacation

This was a beautiful home we enjoyed for our summer vacation in Wisconsin. The house had ample space to accommodate our two children, my husband and myself, and my mother and father in law. We actually didn't even use the basement because the kids slept in the loft. The house was clean and well decorated. Daryl and Laura thought of everything! We fished off the dock and brought a boat. Laura and Daryl provided us with a map to negotiate the waters in the area. We had fires in the firepit in the evenings, which was so relaxing. We took the kids tubing in the area and they had fun swinging off the rope swing on the island across from the house. We played on the paddleboard, which is harder than it looks. While the boys went fishing, the girls went shopping. There were plenty of shops to explore in Tomahawk. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation, and we plan to go back.

Location, Location, Location

Everything from booking to check out was excellent. Perfect communication. The house and property are just as described. The perfect location for relaxing and enjoying lake views. Highly recommend.

Hidden Gem

My family really enjoyed this property. The Mohawksin lake and surrounding area was definitely something most people don't get around to checking out. And that's a shame. As the locals know, this is a great area with much to offer. The water is cleaner than many of the Eagle River area lakes. Swimming was fantastic! We enjoyed the little cove near Bradley Park - a great place to hike among the tall, serene old pine trees. There is a huge rec area also for skiing and tubing. There are two bar/restaurants to stop off the water. The Somo flowage area - to which this property is at the entrance - is a beautiful little canoeing area and well worth checking out. The place is great - you can fit three separate families, one on each floor. There are 3 full bathrooms, 2 on main floor and one in basement. One full family with kids could go on 2nd floor, and one full family with kids in basement with the game/media room. One couple in the master BR on first floor. Only VERY minor complaint is that there could be one more comfortable chair to sit on in the living room. The other comment is, be careful on the lakes - there are some areas that you need to understand well before boating around - read the supplied materials and warnings. Once you know the things to avoid, it's clear sailing. We had a great time - you will too!

So Relaxing!

My family and I were impressed with the cleanliness, decor, comfort, charm, and views with this property. We appreciated the relaxing calm the water views brought, the scenic beauty as we canoed and kayaked, the peacefulness and serenity of the neighborhood, and the special touches Darryl and Laura provided. Whiskey Rapids is truly a special place to be!

Awesome Place !!!!

We were going to Tomahawk for the fall ride and looking for 8 people. Hard to find without breaking the bank. This was reasonable for us with a scenic drive back off the main drag. The view was incredible overlooking the lake. All the amenities were better than the pics. Property manager was in contact with me and available anytime if we had a question. Definitely will be interested in booking again. Thank You for letting us stay there , Patrick

Lovely Home

We had a wonderful week! The home is situated nicely, comfortable and very well equipped. It has everything you want or need in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and for the lake. The lake itself is beautiful but a bit tricky as it is a shallow flowage with stumps etc. Laura and Darryl are attentive and gracious hosts. Thank you!

Family Vacation

The house fit our needs perfectly. Plenty of space and equipped with all the necessities. We were really glad we rented the pontoon boat. Once we figured out the lake we enjoyed our daily boat trips. A good spot for a family vacation!

Wonderful property!!

We loved whiskey rapids! Laura and Darryl were wonderful to work with. They answered every question we had. The house was stocked with everything we could possibly need. We loved the pontoon and the kids loved the paddleboard. The pictures don't do this house justice. The view from the deck was beautiful and peaceful!

Perfect getaway

This was a perfect getaway over the holiday break. The house and bedroom setup was great for our family of three young kids and being able to hang out, play games and watch movies. The lake had 14” of ice which also made it great for hiking and ice fishing while also sledding at a park in Tomahawk. Owners were great and helped to answer questions leading up to and during visit. Would definitely return.

Perfect Retreat

Had an amazing experience at Whiskey Rapids! the pictures simply don't do it justice! INCREDIBLE views and a cabin that has everything you could need for a long weekend or an extended stay. The home owners were more than accommodating, and were very responsive. Simply put, STAY HERE!
