Amazing Oceanfront Condo 🐠 with Out of this World Ocean Views! 🌅 - Hale Kona Kai 203

True and Full oceanfront condo with a lanai (balcony) that almost hangs over the beach. See the ponds below where the turtle and the eels want to come and feed. Let the sounds of the sea make you sleep after a day of sightseeing or relaxation. Both the bedroom and living room face the sea, where you can see dolphins all year round and whales in season. Home to central A/C, King bed, tub/shower combo, and outdoor dining.

Hale Kona Kai is an intimate, absolute oceanfront complex of 39 one-bedroom condos. Located on the outskirts of Kona City, it is off the main road providing calm, ocean view relaxation from every device. Located just south of Royal Kona Resort, excellent dining at Huggo's or Don Beachcomber's is a two-minute walk away and other restaurants are just a fun stroll away. The white sand of Honl's Beach is less than a quarter mile south and the Kona Farmer's Market half a mile north.

The complex offers an elevator that provides convenient access for all. On the ocean side, you'll find a heated salt water swimming pool and a grill on the south end of the complex. There are laundry machines available on each level.

Each unit includes designated parking, safe WIFI, & cable TV. Both units, like Lanais, are non-smoking and Hale Kona Kai is non-smoking. Each floor has coin-operated washers and dryers for your use. Each condo does not have its own washer/dryer.

Overall this is a very nice unit overlooking the ocean, and is within walking distance of Ali'i drive where there are lots of shops and dining options. Check-in and location instructions were easy to follow. I would stay again at this unit.

The accommodations were completely unacceptable. The air conditioning was being provided buy in room floor units. The overall odor in the room was extremely offensive. Furniture and cabinets were well worn, and it generally did not feel as though the unit was sanitary. The bed and mattress unit were old enough that the Support rim for the mattress could be felt all the way around the unit. The only positive for the unit is the view, but that did not overcome the unacceptable of the interior.. I would never recommend rental of this unit. And in fact did not even stay the first night the only reason for giving it one star was for the ocean view.

The waves break right outside of your patio

The interior might be a bit dated but works fine. The view is breathtaking. We could’ve just sat on the balcony the entire week. I would totally do it again.

Fantastic stay

Location is 5 stars! Can’t wait to return someday. Condo has all you need and beach chairs, boogie board, coolers and some snacks were a nice touch. Was nice to have some non perishables in the kitchen as well.

Multiple stays

We’ve stayed here multiple times because it’s easy walking distance to the tourist part of Alli’i Drive. It’s also right on the water and the views are completely unobstructed. It’s an older property, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. That doesn’t bother us at all, and we’ll continue to stay here.

Location is the best

This particular unit truly needs updating. This is our third year staying at Hale Kona Kai, and we were disappointed. There was only the couch in the living room, and we were told the chair had broken and it hadn’t been replaced. There was one very dim light in the living room, so reading in the evening was out. A screen was missing off one of the bedroom windows. We reported the fridge leaking the day after we arrived. It wasn’t fixed for the rest of our stay-9 more days.on the plus side, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking, the lanai furniture was high for ocean views, and when we asked that the barbecue be cleaned, it was done that day. The location can’t be beat for walking into town. We are returning next year, but in a different unit.

i think we left a couple of things inside your condo: a pillow (which I have had for many years! and Charlie left his heart monitor he wears when biking and running. would love to get both mailed to us if possible

Great location - nice extras

The location is fantastic. A breakfast nook that is almost right on top of the ocean. Perfect place to watch the beautiful sunsets. The unit included two Tommy Bahama chairs, which came in quite handy. They included a coffee maker and enough coffee for about 3 mornings - Thanks! Everything in Hawaii is damp due to the extreme humidity. Things also get sandy. For that reason, don't expect the same level of upkeep as the Hilton or Marriott, but overall the unit was clean. You don't go to Kona to sit inside anyway.

Incredible Views

We booked this property for the incredible views and the location! Everything was just as described! Upon arrival the host had left us with a sweet note for our anniversary and some sweet welcome gifts. The property was comparable to the pictures shared. However, the three nights we were there construction crews were outside our balcony and working in the two rooms next to us as early as 8 am. I reached out to the host and was told to reach out to the property manager who was already aware. Aside from this issue, if the property were to receive some updating we would definitely consider staying here again not just for the location but the views! It literally is situated over the rocks and the crashing of the ocean waves so loud you can hear them even with the doors shut and A/C on! Awesome!

Hi , everything was amazing , people very nice , everything’s very close .. Everything went smooth , I checked in like an hour earlier , was super convenient … Little down side , washers were out of service, so I could not wash my cloths , upstairs neighbors were a little noisy . But overall I love the place !! Thank you I would come back for sure !!

Big island stay

Our stay was great. The location had good access to all the touristy Places. I will see the property manager was outstanding and provided anything we needed. The only issue we had was a day of turned off water and no power but we just planned around it and it worked out fine

Gimme Them Waves!

What I like best about our visits to Hawaii is going out onto the lanai an hour and a half before sunrise, sitting in the dark with a pair of binoculars, drinking coffee, and watching the world gradually get light. I see the moon laying a shimmering strip of silver across the blue-black sea; lights from planes, ferries, and an occasional cruise ship; even tiny lights on outrigger canoes; I hear the big waves exploding against the rocks below. Once the sun comes up, I sight an occasional humpback whale. And I remember why I'm there. Fifty extra degrees of Fahrenheit helps, too. For all this, there is no place better than Hale Kona Kai. We had a little trouble at the start: couldn't open the lock box to get our key. However, after we made a phone call, Ryan the property manager and handyman rushed right over and extracted our keys for us. The next day he re-attached some wires in the back of the TV, so we could watch in the living room as well as the bedroom. He was very friendly as well as knowledgeable and efficient. All in all, we had a wonderful week in Kona.

Beautiful Ocean View and Great Location!

We enjoyed spending time on the lanai to dine, watch the sunset, and have a nightcap under the moon. The lanai practically hangs out over the lava rocks and the ocean waves are so peaceful. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants including Quinns Almost By the Sea which is a huge Green Bay Packers bar. The building is older but parking is free, there is a gas grill on the property, the kitchen had everything we needed, and you can’t beat the views. We would definitely stay here again.

Christmas in Kona

Views of and proximity to ocean are amazing! We spent lots of relaxing time on the porch overlooking the bay looking at sealife (fish, crabs, dolphins, a couple whales blowing and surfacing once, and a sea turtle right there below the condo porch. Condo complex quiet and peaceful with only sound of ocean to lull you to sleep at night A few minor improvement suggestions: microwave barely functional need combo to shed for trash disposal (key provided won't work on combo lock on shed) barely enough toilet paper and dishwasher detergent to get throught the week

Perfect location

Amazing waterfront condo. We loved walking to town. It was private and we loved the sound of the waves. Great place to relax.

Hale Kona Kai

The property was as described online, check in to the property was simple, there is adequate space for a couple and the full kitchen was amply stocked with all you needed to prepare meals in house. We did not use the pool but heard sounds of others enjoying it. The property is in a very good location and walkable to many sights, shopping and restaurants on Ali'i Drive. And the view...amazing! However, there were numerous concerns I had regarding the cleanliness of the unit. Also, the afternoon sun, while beautiful, raised the afternoon and early evening temperature in the unit such that the room AC units were struggling to maintain the coolness. The stability and venting to the outside was inadequate and using the central air gave me pause due to the cleanliness. If issues were corrected (I have suggestions) I would definitely rate this property much higher and consider staying on my next visit.
