Oceanfront Dunluce is your castle in the sand. Located in the exclusive St. Waves subdivision, Dunluce offers guests access to the subdivision pool (in the clubhouse), tennis courts, and just out the front door, one of the most stunning and best swimming beaches on the Outer Banks. The ground level has good parking, two carports, and an outside shower. This classic Hatteras style cottage offers 360-degrees of wraparound decks on the first-level. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed, TV, and deck access, and also shares a full bath with a whirlpool tub with the second queen bedroom featuring a TV and deck access. A full hall bath with tub/shower is close to the hall laundry station. The west-facing third bedroom has two twins and deck access, the fourth bedroom has a pyramid bed and deck access, and the fifth bedroom has deck access, a TV, and a large bath with a whirlpool tub and a shower. A furnished loft with super views is accessed by a ladder. The upstairs great room has tall ceilings, warm hardwood floors, a half bath, comfy resort furniture, a wet bar, and an entertainment center with a TV, DVD player, and a stereo. The large, well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast island, a breakfast dinette, Mexican-tile flooring, and an oceanfront dining area. A wide, furnished oceanfront deck catches all views. If you are willing to rough it, this is the place for you. Needs overall updates to what could be a great oceanfront place.

Not a well maintained property

This property on a positive note had enough room for everybody but hasn’t been maintained over the years at a standard that should’ve been maintained for today’s travelers. The decorations were not nice the furniture and surfaces were all old the beds were small and uncomfortable and old. We really felt like it was something we would not be paying top dollar for. To be honest this place is Livermore from not bring a smile to your face

Pictures are not reflecting the general condition of the house, which is poorly maintained - mold around window frames, screen doors are all broken, mold in the ventilation docks). The house was not cleaned prior to our arrival - kitchen floor was so dirty that our feet weee all black after 30 minutes walking in the house). Shhet was missing for one of the bed - it was painful to be able to obtain it.

Stay away from this rental!

I have to say first that Hatteras Realty is a great company to deal with. They were very efficient in correcting our problems the best they could. This house was beyond what they could fix. There are things wrong with this house that could be dangerous. The electrical is a joke. Outlets on the kitchen counter are blown out so they had to be disconnected. The deck around the house is scary to walk on. If you don’t get slivers in bare feet you might fall through the rot spots. The wood chairs on the deck are broke and some not usable. The smoke dectector in the loft is removed with battery hanging out. The sliding glasss door is nailed shut because the deck is missing. Popcorn ceiling is peeling in many places and within the week we stayed there pieces were collecting on the floor. I’ve never wrote a review before but I feel I have to tell people to stay away from this house for their own safety. The nice part of the house was the location and the community pool. That is why I gave it a star.
