This home was very clean. We added the linen and towel service. The kitchen equipment is 5 star. There were Utensils knives pots pans kitchen towels coffee machine and cleaning products. The listing agent should take pictures of the kitchen drawers. The only thing I needed was my vitamix. This is very homey and not a sterile rental. Someone put love into this home and it shows. We loved the private beach. No crowds and less than 5 minute walk. If you want to go shopping or out to dinner the town of Lewes has a lot of options. We went on a boat tour from Lewes and saw dolphins. It was a fun filled vacation.

Location is wonderful. Love being able to walk to the beach. The flies were pesky.For the price of this house, it was not very clean. I ended up cleaning a very dirty vent by the blue sofa and sweeping the entrance, it was very full of sand under the carpet and in the screened in porch. All the beach chairs and the beach wagon was a plus but not noted anywhere. My grandchildren did notice anything amiss and had a wonderful time…the main floor toilet lid was wonky and when it got closed the bracket broke

The house was beautiful and cozy for a 4 day getaway. The house was equipped with all kitchen necessities, beds were extremely comfortable (soft) and every night was a good sleep. Do not bring any beach chairs or caddy. This house was fully equipped with very nice chairs and so many. There was t anything they did not have in that house! The only item I wished was there was a book for guests. It would have been nice to know what was around this little quaint town.Beautiful place to stay! Our crew wants to return next year to this same house for our annual trip.Thank you

Annual Stewart Beach Week

Great House. However, distance from beach was a bit of a problem for several. The ad should indicate that there are stairs that may limit mobility and safety for elderly. One must also be prepared to battle insects, particularly mosquitos. The Stewarts had a fantastic week!!!

Vacation 2023

The home was beautiful, spacious,well supplied, and a short walk to the beach. Mosquitoes and black biting flies made the walk seem longer. Other vacationers of 20-30 years, assured us this nor the jellyfish were the norm at Broadkill Beach, not to judge on one bad week. So, we bought bug spray and carried on. We enjoyed hunting ghost crabs at night with the grands, beach bonfires under the stars and making smores. Discovered the corner store has the best homemade ice cream, we made a few trips.We would definitely come back again.

Large home in very private location

This was our 3rd year in Broadkill Beach - 1st time at this house. . This house was the most remote location we had. Great if you are craving peace and quiet. Lovely house but lots of items very old. Dishwasher did not work. Took 3 days to get someone to come look at it. They had to order parts so we never had a dish washer to use. Washer and dryer not working either. Property manager not responsive to helping us. Made several calls before we had some response. Home holds lots of people and could be fun if you have a group. Beach walk isn’t bad except the sand is so hot getting there. .

Great House for large Family or Multiple Families

The house is great for large families, there is penalty of space to spread out and multiple bathrooms. The house was stocked with many of the essentials. You are close to the beach and fun activities. If they can get some of the minor things worked out it would be a 5 star place. Some of our issues:says a 2 minute walk to beach. But there was some miscommunication if you can actually use the beach at the end of the road, we received two different messages from the reality company. We finally asked the neighbors that live there and they said we could access the beach there, the other direction was a 15 minute walk to get onto the beach. Upon arriving we found the door standing wide open it was kind of concerning. The door is difficult to lock so you need to double check that the door is closed tightly so the lock can catch. After unpacking we were disappointed in the fact the place had an ant, fly and mosquito issue not sure if some was from the door being left open.You need a fly swatter which was left on the counter so must have been an issue before, and all of your snacks need to be sealed in containers, ants actually made their way into the fridge. The bench at the table was held together with bungee cords, no adults sat on that side of the table. The big issue as I seen this on a review from July of last year someone pugged in a phone charger in at the end of the bar and it tripped the breaker for the fridge and the wine fridge, it took some time to figure it out.

Great Location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very nice week weatherwise with my whole family! We were a bit disappointed in the condition of the property because it would not take much work to make this property really nice. The Great Room carpet was badly stained and needs to be replaced (like about a year ago) and is not a good first impression. Lots of bulbs burned out when we got there, a kitchen cabinet off its hinges, gas grill was not cleaned for a long time and grease on the lower catch trays smoked continually when we tried to use it. The deacon's bench in the kitchen is unsafe to sit on and is falling apart. A GFI in the kitchen tripped when the dustbuster charger was plugged into the outlet. The wine and other refrigerator are also on the same circuit. Fortunately, that was discovered before we lost a week off food. Regarding the question of "would I recommend this property to a friend?", a resounding YES if the above issues were taken care of first! Location is very nice, close to the beach and water. It's a bit of a hike with beach chairs and all. Many residents use small 4 wheelers to transport all their stuff. We discovered that you can safely keep the chairs and umbrellas on the beach overnight so the hauling was minimized! Black flies are nasty if the wind is from the west...fortunately only 1 day of the week was bad! All in all, I would definitely return because the area is so peaceful and low key. All in all, the house served its purpose and 6 adults and two kids were very comfortable. The room description on VRBO was more accurate than the rental contract, as the rental contract did not mention a king sized bed even though there is one. The ground floor has a queen bedroom and 1/2 bath and also a separate bunk room, ideal for a family with a bunch of kids (I think there were 3 bunks six beds), has it's own bathroom. First floor has Great Room, Kitchen, 1 queen bedroom and a separate bath/laundry combo. 2nd floor has a queen bedroom,a king bedroom and a loft area and full bath.

We ordered linen service and had fun with the 7 single sheets realizing there was a bunkie room. It would have been nice if we could get a different price for only using the upstairs rooms. Close to beach. The house could use an update inside but there was enough seating for everyone. Location was close to Milton and Lewes.

We missed the ones who could not attend though. The convenience of walking out the door, going a few hundred feet and being on a private beach is simple wonderful. The house is large enough to accommodate the family that was there. The property description is accurate. It was clean and well maintained. I would recommend the property. We did go to Rehoboth for dinner one night without issue. My three suggestions would be to have another small refrigerator, possibly downstairs. I did this in our beach house and it was a huge improvement rather than shoving things in the main fridge. The next suggestion is for working lights at the outdoor shower. We all love using that even at night. The last suggestion is for a more powerful shower head in the third floor bathroom. That is just a thing I like powerful shower heads. We are already planning for next summer.

11 California Ave broadkill beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was great- exactly as described for rooms with a large,well stocked kitchen and a bathroom on every floor. Plenty of room for our large family. Close to the beach with easy access to walk over. There were a few minor housekeeping issues upon our arrival: wet laundry in the washer, dishes in the dish washer, lots of sand in the master suite bed and the grill was really too dirty to be used. We were easily able to remedy those issues ourselves though. I would definitely recommend staying here. The beach was not crowded at all but it was a short drive to visit Rehoboth Beach for the crowds if you want that scene! We had a great stay!

Perfect Broadkill Haven

My family stayed at this location for a week this summer. First time staying here and it won't be the last. Clean and spacious with areas to spread out. Local neighbors were a delight to chat with and the beach just steps away never disappoints. Great way to have three generations spend time together after a long year.

Great location

We rented this house for a little get together with some friends. The property was perfect what what we needed, very clean and with a nice set up. The neighborhood is quite and the locals are friendly. A short walk up to the beach a quick ride down to the broadkill beach store. I would definitely stay at this location again if the opportunity arose.
