Elegant cabin in the woods. 3 story log cabin nestled at the end of a 500 yard driveway through the woods on a hill over looking a beautiful spring fed fishing pond. Enjoy the ambiance of an abundance of wild life from both the front and two raised large back decks. Take advantage of 60 acres of land with 3 ponds. Hike through the woods and open fields. Relish in the tranquility of feeling like you are away from all civilization, but less than a mile from local restaurants, stores, and medical centers.

You are in the country so expect so. You are in the country bugs should be expected. We do have pest control. But it is on acreage. Wasp and spiders do come and go.

We loved the house and grounds. The location was so peaceful and we all found it restful. It was a great location for attending a wedding in Collinsville. The accommodations were well stocked- plenty of towels, kitchen supplies and shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Great, modern, new build home in a very quiet area. Great views of the stars and away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. We slept well there with great beds and comfy bedsheets.

Nice location and loved the views. Perfect amount of space for our family. We had fun fishing in the pond and caught a few small fish (which we released back into the pond). There was a lot of pet hair still on the floors/rugs so we vacuumed that up ourselves. Other than that the house seemed pretty clean. The propane tank for the grill was empty, so we ran down to Dollar General and got a new tank which the property managers reimbursed us for right away. The front door smart lock just never worked right for us and we couldn’t use it - but luckily our whole party never needed to leave at once so there was always someone at the house to manually lock from the inside of the house (the house was unlocked when we arrived on the first day).

Comfortable for large groups

House is very comfortable and kitchen was great for preparing meals. The only challenge was the code not working on the front door. It would take several times to get it to open or lock.

Tranquil Hideaway

The house was very nice and clean. It had everything and more. You can sit by the water and enjoy the nature sounds or snuggle up on the recliner sofa and watch a movie on the giant television with surround sound. My only advise is, if stairs are a problem, this is not your house. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Just barely okay

The convenience of 5Br/4Ba was great and the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and dishes for cooking meals.But the staircase is horribly unsafe. One of our party actually fell down the stairs and it could have been a disaster if she would not have caught herself before tumbling down a second flight. She is pretty bruised up. Not at all kid friendly. We had to keep a very close eye on our crawler with the non-compliant stairs and railings. The propane tank on the grill was empty. We had burgers ready to throw on and after about 2 minutes, the tank ran out so we had to switch to the oven. (And the stove vent doesn’t work). Bring bug spray! We killed many, many wasps both in and outside.

This beautiful house was just perfect! We came to Gainesville to visit Oak Meadow Ranch which was amazing! We loved staying at the house because it was located in the perfect spot, Private and perfect for my family! We loved the pond and the kayaks. Everything about the house was wonderful. The only suggestion would be maybe a Keurig. We would definitely stay at this house again in the future! Thank you!

Family Resting Place

From the ease of check-in to sad goodbye, we loved this place! I was looking for a quiet place for my grown children and grandchildren to stay, away from all the excitement of a wedding. Warhorse Ranch was the perfect setting. Quiet mornings for sipping coffee on the porch, and lots of space for everyone to be comfortable. My grandchildren said they would “ love to come back” and that was all this grandma heart needed to hear! Hope to make this a regular family meeting place!

We used the location to stage for our son's wedding. We hosted the rehearsal dinner there and the bridesmaids stayed with us Thursday night. The only issue we experienced was the A/C unit downstairs would not turn off. temperatures dropped to low 60's overnight downstairs. Loved the stay and location.

Family eclipse trip

Comfortable cabin with plenty of room for our group. We enjoyed the sitting/visiting areas and the deck overlooking the pond. Only a couple of the party were adventurous enough to take the kayaks out on the lake but they had fun We appreciated that there was a dishwasher and washer and dryer however neither the washer or dryer was very efficient. The only safety issue we had was the stairs going to lowest floor, no stair rail for lowest set of steps. Two of our eldest (both in their early 70s) had some trouble navigating. Overall it was a great place for a few days visit

Cabin in the Woods

Great cabin in the woods. We were in the area for my daughter's wedding. It was close and met our needs. There are 5 bedrooms which was more than what we even needed. The only thing I would caution about is if you have young children like we did, the stairs are extremely dangerous. There are no spindles in the railing on the stairs. It is just a pipe railing. A Child could fall through easily to the other stairs below---it would be a long fall on wooden stairs. Also, the log railing on the overlook from from the top floor looking over into the living room does not go all the way to the floor. Our 2 year old granddaughter could have easily fit and fallen through the space. If you don't have small children, the house would be fine, but it definitely has too many opportunities for small children to get seriously hurt. It has a nice upper deck for relaxing and looking out at the pond. The kitchen is well appointed, although we were too busy and not there enough to cook anything, but there is a good little mexican restuarant right down the road.

Our family had a great time kayaking and fishing on the property. The house had lots of room and everything we needed. We loved sitting on the porch at the end of the day to watch the sunset. Thanks for a great stay!

Review of Dove Ranch

We were very disappointed in this property. Not as shown on pictures. Lock on gate was first issue. Should be told it's a clip and not a true lock and how to open it. There is a wasp issue. You have three active nests we saw and my grandson got stung by a live one in the room on the top floor. Room to the right. There were a few dead ones we found but a live one also on the floor he didn't see and stepped on and got stung. Another live one had to be killed. Needless to say I needed a five bedroom house and since after that no one wanted to sleep in that room it was not used. There were towels and linens left in the dryer that we ended up folding up. The deadbolt on the door downstairs only locks if you pull up on the door and was not easy to lock. Definitely couldn't do any kayaking or paddleboat since almost no water. Grass was very overgrown and the picture looked nothing like what's on the website. Rooms were okay but the wasp issue and the gate issue were definitely a turn off. We could see outside on some parts of the home so. Needs updated and some work done to it and I would suggest adding a hot tub for times when you have barely in water and can't kayak or paddleboat. Wasn't sure about hiking any of the property either as there were several trees down and like I said early lots of very tall not well taken care of grass and grounds. For the money paid will definitely not return to this rental.

Beautiful Property/Needs Updating

My family rented this property while attending a family wedding in Valley View. Beautiful property. Great House. VERY comfortable beds. Owner needs to replace broken recliner chairs to provide more seating in the living area. Inside stairs and balcony railings are not to code for small children or pets. We would highly recommend this property once the things above are addressed! Beautiful area!

Scenic and peacful.

Trails, fishing and kayaking. Wonderful place to disconnect and spend great time with family. Firepit by large pond, well lit at night. Good parking. Just make sure you bring a lot of bottled water. If you plan on using the barbecue pit you might want to bring a can of propened. 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths on 3 stories was perfect for extended family members. Recommend highly. Will go again.
