Great small house
The owners are very easy to work with. While small inside, the house has plenty of character and is conveniently located. The porches are lovely. My only negative is that several of the lights did not work and there was no dishwasher.. Overall the beds are comfortable with nice linens and we enjoyed our stay!
In the middle of it all
This property is great for those who want immediate access to campus. Especially Stirlings, the coffeeshop. It was clean and quiet.
Perfect location, cozy space
We spent 4 nights at Sideways and could not have asked for a more peaceful getaway. The space was open, comfortable, and so quiet. The location was just perfect for exploring on foot or bike, we spent a lot of time doing both but just as much time relaxing, reading, and cooking in the well equipped kitchen. We hope to back soon!
Convenient to Sewanee campus with charming front porch
Pros: Good sheets, plenty of towels and supplies, huge front porch, walkable to Sewanee campus
Cons: Did not sparkle like on-line photos due to faded flag, mildew on exterior, and poor interior lighting. It’s behind another house which further detracts from curb appeal. Hard mattresses ok for some, but I’m not a fan. I suppose my expectations were too high due to other reviews and price.
Great stay at Sideways.
My wife, two children and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sideways over the past weekend. It is clean, comfortable, convenient to central campus, and a perfect home from which a couple, small family, or small group of friends can enjoy Sewanee.
Hammock, 1 porch, 1 deck.

Why Crystal Hutton, Scott Evans, & Zach Goodyear chose Sewanee
You can't beat a week or weekend in Sewanee. You'll leave feeling stress free and ready to come back again soon! It's a good family getaway or a couples retreat. Again, it's not fancy, but it's a rustic cabin close to everything. That's why we love it.
What makes this House unique
Eating at Shenanigan's, Crust, Ivy Wild, and The Blue Chair. Hiking (the bookstore has a great book called 'Go Take A Hike' that is cheap and shows all of the great hikes in the area - pick up a copy when you're there!). If you're into high adventure, the Ocoee river is a decent drive, but doable. We don't rock climb, but for people who do there are apparently some good sites around. We don't have cable but do have some DVDs and a DVD player that likely works.
