Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

We love our house. We have been going to this house on the Cape for 25 years and would like to share it with you. Located on a quiet, shady, sand road. Great for relaxing, reading, listening to quiet music, playing croquet, picnicking, etc. When you do decide to venture out, there are lots of close options such as the National Seashore beaches, the bay beaches, the Massachusetts Audubon Society trails, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, hiking trails, shopping, miniature golf, the local drive-in movie, a Cape Cod Baseball game and lots more. Close to the regional high school and lower cape conference centers.

This single-story house has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, kitchen and a family room/dining area. The kitchen is fully-equipped and has a dishwasher. There is a washing machine and dryer in the basement. An outdoor shower and a detached garage are helpful additions.

At the bay beach, a half mile away and a nice after-dinner walk, the sunsets are spectacular. Each one is unique and it's a treat to watch the sun set over the water. Also, if you are up early enough, you can drive or bike over to the National Seashore and watch the sun rise over the ocean and then head to the local coffee shop for your morning coffee.

Great for visiting therapy and education professionals attending Eastham summer symposia.

Why Beth Young chose North Eastham

The house is on a quiet, sand road with a nice yard. Before we owned the house, we vacationed here for 25 years.

What makes this house unique

Peaceful setting. Comfortable solid house. Clean and well equipped

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great location for the Cape. Love the decor - straight out of the 50's. Interesting to look around. Ate at Mac's Shack in Wellfleet - excellent! Sat in Bar Area - lively. Breakfast at The Yolk in P-town a must. Thanks - nice place.

Simple and Perfect

We loved this house. It was very spacious and clean. We spent the majority of our time on the screened porch. It was very close to the bay which made our stay that much better. We highly recommend this home.

Great classic Cape Cod cottage

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we had a terrific stay. Great location, comfortable, well-equipped kitchen, very quiet. Easy walk to the beach. House has quirks; locks on outside doors are difficult to open. But we'd definitely rent this place again.

Great location on Cape Cod

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was great -- straight out of the fifties and sixties with regard to decor, but modern appliances. The Knicks knack collections was fun to look at. Reason I say this first is because our cottage in Wisconsin is the same. Walk in and all worries and problems seem to melt away.

Setting is perfect for the slower pace of the middle of the cape and easy drive (thirty minutes) to anything worth visiting. Dining choices are spectacular.

Would stay here again

Easy, clean, affordable, close to beach

  • 4 of 5

This place was exactly as it appears in the photos - easy check in and check out process, clean, and affordable for young vacationers hoping to be close to the beach and Provincetown. Bring your own helmets for the bikes, though! They are not provided.

Close to Bay Beach, quiet neighborhood, too hot in August

  • 2 of 5

House located in nice quiet neighborhood, 1/2 mile from bay beach (which was great!) and minutes from Route 6 Eastham restaurants and Wellfleet theater. Appreciated that owner had bicycles available to use and that house had wifi (so we could use laptops). We rented house in August- who knew there would be a heatwave the week we were there! House was very hot inside when we got there and then later in week it got up to almost 100 degrees outside one day and as the house has no air, so it became an oven inside. We had brought our own window & stationary fans but it didn't help much unfortunately because so hot ..so it became difficult to be inside or sleep our last 3 days. Owner had provided a portable air unit but unfortunately it blew a fuse as soon as it was turned on; access to fuse box was down an outside hatch and had to climb down into basement to replace the fuse. We never tried it again for fear of blowing another one. Owner provides washer &dryer- but they are down the basement hatch too so we never used them. House could use to have fuse box updated to electrical panel and insulation put in so that house would not be so hot (felt like the sun was baking right thru the roof). Next time we go to Cape we will definitely look for a house with air conditioning.

Owner's Response: Hi Theresa, we are sorry that it was hot when you visited in the summer but glad you liked the location of the house. The fuse situation is resolved and the portable air conditioner is available for those who stay in the future. We love our little house and are proud of how clean and comfortable it is. We also enjoy the quiet road that it is on. It is a very peaceful setting.
