Our group had a wonderful stay at this place! The property itself was great for a quick trip up north and we enjoyed all of the games/activities throughout the house. Would stay here again and definitely recommend the property to anyone traveling to the Higgins Lake area!

What a perfect location for a 3-day weekend trip to end the summer! Place was very clean, well appointed, and had everything we needed. Location was quiet, but close to everything we wanted to do. Will return for a longer stay next year!!

We enjoyed our time at Barney’s place and all the amenities it had to offer. I don’t think there was anything we needed that the house didn’t have. Super comfy beds, plenty of space and great location. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful

The cabin was amazing and had everything we could’ve needed. There were so many games and fun activities, fire pit, grill, and super close (walking distance) to Higgins Lake. We brought a pontoon and there were accommodations for the extra parking space we needed. The 4yo in our group was always occupied, lazing around and relaxing was so easy- inside and out. I couldn’t recommend this property more. We had a wonderful time.

It was great!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Barney’s Place! We had a few rainy days so we utilized the games in the garage game room - we had ping pong tournaments and foose ball tournaments. When the weather cleared up, we rode bikes, and played corn hole, ladder ball, checkers and Jenga. The fire pit was perfect and used every night for ambiance and making s’mores. There’s lots of rocking chairs on the back porch to relax on. It was the perfect place to stay!

2024 Vacation

This is the second time we stayed at the barney house. We love how it's prepared for us to relax and have fun. The screened in back porch is ideal, the garage and the back yard is set up for the kids to play. Plus its a short walk the the public beach area.

Annual trip

We enjoyed our annual trip this year. The weather wasn’t the greatest with the rain and fog but we made the most of it. This house had the perfect accommodations with a large 2 car garage and multiple games for us to play as we waited out the rain. It was the perfect accommodations for our friend group. We would definitely rent again.

Such a nice vacation home. Clean, everything working as described. Lots of extras such as yard games, bikes to use, ping pong, garage for our bikes, nice neighborhood, lovely yard space and deck, 2 refrigerators, close to lake. Loved the sunroom! Host so nice! Will definitely return!

Respite in the woods and near Higgins Lake

If you are looking for an amazing house with every amenity you could need, look no further. With 3 bedrooms (+ a murphy bed!) we had plenty of room for our group of 5. The kitchen was clean and well stocked, the 1.5 bathrooms were plenty for us, and we enjoyed the screened in porch, deck and outdoor games. We also brought our dog who enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and meeting the friendly Golden next door. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect getaway at Lake Higgins

We absolutely loved this retreat. It was secluded, yet a very short walk down to the park, beach and beautiful Lake Higgins. The inside of the home was beautifully decorated and stocked with everything we could need! The beds were incredibly comfortable with pillows and blankets galore. We made meals every day and took walks every morning and evening. Coffee on the back deck started each day off in the right direction and bomb fires at night, was the perfect ending to the most relaxing time we have had in over a year! Thank you and we are already planning our next trip up to what I feel is one of Michigan’s best kept secrets.
