Perfect location... Cabin is as described on the listing.
We really loved staying here, this cabin is perfect for 8 people. Grocery stores and restaurants are around the corner as well.
So glad you enjoyed our home. Stay again soon!
This house was adorable and loved the location. Right next to town and right by the trails which is perfect for sledding. The pictures on this website looks just like the house. It was very clean and smelled nice. Heidi was amazing at writing you back with all your questions answered within a few hours or the next day. I would definitely rent this house again.
Mackensie, So glad you are happy! Please stay again! Or consider a summer rental?
Perfect family holiday gathering
Ravens Nest is a lovely NW lodge home set in back in the snow covered trees yet within walking distance to Govenment Camp. The Christmas decor complete with much needed snowfall made our stay so enjoyable. The walls feature amazing art that you do not usually find in a rental. The kids loved the tower room!
Leslie, so glad you and your 3 generations of family had a lovely time!
Great winter break cabin
Very smooth experience from reservation to check out. Great location in Government Camp. Comfortable cabin for two adults and four kids. The 3rd floor Crows Nest was the popular spot for the kids. They bargained to take turns each night sleeping up there. (Steep spiral stairs up great for tweens, would be less ok for really young kids or mobility concerns) A great rental! Easy walk to shops and Ski Bowl East.
We are so glad you and your family had fun. Crow's nest is a winner!
Please stay again!
Great property. Close to walking trails and shops. Easy to get to the mountain to ski and then a great place to relax when you get back.
So glad you enjoyed your stay. Come back soon!

About Heidi Lawrence
Signe Lawrence's father moved to Mt. Hood in the late 1930's. He owned and operated a ski shop in the winters and conducted horse pack trips around Mt. Hood in the summers. In 1948 he married my mother and, as they say, the rest is history. I grew up in Government Camp. I am fortunate to have met and married my soul mate (pictured) who loves the mountain as much as I do with all the year-round recreational opportunities it has to offer. Now our children and grandchildren look forward to their trips to the mountain to play, breathe the alpine air, and feel more relaxed than ever in the high altitude. Gary and I own the Lawrence Gallery Sheridan in the wine country. Our Daughter-in-Law, Heidi Lawrence now manages the property.
Heidi Lawrence purchased this House in 1986
Why Heidi Lawrence chose Government Camp
The cabin is built on land that has been in the family since the 1930's. I grew up in the shadows of Mt. Hood, learned to ski on the nearby slopes, and hike most of the trails on the mountain. It is a recreational wonderland. Those fortunate enough to experience this place develop memories to last a lifetime.
What makes this House unique
The cabin is a five minute walk from the Government Camp town center as well as the Mt. Hood National Forest Service boundary. By car or shuttle it is minutes away from Timberling Lodge and three major ski resorts. In the summer, it is a beautiful area for backpacking, day hiking, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking and any manner of outdoor activities. An action park with an alpine slide, go carts, bungee jumping and other activities is available for entertaining kids. Wild flowers abound throughout the summer depending on the altitude and wild huckleberries may be picked in the late summer.
