Absolute paradise

  • 5 of 5

My in laws and my family had a wonderful time on Oahu at this beautiful, clean and relaxing house. We want to thank Mike, the owner, for a wonderful stay, for sharing his beautiful house, and for the fun catamaran rides. This house is absolutely a gem. It is located within 15 minutes to Honolulu and Kailuea. We can snorkel right by the ocean next to the house. We can walk all along the beach during low tide. We saw sea turtles in the water by the house. None of us wanted to leave the house most of the days. It was even harder to leave Oahu. We would love to stay at this house again when we return to Oahu.

The location is great...away from the big city with the beach at your footsteps!

  • 5 of 5

Great location away from the city and good starting point for many attractions on Oahu. Sunrise every morning over Rabbit Island with beautiful views and the beach steps away. We snorkeled right off of the property and all of the equipment was provided making it very easy (and cost effective). The owner came by every day we were there to check in things and he is incredibly generous. He also has a stash of some good jokes that seem to have been used a few times. The highlight of the stay was a trip on his trimaran sailboat that is moored right off of the beach. He took us out to Rabbit Island and around Waimanalo Bay. What an incredible view from the sea! Thanks very much and we look forward to staying again!

Family trip of a lifetime

  • 5 of 5

Our 12 family members met from all over the country for a vacation in Hawaii.

We stayed at this home and had an absolute blast!

The home was perfect for what we needed and so close to many places.

We snorkeled right in front of property and found many fish, an eel, sea turtle and a sea snake.

10 min walk down the beach found the best boogie boarding beach! It was sooo fun, kids spent 2 days only playing right there!

Beautiful Kailua beach was only 15 min by car. Kayaked out to twin islands to see Seals & turtles. Then hiked to falls.

At night sat outside looking at stars or sitting talking about the day in the hot tub.

By far everyone's highlight was our sailboat rides with Mike. Peaceful sailing on the ocean was amazing. Mike is great person and wonderful tour guide.

Vickie was so easy to work with. She took time to send many things to see and do on the island. Also the must eats!

10 days in paradise, thanks to our wonderful home on the beach and hosts.

Thanks for the memories!

Mahalo, The PoVeys

Amazing place

  • 5 of 5

Just finished 8 nights at the property. The views and sunrises were incredible and the yard was a lot of fun for the kids with the swings and treehouse. We all enjoyed walking out on the fishing pier as well. Mike took us sailing twice and he offered a few other times but we were busy. Sailing was great and tons of fun for the kids. The beach at the property was intermittently swimmable due to the unusually high tides (King's tide) happening while we were there. In the mornings there was sand visible and when the wind was calm, we were able to do some snorkeling right next to the pier and saw quite a few fish. There was also a fun area about a 5 minute walk to the left to swim - an old Hawaiian fishing pond which is now essentially a huge ocean swimming pool. Waimenalo has amazing beaches - Waimenalo Beach Park (5 minute drive) and Bellows (10 minute drive, military only except on weekends) and we drove to those beaches for boogie boarding. Both were beautiful, had great waves, and lots of shade! The house was stocked with everything we needed - boogie boards, chairs, water shoes, snorkeling gear, even a beach bag - this alone saved tons of money over renting these items. The inside of the house was relatively basic, but very clean and pleasant. The AC in each bedroom was really nice to have. The kitchens could have been a bit better stocked in terms of cooking supplies and utensils - when we did try to cook at the house we had look through both kitchens a few times to find what we needed and the cupboards are mostly empty. The town of Waimenalo was great - a laid back, local experience. There were very few tourists around and the locals at the restaurants, beaches, 7-11, and a church we visited were incredibly friendly. The local fishermen were out every morning in the water near the house and were friendly as well. The house is close to lots of great places - Kailua (15 minutes) was great for kayaking and eating breakfast at Cinnamon's, Makapuu Point Lighthouse trail (5 minutes - paved 1 mile hike with incredible views), Haunama Bay (10 minutes), Hawaii Kai (15 minutes - suburban area with groceries and lots of restaurants. Vickie (property manager) stopped by a few times and was very quick to respond when the hot tub was having some issues. Overall a fantastic experience. It was our first time in Hawaii and I don't think we could have chosen a better house and location. Would love to come back again someday.

Great vacation location for 12

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised to find that everything was just as advertised. The house was clean and well stocked with all of the items listed in the online information. We had a family of 12, 6 adults and 6 under the age of 17 and the house accommodated us nicely. We enjoyed the private setting and the beautiful surroundings. The pier and beach made for very interesting exploring and the turtle pond just down the beach provided great snorkeling. We also enjoyed the catamaran ride and the unexpected large wave just added to the excitement. This house is a great value for a large family or group and I suspect that the two smaller facilities would be good for smaller groups.

Stunning and Wonderful - on the BEACH!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for our week in paradise and sharing your home with us. It was a joy to be there and we loved every minute. Our plans are to come back! We loved having the beach right out our back door and the pier. The snorkeling was terrific and all the gear we could possible need was at the house for snorkeling including the largest selection of used water shoes I have ever seen :) There are also two fishing rods and we reworked them and put new hooks on and left bait in the freezer. Really it was fantastic! While we did many things all over the island, we did not have to. We could have stayed right there and been very happy the whole week. Thanks for the catamaran rides! What a host!

With much appreciation!

Our homes offer the best of both worlds: old Hawaiian style cottage living with all the modern amenities needed (plus more!). There are 3 homes on this stunning and spacious Waimanalo property.

We provide authentic island style accommodations right on the beach, away from the hustle & bustle of Waikiki. We are in the small country town of Waimanalo, but are still just 15 minutes to Kailua Beach & Lanikai Beach, 25 minutes to Honolulu Town & Diamond Head, 45 minutes to Pearl Harbor & a 1 hour drive to the infamous North Shore. Waimanalo is home to one of the World’s most beautiful beaches as well as a few locally owned & operated restaurants & shops.

When you look out your window or step out onto your lanai (porch); you’ll see a heavenly view of Rabbit Island & the infamous Waimanalo ocean blues plus the majestic Ko’olau Mountain Range! Stroll down to your front yard & hunt for sea glass & seashells because you are ON the beach…

Enjoy your morning coffee (we recommend Hawai’i-grown Kona) & sunrise on our private pier, on one of our hand-made benches or even on your lanai (porch). Be sure to be on the lookout for our Hawaiian sea turtle ohana! The endangered “Honu” aka Hawaiian Sea Turtles love playing in the crashing waves of the Pacific…

During winter months (December to March) keep your eyes open for Humpback Whales!

Waimanalo Beach offers some of the SAFEST swimming & MOST SUPERB snorkeling in the Hawaiian Islands! The natural reef & plentiful native corals & fish provide protection to our coastlines & a plethora of color under the sea, sure to captivate you & your family… Some favorite guests seen from our pier include: the State Fish; Humuhumunukunukuapua’a & State Mammal; the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal. We provide snorkels, fins & masks plus fishing gear upon request.

Waimanalo Bay Beach & Makapu’u Beach, both world-renowned for body surfing & are two of Oahu’s top boogie boarding beaches for beginners, are less than 2 miles from our Beachfront Villas PLUS we provide boogie boards for your use so you’re all good to go!
