The Carriage House - SGF- Near Ozark Empire Fairgrounds & Arena

Located 2 blocks from the Wilson Logistics Arena

Bring your family to this one-of-a-kind, restored and updated historic home. The open floor plan for the living room and dining room makes this a fun, stylish place to stay.
We added amenities that we would have liked ourselves like a full kitchen with both a stove, working oven and microwave.
With the old-fashioned look of the newly finished hardwood floors, you will feel at home in this space.
We set up a space to re-charge your electronics as well as comfortable beds to re-charge yourself :)

The space:
This is an older home fully restored with all new furnishings.

Why the "Carriage House" you might ask?
We named it that before we knew what the technical term of a carriage house is. This house is a full-sized home on a single piece of property with a backyard and everything. We named it the:

"Carriage House" because it has a stately carport you can park your "carriage" under (your car).

The couch folds out to sleep 2 additional family members.

We have pet sensitivities, so we wanted this space to be safe for others that have this same issue.

Guest access:
Parking in the driveway is best. There is parking for more than one car. The street at the Carriage House has a bicycle lane that goes by the house so parking on the street doesn't work so well.
The front porch has a 2-person swing for your enjoyment.
There is a concrete patio out the back door for you to enjoy the outdoors with some privacy.

We enjoyed our stay! The kitchen is well stocked. The bathroom has a grab bar next to the toilet. The towels were luxurious. The Maroon bedroom has a makeup vanity; the host has a facial cleanser that was refreshing and did not irritate my skin. The bunk bed has a double mattress on the bottom and a twin mattress on the top; perfect for childen and teens.

Fathers Day weekend

We appreciated all the extras provided in the home like laundry, towels, bedding,etc. Beds were very comfy just wished the pillows were better quality..very flat. Everything else was wonderful though..thank you!

Was everything it’s said!

My husband and I came to Springfield with our 16 year old twins to go to the aquarium for their birthday. The house was easy to find and checking in was very easy. The rooms were spacious and clean, and very comfortable, especially after driving for over three hours. We were not far from anywhere we were going. We would definitely stay there again if we come back!!

Adorable, clean cottage close to it all!

From the moment we pulled in , adorable little cottage about 10 minutes from downtown. We were in town for family weekend at MSU. This home is spacey and clean and the owners go above and beyond with the little details. Comfy mattress, plenty of coffee pods, tp etc… Most rentals I stay at don’t supply enough to last more than a day, and this home had what you needed for atleast two to three days! I would 100% recommend! We will be back! Thank you so much!

I would say that the place was clean but the overall experience was just okay The neighborhood is changing and it shows at the place. The driveway and house were shabby. The inside of the place was clean but had limited kitchen supplies 4 each of silverware, dishes, and coffee cups. We had stayed four nights as both of us loved regular coffee and wanted 2 cups each. We drank 3 decaf pads and left 7 decaf pads. We did drink 2 of their regular coffee. But we had to also bought some regular coffee. for the rest of the time. Some one else mentioned plastic for leftovers and that would be great. So I probably would not stay again. Need a mat or something for the shower. I would not want anyone to fall The supplies in the bathroom were good except for the mat

Overall the stay could have been better. The tv did not work, the showers were cold, when we we folded out the couch/bed there was a pair of underwear stuck inside and to top it all off there was a drive by (shooting) to the house right next to us which was shot up. Could have been better but after the drive by we realized this was an unsafe area; this area also consisted of many homeless individuals.

Cute and Quaint

House was perfect, we needed a place to stay for 2 nights while attending a sporting event for one of our kids during the days. The Carriage house was perfect for us. The beds were nice and comfortable, the kitchen was great for making quick meals and we enjoyed a little down time in the living room area. Thank you!

Clean and Quiet

Had a wonderful stay here while in town for my daughter's graduation. We were able to gather here for board games, movies, and spending time together. It was very restful and relaxing after a 1,000 mile drive from PA. I am keeping the Carriage House on my short list for the next visit!

Cozy, Charming and Peaceful Carriage House : )

My husband and I, along with my parents, stayed at this cute, quiet, charming rental for Mother's Day weekend and to celebrate 2 birthdays in our family. It was the sweetest, most charming, bungalow/cottage house. I felt right at home. The decor is Carriage themed, simple and nicely done. This is playing off of the side carriage porch and the carriage house/garage in the back. Backyard is fairly private with chain link fence. There are 2 patio chairs and side table on the back patio. There are also 2 foldable chairs in master closet. Loved, loved, loved the little breakfast nook with 2 chairs and small table. Dining table has a leaf in it, with 4 chairs. Living room furniture was very comfy. Beds were also comfy and firm (felt like memory foam), but not too firm. We didn't use the pullout couch (didn't need it). We used the master and second bedroom. Side note, I used the face wash provided on the master bedroom vanity, and it felt very nice. It didn't irritate my skin, and I have sensitive skin! Water pressure and temp in bath and kitchen was very good. Shower felt nice, and includes shampoo, condition, and body wash. One thing to note, there wasn't a bath mat, so if that's a concern, you may want to address it with the hosts. We were ok without it, but that was us : ). We used both the stackable washer/dryer and dishwasher during our stay, and both worked very well. Bed and towel linens were freshly clean, with extras in hall and bed closets. There is also a basic first aid kit in the hall closet. Overall, the house was very clean, and neatly organized : ). We noticed an air freshener in each room, and the house smelled pleasant and fresh. My favorite parts of the outside of the property, was the front porch swing and porch planters, front yard and tree that was in bloom (pink dogwood?), the carriage house/porch, the backyard, and quiet neighborhood. Loved the overall charm and peacefulness of the place. Great location as well : ). We had a minor issue with our code during check in, and a minor TV/internet reception issue the first day we were there, but hosts were very communicative and timely to address any issues. The TV remote was tricky, which the hosts address in the welcome binder. The buttons rock back and forth. Luckily, my husband is good at those things lol. I can't say enough good about Mary and Howard, and The Carriage House. Very nice people and a great experience. Highly recommend!!!

When we found this home we fell in love with it's charm. It is a solidly built. Close to the Springfield Fairgrounds and Event Center. We gave it modern amenities while keeping the old-fashioned charm.
