House with easy walk to the beach. 5 bedrooms and every bedroom has a full bathroom. Great house and great pool . The only issue is if you bring a dog to the obx it def has sand thistles. Consider bringing dog booties or baby powder to get the the thistles out . Def recommend the house !

Our second stay at this property We love it However I was dissatisfied with the full dishwasher of dishes and no soap in bathrooms ( some empty and or watered down), I feel the face clothes should be replaced Also the hosts are awesome and kind responses are quick I would come back once again!

We do note in our welcome information that we don’t regularly supply hand soap, though sometimes previous guests leave extras behind. Had four generations of families in this house for a week with plenty of space. Loved the house itself. The house was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen extremely well stocked. Loved the fact that every bedroom had its own bathroom! The pool was amazing.! Very nice sized and the water was warm. All enjoyed the game room and the outdoor shower was a must after spending the afternoon at the beach. The hosts were very responsive and great hosts. We did not like the fact that there was only 1 wash cloth and 1 towel per person for the week. The location of the house was both a blessing and a curse. We loved the close proximity to stores, miniature golf and of course the beach. However, the noise of the traffic was horrendous and we were there in the "off" season. The day to day traffic was bearable but the guys in trucks with loud pipes who would fly down the highway all hours of the day and night was beyond annoying. We wanted to enjoy the decks with our morning coffee before the grandkids got out of bed but the traffic noise was so loud we could not even carry on a conversation. We knew the house was on a busy street but did not anticipate how loud the traffic would be or the trucks with loud pipes.

Returned from a week at Mermaid Way. The communication prior to and during the stay was excellent. Check-in and out procedures were clear and accurate. Location was as described. Only an easy 5 minute walk to the beach that crossed one road that was not very busy at all. Entered directly through a public access area that did have space for parking if you didn't want to walk the 5 minutes. The residence was comfortable and fit all our guests in their own bedroom. The house is on the corner next to the main highway so if you are a light sleeper that can be an issue. The trade-off is you have easy access to all the sites in Outer Banks. Able to walk to Publix, mini-golf across the street. Pool was clean and very welcome after being on the beach all day. Did not use the hot tub but it looked well maintained.

House was excellent! Very clean, PLENTY OF DISHES AND SILVERWARE. Didn’t have much room to store our food for the week, so it sat out on the counters. Not a big deal. Plenty of parking, at least 5 cars. Game room on parking level, was very hot in there. It has 2 garage doors , 2 ceiling fans , mini fridge with some kind of ac unit. Pool area was great. Walk in from cars and into shower area and hot tub, all fenced in. Plenty of chairs at pool area and on all decks. Main floor had 4 bedrooms, one with access to front porch. Top floor was kitchen, living room and master bedroom. Porch on both sides with seating. House sets on main drag, so going to grocery shopping was feet away. We didn’t mind the traffic noise. Easy access to the beach, few block away. Could walk but we were a family so we drove. Advice, For those with tiny kids, bring a baby gate. A gate was found but could not make it work for the top of the stairs. Went to Walmart, Target and Lowe’s, nothing. Tried to rent one through the Vrbo site, no good. Upon arrival, we were early. Connected owner and were able to get in early, easy to get ahold of them. Just sent them a text. We brought our beach chairs and what nots, but there were many beach items left in the parking area.It was a wonderful house , we loved staying there and would go back.

Perfect spacious beach house!

Great walkable location centrally located. The pool and hot tub were a huge plus and the upstairs living space was perfect for our group hangouts!

Fun place to stay!

Mermaid Way was a wonderful place to stay for friends and family. We were at the beach everyday which was only a short walk from the house. There were so many activities at the house and surrounding area we could have used a second week of vacation. A wonderful time was had by all.

We went to a family wedding. The venue was very close. We spent most of our stay at mermaid way. Everything was just a pictured in VRBO. We enjoyed the amenities. And would recommend this 100%.

Overall great time

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was exactly as described and there was plenty to do in the house and in the area to keep everyone entertained. The home could have been cleaned better and the traffic noise was annoying at times but it wasn’t awful. We’d stay there again.
