We invite you to visit 'ALOFT.' We're located in a state park, and only 35% of Jekyll Island can be developed. We are surrounded by marshlands and the sea. Our property is situated on a quiet street, nestled between the marshlands and stately oak and pine forests. This beautiful 900 square foot loft has a private entrance and on-site parking for one vehicle..
Just one minute away you'll discover the 18 miles of bike trails surrounding the island. You can bike to the fishing pier and beach and arrive in five minutes. Or, you may want to visit the Historic District, where over 300 millionaires once lived. They built homes and a Club House on our island, beginning in 1888. They typically spent 3-5 months down here yearly for the next 54 years. Their homes are being restored and many can be visited and appreciated.
We also have a world renowned Sea Turtle Center, where injured and sick turtles are flown in for surgeries and rehabilitation, and later released back to the sea. Bike toward the south and visit the Tidelands Nature Center, enjoy bird and wildlife viewing, or swim and sunbath on our 12 miles of white sand beaches. We have a seasonal Summer Waves Water Park, four famous golf courses, Red-bug Motorcar rentals, and carriage rides and trolley tours. Also, for the adventurous, scout out the hideaways of our local alligators! All this and so much more!
All activities are within minutes. Bed linens, towels and kitchen items are furnished. You bring food, toiletries and enjoy.
A 50% deposit is required for all stays and the balance is due 14 days prior to arrival. Deposit is non-refundable but may be used to change/reserve dates (pending availability) for up to one year after the original reservation date. Reservations less than 14 days prior to arrival require payment in full. A two night minimum stay is required. Click "Ask Owner" for a customized quote for stays of longer that 30 nights. VRBO quotes for stays longer than 30 days do not accurately calculate tax rates and other factors
"Aloft" is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in between the Jekyll Island airport and the campground. That puts us 5 to 10 minutes from the Jekyll Island beaches by car. Bicycle paths start one block from the house.
Also, you should know that "Aloft" is an open and airy unit with lots of natural light. It has a private entrance through our garage. You may hear the garage door open and close at 6:30 or so in the morning during the days of Monday through Friday (also some occasional weekend days) as that is the time that we go to work. That has not bothered most of our guests, but we don't want that to be a surprise. Otherwise the unit is very quiet. Kitchen facilities are limited. Cooking facilities are a toaster oven, a two burner hot-plate and a microwave. The refrigerator is hotel sized.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions and if "Aloft" will work for you.

About Michael Mueller
Pam and Michael Mueller have lived in coastal Georgia for ten years. They met here in 1988, while studying law enforcement at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, GA. At that point, they made a pact that if they were to marry one day, they would return to live in the Golden Isles. Seven years later their dreams came true! Michael continues working with law enforcement, now teaching Physical Training to Homeland Security students at FLETC. Pamela has become a children's author. She has written eight award-winning books and will release her first adult book in 2010. The Muellers bought a home with an 'undeveloped' loft and decided to refurbish it and turn it into a rental unit. This has turned into a delightful abode, and they very much enjoy sharing their little piece of paradise with others.
Michael Mueller purchased this Studio in 2009
Why Michael Mueller chose Jekyll Island
We remodeled the loft of our residence for our frequent guests and visiting family. When it is not occupied, we wanted to rent it out and share the magic of Jekyll Island with others who yearn to spend their free time in 'splendid paradise,' which incidentally, is the title of Pamela's new book and tells the story of Jekyll Island.

Comforts of home
Welcome basket was a nice touch. Room is much bigger that photos indicate.
Loved the Aloft...
Really enjoyed our stay at the Aloft. Very quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. Everything we needed to make our stay at Jekyll Island enjoyable and relaxing. Will definitely stay at the Aloft again...
Great weekend stay!
Aloft is much bigger than I had expected. We had plenty of room!
Nice but, not for us.
This was our first booking with VRBO nice concept , but just not for us. The space was nice, clean and had everything we needed. Strongly recommend.
Great apartment, great location.
Nice hosts, lovely furnishings, bikes to use, kitchen, patio. Just about anything we could want in a place to stay on this beautiful island. Highly recommended.
A perfect cozy getaway with the kindest hosts
Bigger than it appears in the photos, A Loft has everything & more that you need for a work or relaxing getaway. I used it for both! The neighborhood is fronted by Jekyll’s awesome network of trails and the location is quiet and secluded, yet offers easy access to everything. Fast WiFi, a well stocked kitchenette, and an amazing roof top deck made A Loft convenient and cozy. Michael & Pam are accommodating, kind, and a delight to work with. I will be back and I will send others.
Five minutes from Jekyll Island Historic District. For 54 years, from the Gilded Age to WWII, Jekyll Island was the second home to more than 300 Millionaires, who spent 3-5 months in their 'cottages' here. Their homes have been restored and offer an amazing glimpse into the past.
