There were no reviews when we booked this place, so we didn't know what to expect. I hope this helps the next person. The apartment itself is nice, with 2 bedrooms and a pull out sofa, a kitchen (no freezer) with a washer. It was stocked with a few items that helped, including a Nespresso machine and kettle. Where things went wrong for us was all location based. This section of Rue St Denis is not yet gentrified and the 2 nice restaurants across the street don't make up for the rest of the block. A bit scary for a family of four, including prostitutes nearby. The entrance is difficult to find, then you walk through 3 more security doors down a long but small enclosed "hallway" to the apartment. Yes, security doors sound great, but it felt like we were trapped down this hallway. The apartment itself is a basement apartment with no real windows to talk about. A couple up high that crack open, but no light or air comes through. It is damp, dark, and zero air circulation. The 3 fans did help, but not nearly enough especially when it came time to sleep. Two of us ended up abandoning the apartment, taking the financial loss, and we found a different place that suited our needs. I suggest this place is good for 2-3 single men in their 20's who need to save money and who might feel safer together. Having said that, I would NOT suggest paying what we did. I would think half rate might make this more of a value for the right type of tenant. Overpriced.
