Authentic Log Cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains Family and Pet friendly

Are you looking for a wonderful vacation spot with beautiful mountain views, are you a pleasure seeker who enjoys hiking, white water rafting, or fly fishing, or do you just want to get away from it all? Whether planning a family vacation, a honeymoon or a long weekend getaway this is the place for you. AUTHENTIC LOG CABIN, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, sleeps 6 comfortably, centrally located in the heart of Avery County in Newland, North Carolina. We are close to all the High Country attractions, Grandfather Mountain, Beech and Sugar Mountain ski slopes, Banner Elk, Boone, Blowing Rock, Appalachian State University, Linville River Falls, not to mention the finest collection of public golf courses in the area. The single residence is located on a private road shared with only one other cabin, in a secluded mountain with breath taking views.

From the outside the cabin looks very old, the structure was built from 10x10 logs salvaged from antique homes. On the inside, the cabin is equipped with all the modern conveniences. Washer and dryer, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, glass top stove with oven are all provided. Kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, silverware, pot and pans, crock pot and coffee maker.

The master bedroom loft has a king size bed and a full bath that features an old fashion claw foot tub. The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds that can be pushed together. The living room has a sleeper sofa. All linens and towels are provided. Fire Pit and chairs and charcoal grill outside.

There is a gas fireplace inside. Control is on the wall behind the couch. Timer 30 min 60 min or 120 min. Turn off when you leave the cabin and at checkout. There is a firepit outside, bring wood.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Load dishwasher and run it the day you leave. Metal trash can on the back porch for excess trash put the lid on tight to keep the critters out.
Charcoal grill off the back porch. Bring charcoal grill off the back bring charcoal as I never know what travelers leave. Electric baseboard heat .
Gas fireplace in living room. Timer control on wall behind the couch. 30, 60, 120 min. Turn off when you leave the cabin and at check out.

Pet friendly Relaxing Cabin experience and remote access Host was amazing and very informative and helpful for us to have a good trip. Cabin was in a remote peaceful location. You will be away from facilities so pack all you want to keep your stay peaceful and remote to clear your mind. If you are looking a place to rest go here. When it’s cold it would be an awesome place since it was warm we couldn’t use the gas fireplace. God bless .

In the welcome letter sent to you via email I explain to you, in the directions to watch for the number on the mailbox which is my cabin go up the driveway and rental cabin is on the right. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you, we are going to put the additional address for future travelers. The additional fee was the Pet fee , which is very clear on the site before you made the reservation, you just failed to note you had any pets and you had 2 dogs Thanks

The cabin was exactly as described. Cozy, comfortable and well equippef. It was a beautiful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of town life. It was very clean(except for the few bugs that liked the cabin life too). We had rain the entire trip, but the fire place helped warm our bones. The driveway up to the cabin was a little unnerving, but on par for the area and we soon mastered it. We brought our 2 dogs, and they loved wondering the mountain side.

Solitude and beautiful cabin

Beautiful area and a cozy mountain cabin!

The front porch was one of our favorite places, to sit in the rocking chairs and take in the view. The cabin had pretty much everything we could need for our stay. Would definitely recommend!

A great place to stay

We were looking for a quiet place to stay that was pet friendly and this cabin was perfect. The view from the front porch was beautiful and seeing deer in the front yard was hard to beat. The owners Debbie and Don were great to work with. We will definitely be back next year.

anniversary getaway

We have a family construction company in Florida and this property has been a vacation retreat for many years. We have recently decided to build cabins in the North Carolina area.

Why they chose this property

We visited the area in 1985 on a family vacation and absolutely fell in love with the area and decided to purchase mountain acreage and built a family vacation cabin. We later decided to develop the property to build future cabins. This is the first cabin that we have built on the property for public use in 2009.

What makes this property unique

The seclusion of this cabin is unmatched. Access to the cabin is via a private road that is shared by one other cabin. This location is also very close to nearby attractions: ski slopes, hiking, white water rafting, Grand Father Mountain, and shopping. This area is also home to many yearly events: Octoberfest and Roasting of the Pig at Sugar Mountain, the Highland games, the Wooly Worm Festival, etc.
