Its an older property with a great location. No ice maker or linens or towels or dish cloths etc. Make sure you download the VRBO App or you will not know this. My family really enjoyed our stay. Her house cleaner claims they found dog hair after our stay. I paid alot of money for a sitter for our 2 dogs which I can verify. I wonder does the cleaner charge more for dog hair?? They claim the last renters had a dog as well. I had great communication with the owner throughout the vacation.I would recommend this property for location to the ocean front!

Fantastic Vacation!

We had a wonderful time at this adorable and well-located property! There was enough room for my family of 9 to be together in the living room/dining room area and enough space for any of our adult children to be on their own. My teenager loved the little reading nook on the second floor during quiet times. My 6 year old and 4 year old granddaughters loved the space under the stairs for their quiet time! We all loved that we could see the ocean from the top balcony and all the sliding glass doors which gave a wonderful view of the life-guarded beach access! The short walk to the beach was especially nice when we carried over our beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, and coolers! The central location of this property gave family members good travel time when visiting points north or south. There are also many excellent restaurants and grocery stores near this location. Communication with the owner, Stephanie was excellent! My family and I would definitely choose to stay in this house again and again!

Perfect house & Location

Our family of nine visited over Fourth of July week this beautiful house. The house was spotless and exactly as described in the post. It was so comfortable and also had everything we needed for cooking and enjoying the beach! I highly recommend this gorgeous and beautiful home for your next family vacation.

Family Vacation

The house was clean and spotless upon our arrival. High quality mattresses, pillows and bedding. Thoroughly enjoyed the swing and picnic tables under the carport. Easy beach access. Our family had a wonderful time. Communication with the owner was easy.

Great location with plenty of room and amenities

Love coming to KDH. The location of the property was awesome. House is spacious with plenty of amenities. Hope to stay again next summer!

Beach Easy

We had a great time with such a clean, comfortable and well located home away from home. The beach was across the street - very close. Outside shower and hose was very handy to keep sand under control. House air quality, a big issue for us, was excellent. We hope to come again.

Best vacation ever!!!!!

We absolutely loved this beach house! The location was amazing with spectacular views of the ocean! Stephanie the owner was so very friendly and accommodating whenever I needed to ask her questions. The house was so spacious and clean. The deck was so great to eat family meals out on. I highly recommend this beach house!!

Wonderful Week at the Outer Banks

What an amazing week at the beach! The accommodations at Cool Breeze were fantastic! The house was beautiful and perfect for our family of six. The ambiance of the home was warm and inviting, and the beach vibe was evident in every room. Attention to the guest experience was evident in the numerous details that made our stay so enjoyable: a well-stocked kitchen, comfy pillows and throws, room to dine in comfort, plentiful outdoor seating on the multiple decks, and accessible beach gear! The walk to the beach was a breeze, directly across the street. There were so many delightful restaurants, ice cream spots, and activities in the immediate area. Our visit to the Wright Brothers Memorial was a highlight of the trip. The owner was so very personable and responsive from the time the reservation was made. This was our first trip to the Outer Banks, and we will definitely return!

Wonderful Stay at Cool Breeze!

Our group of six just returned from Cool Breeze and our stay was wonderful! The location to a guarded beach was priceless. The house exceeded our expectations and was perfect for our our needs and comfort. The location of the house is also ideal for all the sites as well as convenience to the grocery store. The owner was lovely to work with during our stay. I would highly recommend this home!

A great and much-needed escape!

We wanted a safe location to enjoy a vacation during Covid-19, and this house was perfect for us. It was clean and very well-stocked, which made it easy to feel comfortable there for all our meals. The beach access was so close and easily accessible for both the grandparents and kids. Altogether a great experience.

Fun in the sun....

What a great stay we had at Cool Breeze; great house and location! With access to the beach right across the road, it made for an easy trek to and from the house. From early morning sunrises on the front upstairs deck, to cooking and eating at the big kitchen table, we fed our souls with the goodness of the beach. Highly recommend this property. We will be back.

Beach Get away

The location of the property was great! A very short walk to the beach, could not have been much closer! The house was nice. We did not end up with as many people at the house as expected, and 2 baths was enough, but would have been hard if we had had everyone.

Great home, great owner, great location!

We’ve been renting homes at OBX for over 25 years and this has to be the cleanest home we’ve ever stayed in! The location was incredible with a walkover ramp vs stairs to the beach right across the street. We were able to walk to get ice cream several evenings and loved the central location. The house had everything we needed and more. The owner, Stephanie, was just super to work with and responded quickly to any questions we had. With 7 adults and one toddler in this home, we we very comfortable. We would happily recommend and rent this home again!!

Cool Breeze Cottage

My family and I had an outstanding week in Kill Devil Hills at the Cool Breeze Cottage. This property is right across the street from the beach, and walking distance to the Wright Brothers Memorial. The furniture is nice and cozy and the house is it great condition. Stephanie is extremely responsive and helped me every step along the way in preparing this family trip. This cottage was the perfect size and location for my family and I couldn't have asked to make it any better. I will go out of my way to make sure that in the coming years I can stay at the Cool Breeze Cottage again.

Great beach house for a great price

My family just came back from a week stay here. The location is fantastic, the beach is just a short walk away. The house was very clean and Stephanie was very responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay. The beds were comfortable and there were new tvs and plenty of amenities. It's a great house, no complaints.

My Favorite Week of the Year!

This is the second time we've stayed here and it might've been better than the first (which was pretty perfect!). We had great weather, the beach wasn't too crowded, and a friend of our family came with her two kids and we were so thrilled at how baby safe this rental is! There aren't excessive nick knacks, there was a high chair and a baby gate! There were even sand buckets and shovels to play with at the beach! We LOVED that there was a full time life guard at the beach, as the surf was rougher than usual this week. Everything was just as described and everything was gorgeous and spotless. The manager is one of the best we've ever dealt with - a pro at customer service! She went above and beyond for us. We would absolutely recommend this place to family and friends, so you better book it before we take all of the available spots!

A Fantastic Week!

My family and I had a fantastic week at Cool Breeze. The property is exactly as described and the owners are more than helpful. Wonderful family vacation!

We had an amazing week at your lovely home. Since I have 4 grand babies (3 of which are 1 and under), the convince and close proximity to the beach was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was well stocked and all the beds were extremely comfortable. We were close to all the main attractions and the restaurants we love. Thank you for sharing your home and I so appreciate the easy rental process!

Definitely home away from home!

This house was so great. We were expecting it to be wonderful and were still impressed at all of the personal touches. The owners definitely take great care of this place. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could want on vacation- wine glasses, pancake griddle, seafood steam pots, you name it! The views from the decks are gorgeous and it's just a 2 minute walk to find your perfect spot on the beach. The house is on the beach road and all you do is cross the street and walk down the boardwalk ramp to the sand. And there's an outdoor shower WITH HOT WATER so you don't track sand all over. That definitely came in handy. You can even see the ocean from the upstairs bedroom window! The house had plenty of space for us to spread out and not get in each other's way. There are board games and books and direct tv in case you need to spend a day/evening inside chilling out. The location itself is so convenient. You can get anywhere you want to be on the outer banks in 15-20 minutes. We spent a lot of time on the beach and didn't even pack our lunches because it was just a 2 min walk back to the kitchen! Definitely loved this place and it will be the first place I ever check availability for when heading to the beach. It's been a while since I had been to the outer banks and this house has absolutely set the bar. Yes, it's that great!

Howard and Stephanie Estes are beach lovers to the core from Richmond, Virginia. We've been vacationing in the OBX since we were kids and love our adopted neighborhood here in KDH.

Every year since 2004, we have tried to make upgrades and listen to our guests’ suggestions. It’s been great fun to build relationships with our repeating guests as well as new ones. We have rented to families from coast to coast and international travelers from France, Great Britain and Germany.

Cool Breeze is our home away from home. We have furnished it with features that we enjoy and hope that your family will find as comfortable and relaxing as we do.

There are many houses to choose from in the Outer Banks. But we also know our house is very special and has created many wonderful family memories. We invite you to come stay.

With only one lot between us and the ocean, getting back to the house to take a break from the sun or refill the cooler is easy. Our residential neighborhood is located just a short walk from many conveniences like restaurants and shops. We love the open floor plan of our home that offers bedrooms on either floor and a central gathering area for meals and entertainment. We also offer both covered and open decks on all three levels for outdoor enjoyment.
