Had a great stay. House and property is as advertised. Only complaint the fire pit area is not very level for walking especially at night. Beautiful and quiet area. Can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely beautiful home!
This home was so beautiful! The attention to detail by the owners in ensuring the home is well stocked was so impressive! I have stayed in several other properties in different areas over the years and this home has been our favorite!

Lovely home !
Comfortable bedrooms and clean bathrooms. Ideal for a family with pets ! We enjoyed the lovely fireplace and the deck! The mile long gravel road to the house was dusty and bumpy but not bad ! Great location for downtown Black mountain !

Great location in the mountains!
Great house. Spotlessly clean. Close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Asheville. Kids loved the playhouse. We loved the deck and screened patio with barbecue . We will be back soon.
Loved having this space for our family! The drive up - final unpaved road - was pretty rocky/bumpy fyi for choosing your vehicle type.
Loved that it was tucked away. It was a great spot for our family - lots of games and puzzles for the kids. We enjoyed the screened porch for meals. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We loved staying at Dalton Abbey Retreat. It was clean and thoughtfully decorated. The kitchen had everything one needed for home cooking. There was even emergency pantry items if something was forgotten at the store (which we timed to be about 15 minutes to the Ingles Supermarket in Black Mountain). There were quite a few dvd's, games, puzzles, books for children and a desk area for children to color or draw, in one of the bedrooms. There is satellite tv and we had no problem with wifi. The screened porch is a nice place to enjoy dinner. There is a sweet playhouse in the yard. We did see some bears, but they seem to know when trash day is and visit accordingly. Walk up the road a little way and there is a beautiful view of the Seven Sisters in the distance. There is so much to see and do in Black Mountain and the surrounding areas. This is a great base to explore from. Just as a last thought- It has been mentioned that the road to the house is unpaved and bumpy, but there is only one small section near the highway that is somewhat washboarded, otherwise it is a slow, easily traversable, and quite smooth mountain road. It is good to be on 'mountain time' and de-stress.

Great getaway!
What a lovely find! The house was clean, very comfortable and had everything (and more) we needed.
Five of us spent a few days at Dalton Abbey and enjoyed exploring Black Mountain and surrounds. Our evenings were spent cooking in the fully equipped kitchen as the fire warmed the house up.
We would love to come back and experience it in summer, that fire pit looked inviting!
We’ll appointed, comfortable property with a perfect layout for my husband and myself traveling with our adult daughter. Nice screened in porch and deck. Only drawback was the two miles of unpaved road leading up to it that was quite rough. A sturdier SUV or truck probably wouldn’t have had an issue
Great place to stay and easy to get to. The home is very comfortable and cozy. Great amenities and close to all the attractions. We plan on coming back to stay here again in the near future.
We loved the house and the location of this property! It was very clean and very well stocked with everything you’d need (minus food of course!) the only complaint I could even think of is the possibility that previous guests may have smoked as all the towels smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and we are not smokers! Overall we’d definitely stay here again.
House was great for my family! Kids loved the back yard and exploring! The house was very comfortable and we enjoyed a fire and movie every night.

In the woods
The rental unit was extremely nice, better stocked for the renter than any place I have ever stayed. Just make sure you arrive during the day. Once you get off 9 at night the drive was a nightmare. Its dark, rock/dirt road narrow & lots of curves. We almost turned around to leave. The next morning we were so surprised at how beautiful the setting was, the inside of the home was so nicely decorated. The drive to town was only 15 min. & the rock/dirt road was not scary at all. Tgey have an amazing grocery store too. We would definitely recommend it but will not drive it at night.

Beautiful house. Located higher in the mountains than we expected but the roads are easy and not too steep. The house was extremely well stocked and modern my furnished. The deck and fire pit were highlights. Great house for a small family or friends. The check in process was easy and we were very pleased with the overall Turnkey communication.

THE UNKNOWN & SURPRISE AT THE ARRIVAL
We got to the property well after dark. When we turned off rte 9 and ent onto a dirt/rock road, pitch black, narrow, lots of curves. We were not happy that we had no indication it was that remote & the road was not in good condition. We felt very insecure, uneasy & a bit afraid. We are 2 - 74+ year old ladies.
We almost left to go to town. Once we got to the house & went in. The place was beautiful. Very well stocked with absolutely everything you needed except your food. The next morning after we had coffee on the porch we drove the road again in the daylight and found it to not be that bad or scary but we never drove it again at night. We really enjoyed the home. I would suggest letting people know up front about the road, how long it is and it is better to arrive before dark. You absolutely cannot beat the care that was taken in making sure the guest had everything & more of what they would need. The owners are dog lovers, they stocked everything you could ever want for your fur-babies. After our late arrival experience I can say it was one of the nicest & most comfortable places we have ever rented & I would consider coming back.

Perfect Get-away
This was the perfect place for our family`s fall get-away. The home was very clean and the location was perfect. Our 6 year old son absolutely loved the outdoor fort/tree house and the room stocked full of any game/activity you would need. He spent hours playing and didn`t want to leave. The only drawback (and this is being really picky) is that the master shower has no door or curtain and water sprays on the floor. All that to say, this place was awesome and we will definitely plan to get back.

This property was so great for a Fall getaway. It is off the beaten path and perfect for our family.
It is super clean and very comfortable.
My son LOVED the one bedroom that was stocked with just about every game and toy he could want. It kept him busy, but he also loved the outside playhouse fort. We would definitely come again.
