Very nice cabin. House was clean, with serenity surrounding. It’s a gated community with steep curvy road.

We were in Old Fort participating in the Ridge to Rails trail running event as family gathering. The pictures that were posted online were very much representative of the actual cabin. The entire cabin was very neat and clean. The communication with the host was prompt and very positive. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

My sisters and I absolutely loved this cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All advisories should be adhered to when it comes to traveling in inclement weather. I am very scared of heights and narrow, winding roads but I was able to navigate this fine in my Buick Enclave during October (no snow). I strongly recommend following the vehicle and "stay in the cabin" suggestions should there be inclement weather. This cabin truly was a "home away from home" for us. One bedroom has a closet full of games that even 50 women enjoyed playing! The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking needs (pans, spices, etc.). The outdoor area has chairs for the fire pit and basic items for outdoor adventures. It is close enough to travel to Asheville or other surrounding areas should you want to venture off but it has nature activities within walking distance should you just want to enjoy the outdoors. I will say it does not have much of a typical "mountain view" as one may expect. You are actually "in" the trees and feel more a part of them than having a panoramic view of mountain peaks. We loved the feeling of being secluded like this. You can tell the owners are really inviting you into their "home" not just a rental and take pride in what they have to share. We look forward to another adventure at this cabin soon.

Family get together

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice in a beautiful setting. We especially enjoyed the walks to the lake and waterfall, and just hanging out together on the porch or in the living/dining area. The hosts were very responsive and helpful.

Lovely Spring Break Retreat

We had an absolutely lovely time. The house was immaculate and was stocked beyond measure with everything that you could’ve thought you wanted and forgot to pack. We appreciated how isolated the house was, to have our own little retreat. We even got to see a Mama Bear and her two little cubs. We LOVED the waterfalls and hiking opportunities.

Great!

Stayed here with family and it was a great place for us. Good amount of space for everyone to spread out while still being near each other. Great location with a couple of trails and a pond nearby and close enough to Asheville to not feel too remote. Good communication with the host too. We enjoyed our stay!

The most relaxing vacation!

My family and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and had the most relaxing and wonderful time. The house is very clean and cozy and fully stocked with everything we needed and more. The property is beautiful and we loved walking to see the waterfall! The drive to downtown Asheville was not bad at all and we loved being able to stay somewhere more secluded and explore nature!

Awesome property owner

There were a couple of issues that the owner was unaware of his response to rectifying the issue was swift and generous! I can not say enough good things about it. Loved our stay....beautiful!!

Great cabin in a secluded neighborhood

The cabin is fantastic and the natural beauty of the neighborhood is incredible. We swam and fished in the lake, hiked the trails and played in the “private” waterfall. We even saw a family of black bears in the road. We did visit a few good little towns that are just a relatively short drive away from the cabin.

Quiet Solitude

Extremely quiet location. Somewhat remote, great if you want to "get away" from everything. Community has mountain lakes, waterfalls and trails but be prepared for steep climbs and frequent bear sightings. Owner was very easy to reach and communicate with.

Wonderful escape from the city!!!

We stayed during our spring break with our dog and 4 kids. We had a FANTASTIC time! The lake and trails were a big hit. It is an easy walk to the waterfall with breathtaking views. Our dog loved the lake (a little to cold for the kids, but they tried!) The house was stocked with everything we needed, and more. We are already planning our next visit!!!

Family vacation

Our visit was amazing. The cabin was all that was promised. Very clean. The firepit was wonderful and we had more than enough firewood for the week. We really enjoyed walking down to the lake and the waterfall trail. Alex was a wonderful host. We are already planning our return visit. Thanks Alex.
