Portland Sanctuary

Modern mid century boho chic two bedroom apartment unit in a gorgeous private craftsman bungalow home built in 1910. The unit is spacious, cool and provides ample room for a cozy stay. You will find new appliances in both the bathroom and kitchen. Both bedrooms are outfitted with tempurpedic mattresses and clean linens and towels and accented with local Pendleton prints. Backyard is shared. We do have chickens in the backyard and if you like fresh eggs we are happy to drop off some off. There is a slight additional cost for pets and 5th guest. Please inquire.

We had a very nice stay at the Portland Sanctuary. Veronica answered texts almost immediately and offered sign for many places to go for food or entertainment. The place was very comfortable and the beds were excellent. Being mostly below ground it was a bit dark but also very quiet.

This was the best Vrbo I’ve ever stayed at. We enjoyed the apartment, the art in the apartment, the garden and the chickens. The host was also friendly and helpful. A small issue was the struggle with the TV but it didn’t diminish the experience

Very quick trip, not using a lot of the amenities. However, the unit is very well outfitted and decorated. It’s almost like walking through a beautiful secret garden to get to the door. Will definitely try to stay here again.

Home is in a good location and the interior is comfortable. Beds, linens, and towels were good as well. Decor is charming, vintage style. Could use some paint touchups here and there. There's a full sized kitchen that's well stocked. I was expecting a multifamily home with rear entry, but I did not think it was fully downstairs as in a basement apartment. The weather was hot and unfortunately the fans were not quite enough. The exterior areas needs more upkeep (dirty cables by the entry), stacked plant pots, and debris lying about. I knew there were chickens, but because of the heat, the smell outside was worse than I expected, no smell inside. Not a great fit for my party.

Peaceful retreat in a friendly Portland neighborhood. Well-stocked kitchen and magical backyard. We’re already missing the sounds of the chickens saying “hi.” Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We’ll be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. The space itself was tucked away behind the main house and very private. Very homey and had all the amenities we needed for our 1 week stay. Our host, Veronika, was very responsive and gave us tips on local eats. Parking was easy and the location was close to all where we wanted to go. Also there were cute happy chickens in the backyard.

The space is very nice, warm and inviting, and very comfortable with quality furnishings and decor, open and cozy at the same time.The host is very warm and friendly, and professional. Very good communicating with guests prior to arrival and during their stay, should they need anything.Highly recommended and we will definitely book again.

Everything was great! The mid century vibe was very hip! My cats and I enjoyed our stay! The host was very welcoming and accommodating. Everything worked. Also, location is great! Minutes to Alberta Arts District. And the chickens were so cute!

Everything was clean and neat and an incredibly comfortable space. Great beds, nice bathroom and appreciated tips from the host. Fully functional kitchen for including ice maker. We loved our stay!
