Josie's Place is located on Ono Island overlooking Ole River with close accessibility to the Gulf of Mexico via Perdido Pass. Beautiful public beaches in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores just minutes away.

Home includes a private pool, spa, boat dock w/sun deck and pier making it a wonderful place for swimming, fishing and boating. The second level includes living room, dining area including breakfast bar for six and large kitchen with all amenities. Two master bedrooms, king-sized beds and private baths also on second level.. Third level includes large great room, two oversized bedrooms with 2 queen size beds in each. Each bedroom has private bath with shared tub/shower area. All bedrooms have porches overlooking pool. Lower level has game room with pool table , wet bar and pull out queen-sized sofa. A bedroom with queen bed and private bath are also located on lower level.

Lovely Place

Spacious accommodations for everyone. Three levels with den on all three. Sparkling, cool pool to swim in and a nice long dock down to the Old River. Guys enjoyed fishing from the dock and I enjoyed the view from the swing.

Family Spring Break

Wonderful stay, 12 members of the family, no problems, plenty of space. The kids loved the pool and sand. Nice to be in gated community, very well kept neighborhood and secure. Lots of privacy.

So nice!! The pool was outstanding. The dock with swing was great. We caught fish and also lots of crabs. AC was very cold which is always a plus. The pool table was nice. We had several tournaments. The kitchen had lots of pots, pans, utensils. I would highly recommend this property.

Family is what matters!

It was a wonderful experience. Plenty of room, a great location, nice and efficient owner. The house has been used over the years and shows its wear and tear. Would probably stay again IF the carpet was replaced with tile or some other pet-friendly surface. Dock was nice for our own boat. Didn't catch much fish, but it was a blast cruising around and visiting the different eateries and bars.

Great for Large Group & Short Stay - Updates Needed!

This property has an amazing location, outdoor amenities and also perfect size for a large group! The pool and hot tub are great additions to the property. We stayed shortly after a hurricane swept through and destroyed the dock/boathouse. Would have been even better if that was accessible, but understand the circumstances with the repairs :) The property manager was great about notifiying us about the status of certain rooms due to the hurricane damage. The house is the perfect size for a large group and kids - two masters on the main floor with large bedrooms upstairs and downstairs. However, we ran into several minor issues. We booked this home specifically over Thanksgiving and purchased ALOT of groceries to cook. Thanksgiving morning we come to find that the oven doesnt work (turns on but doesnt heat over 200 degrees). I notified the property manager and was told to use the Conventional Bake setting, but that didnt work either. Luckily we had some food to cook that did not require an oven, but we were unable to cook our turkey and a few other casserole dishes. It would have been nice to know in advance about the oven so we could make other food arrangements or book an alternative property. The sink disposal also didnt work, flooding the sink on multiple occasions during clean-up, so that probably needs to be replaced as well. The refridgerator shelves were constantly falling off if you placed items on them also. Commuincation with the property manager was great - almost too communicative. When I didnt pick up the phone immediately after notifying them about the oven (I was outside), I was called four times in a row and then asked for a different contact number for not picking up immediately on Thanksgiving day. We did misplace a few items after departure, and the property manager was very helpful in trying to find them. Overall we had a wonderful time at this property, but wouldnt want to stay longer than 4 nights. The rental rate is good for the size and location or the property, but it seems that the house is bound to fall apart / need several repairs after a few more VRBO stays.

Family Vacation

Let me start by saying the house was big enough for the 15 people. Plenty of room. We had a great time but I was disappointed how the house looked. It was clean but very outdated. The home needs to be updated. All furniture didn’t match and couch had a cover over it. You could tell that it really needed to be replaced. Home needs a paint job. You could see paint pilling all over the house. Carpet needs to be replaced. One bedroom up stairs had carpet taking out and the plywood floor painted. Looked cheap. had 2 hot tubs neither one worked when we first got to the house. The manager said someone would be out 2 days after we arrived to repair one hot tub. They did get one hot tub up and working but honestly the hot tubs needs to be replaced neither control boards worked and one hot tub has so much silicone on it it was funny. Walk boards to boat dock had a lot of loose boards. One window on the house looked to be broke and they had plywood over it. Outside Landscaping was not keep up. There use to be a small fish pond in front of the house. It’s all grown up. We stayed for 7 days and on the 6 day we had someone knock on the front door. It was the power company leaving a tag saying please call us with concerns of your account. We did make it work for us. I feel for the price it was to much for what we received.

Beautiful place!

We really enjoyed the property, especially the dock for fishing. The pool was also great, and when there was a problem with it caused by an abundance of rain, the owner was very responsive and got the problem fixed as quickly as possible.

The owner is a bit rough around the edges and is not good at preparing people for her requirements to stay at the property. The house is well equipped and perfect for a very relaxing vacation. The overall maintenance of the home is not great but the pool and hot tub were awesome and the dock is very nice and offers great fishing for red fish and sea trout which we caught many. Overall I highly recommend this property but if you're hoping for the Taj Mahal you'll be disappointed !

Poor Communication

Ono Island has a great reputation. However, this rental property could use some care. Could not enjoy the view of Ole River because of overgrown landscaping, blocking the view, also overgrown around the pool area. Pool was nice, home was clean. I would suggest bringing extra towels, wash cloths or you will be washing a lot. Difficult communication with owner especially coordinating preparation of documents needed to access island. Overall, stay was good and relaxing and great access to several public beaches, restaurants and travel to Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Perdido Key / Pensacola.

The property met our needs. The owner was available and responsive. There we a few issues in need of repair that didn't meet the stated description. some were resolved or improved during the stay, others were still ongoing. I would recommend this property overall. Hopefully those issues will be resolved.

Great for big family’s

This house is beautiful! Very big for a big family we had a total of 18 people. Ages from 9 months to 43. There is lots of room for everyone! The pool is nice needs a couple updates the pool lights for night time swimming didn’t work but made it work. Hot tub is great it’s in an awesome location! Volleyball area really was clean enough to play but with all the storms and stuff it was understandable. The kitchen has everything you need! A couple things to know if your renting it’s on a private island and if you need WiFi make sure to bring a hotspot it says internet but there definitely wasn’t enough for everyone and with kids for night time movies and stuff you will need WiFi. Also if you have small kids baby gates would be awesome there are lots of stairs. Over all I’d definitely recommend this place and the owner was always available she was very accommodating and friendly!

The perfect vacation home for large families!!

We had one of the best vacations ever at this home. The pictures of the property do not do it justice. We had a total of 18 people stay in this home. 16 adults/teens and 2 children. We had plenty of space for everyone. All of the rooms are very spacious. The kitchen is HUGE and is stocked with everything you could possibly need! There are two living areas in case everyone does not watch the same TV programs. The downstairs area was perfect for the teens to play pool and entertain themselves. The deck is one of the best features. It provides a beautiful view, plenty of places to sit or lounge, tables to eat outside and a large bar. The view from the hot tub is amazing. Another great feature is the dock. The dock has a swing on the lower level and plenty of space to fish. The upper level has seating around the entire level to provide a perfect place to watch the sunrise or to simply enjoy the view. We would love to come back to this home again for years to come.
