Our group of 10 women were absolutely delighted with Southern Tides! LOADS of room to seek privacy or hang out together. A large living-dining off kitchen, another private “den” on the first floor, and a cozy living area on the 2nd floor. There was a sleeping porch, 8 bunk beds with privacy curtains and reading lights (we only used 2 because there were so many other beds), a surprise outdoor shower on an upstairs porch and by the pool. Plenty of bathrooms with showers so no one ever had to wait! The kitchen was spotless and very well equipped. Chairs for the beach were very appreciated as was a post beach dip in the pool. The 1st floor suite with 2 queens was perfect for our traveling buddies with mobility challenges. Laundry and beach towels a true bonus. Not only is Southern Tides creatively decorated, it is COMFY, COMFY, COMFY!

We loved the layout of the house. There was plenty of room for our party of eight. It would have been nice if the pool was heated. It was a short walk to two beautiful beaches. It was a short trip to Savannah where we enjoyed several tours. Overall we had a great time.

Perfect Tybee Getaway

We've stayed at five different properties now on that end of Tybee Island and of those five, this was far and away our favorite stay! Beautiful home, plenty of space, wonderful outdoor/pool area and quick walk to either the ocean or inlet side of beach. Absolutely loved our time there!

Everything about this place was amazing! It’s truly a Tybee treasure. Whimsical is an apt description of the entire home- Jan and Bill have thought of every little detail to make it a delightfully refreshing getaway. The only thing that would make it better is if it was on the water—it was an easy walk, though, if we weren’t carrying so much “stuff” down to the beach.

Fun filled family vacation!

Overall a positive experience. Did have some worries about lead paint exposure for my 2 yr old grandson simply due to the age of the house. Lots of pool fun and beach fun! Very short walk to the inlet and beach. Cute decor and well stocked kitchen.

Property was very unique and cute although it was hard to accommodate 8 adults comfortably together. Very disappointed that the pool was not usable at all because it was extreme cool water temperature. Nearby pools and the ocean was much warmer.

Owner canceled my booking 5 days before planned arrival.

I stayed at this property in 2024 June 2024 and was highly impressed. Booked again for 6/21 2025 for the whole family to spend a week and owner cancelled reservation 5 days before planned trip. Luckily was able to scramble and get a house on HHI. As nice as first visit was cancelling reservation on such short notice should be known.
