On site there is a very good gastronomic offer for guests, which continues to increase in the direction of the city center. In addition to a casino (hunting lodge Aiden), there are also the so-called nature lovers. Rododendron Park. The community Bad Zwischenahn (in the Low German: Twüschenahn) is located in the southeast of the district Ammerland and borders on the neighboring communities Wiefelstede (in the northeast), Edewecht (in the south), the city of Oldenburg (in the southeast) and the county town Westerstede (in the northwest). The municipality is now divided into 18 peasantry and has about 28 000 inhabitants. It is the most populous municipality in the district Ammerland. Main and administrative seat is the place Bad Zwischenahn.
The heart of the community is the Zwischenahner Meer. With an area of 540 ha, it is the third largest inland water body of Lower Saxony after the Steinhuder Meer and the Dümmer. With an average water depth of 3.3 meters, it reaches a maximum depth of 6 meters above a sludge layer of the same thickness. The Zwischenahner Meer was created by the collapse of an underlying salt dome.
The community Bad Zwischenahn lies in the area of Nordoldenburgisch-Ostfriesischen Geest. While in the lowlands (valleys) moist meadows are to be found, arable land was cultivated on the sandy back since the early Middle Ages. In order to restore nutrients to the soil, which was impoverished by the cultivation of mono crops, so-called "plagues" were planted in humus-rich grassland and, enriched with animal excrements, they were used as plague fertilizers on the fields. Thus, the Geestrückenflächen were plaggengestüngten Esch. Through the application of the pests, the Esch surfaces were significantly increased over time. The valley floors are often flooded, which is due to the located below the Ammerländer Geest clay.
The Eschfluren were originally structured for management in longitudinal strips and surrounded to protect hedgerows. At their edges, the old villages of the community Bad Zwischenahn developed. Later (around 1800) newer development areas of these villages were added, recognizable by the extension field (e). The ending -fehn in Petersfehn finally indicates its origin as a bog colony, the middle of the 19th century. Century originated.
The Leda Jümme lowland south of the Ammerländer Geest consists mainly of bog. The belonging to the municipality of Bad Zwischenahn large moors Ekerner Moor, Speckener Moor and Kayhauser Moor are as northern foothills to Vehnemoor. Thanks to the marshes, Bad Zwischenahn was able to profit economically by mining peat and later to become a state-approved mud spa.
Today, the landscape is characterized by nurseries, which are found throughout the Ammerland, and find excellent conditions in this area, mainly due to the coastal climate (high humidity, mild winters). Particularly rhododendrons, coming from the rain-rich areas of the Himalayan meaty-leaved hardwoods, find here the necessary for rearing moist air. Farmland (incl. Nurseries and horticultural businesses) accounts for about 23% of the municipal area.
About 35% of the municipality is used as pasture or meadow. Especially the cultivated areas of the former raised bogs belong to these areas. About 10% of the municipal area is covered by forests and trees. The largest coherent forest area is the Wold at Bloh. He is about 250 acres and offers with the lake "Woldsee" a popular in the summer visited natural swimming area.
