Log Cabin on 3.7 private acres , 2 Bedrooms 2 Baths, (Sleeps 1-5)
If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway from the usual hustle bustle, the June Grass log cabin is the place to choose. Tucked among an aspen grove on nearly four acres with snowcap mountain views, the June Grass Cabin is conveniently located 3.5 miles from the fly-fishing capital of Fairplay, CO, home to the historic South Park City. The June Grass Cabin was tastefully renovated in 2008 and is regularly maintained for that new, fresh feel. It features a master suite with queen size bed, exclusive satellite receiver and VHS/DVD player, plush towels, granite bath countertop and jet tub to pamper yourself.
The fully stocked kitchen, opens to the dining/living room area with hardwood flooring, double size sofa sleeper and inviting furnishings. Stay cozy in the living room with wood burning stove or snuggle up to the 32” flat screen TV and video library, or select one of many board games for family fun. For your guests, the second bedroom offers a log double & twin size bunk bed with the second bath close by. A separate office with computer desk, satellite WiFi by Exede, stocked bookshelf and double size futon permits you the privacy to browse the books or finish some last minute work.
Bar-b-que on the expansive deck, star gaze from the six (6) person hot tub on the deck, enjoy the views from the swing chair and spend meal time at the counter height dining table or outdoor table set. Enjoy fishing in the stocked trout pond, 5 minutes away, for exclusive use of Owners and Guests. Best of all, the June Grass Cabin is less than 30 miles to Breckenridge and within an hours drive to Vail, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Dillon Lake, Eleven Mile & Spinney reservoirs and rafting on the Arkansas River.
Unlike some other vacation rental properties in the area, the roads getting to the cabin are not steep or on the shady side of a mountain ridge. The roads are maintained by Park County all the way up to the driveway which is plowed when 3 or more inches of snow fall. Due to the unpredictable storms in the Rockies, 4WD is recommended, but not required.
Traveling from Denver or Colorado Springs takes approximately 1.5 hours, 2.0 hours from Denver International Airport and Colorado Springs Airport.

Colette is a semi-retired Colorado Real Estate Broker and dog-sledder (aka: musher). Her business partner and her acquired the cabin in 2007 and completely remodeled it in 2008. Colette's passion is meticulously maintaining both her VRBO properties and providing a quality, comfortable place for Guests to relax and enjoy!
Colette purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Colette chose Fairplay
The privacy and the slower pace were the main reasons I bought this cabin a few minutes out of Fairplay. The 3.7 acres offer the privacy of the surrounding aspen grove with large meadow area to stroll and admire the views. We also enjoy the close proximity to several hiking opportunites, world class skiing, fishing & boating reservoirs, Nat'l Forest areas, etc. They are close enough, yet not so close as to make Fairplay a congested tourist trap.
What makes this Cabin unique
You will find our cabin very relaxing and accommodating. I have furnished it with mountain home decor and made it comfortable for us, as well as our Guests. There are ample sheets for the sofa bed & futon and extra blankets. The kitchen is stocked with just about everything you will need for your vacation. I encourage Guests to recommend any items currently not provided, that would make their stay more comfortable. We want you to feel at home :-)

Beautiful property! Quiet, peaceful, and relaxing.
My wife and I spent a weekend getaway at this cabin. Loved watching the sunrise from the hot tub, admiring the snow capped mountains from the deck, and staying cozy warm by the fire in the wood stove.
We had a great time at the cabin. The hot tub was perfect and the area was very scenic and remote feeling.
The Cabin was very cozy!
The cabin was very pretty & cozy, however, the owner, Colette, was what made our stay the most enjoyable. Thank you Colette
Well, thank you!!! I am always thankful and appreciative when Guests book my properties, and do my best to assure their visit is as perfect as possible. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you ;-)
Beautiful cabin with everything we needed!
My group of 4 loved this cabin! It was well-kept and fully stocked with pots/pans/utensils that made our dinner and breakfast plans a breeze.
My only suggestion would be to have an instruction book for the cabin. I've seen these at other cabins I've stayed at and it serves as a good guide to making sure we know where everything is and how to put everything away before we leave. There was a $100 cleaning fee though (which was a bit steep for a 1-night stay) so maybe that covers any small things left undone.
Thank you for the review and suggestion for Guest Information Book on the property. I've actually got that planned on my TO-DO list this year which will include instructions for the hot tub, check-in and check-out instructions, helpful hints, etc. Hope you visit again :-)
p.s. My cleaning lady has worked with me since 2009 and charges a minimum of $100, whether Guests stay one night or more.
Wonderful place to stay with amazing views!
We loved this cabin and the location. Colette was a pleasure to deal with. I can't imagine the views in the fall with all of the aspens. I hope to be back!
Cozy, cute, and great mountain views
We had an amazing time. We hiked everyday! Enjoyed the hot tub. The wood burning stove was great, efficient and beautiful. We will be back.
