The house was beautiful and well stocked. Close to town but secluded enough to feel like a cabin getaway!

Greatly disappointed in the cabin. Not nearly as nice as the pictures indicated. Very close to a busy highway with lots of traffic noise. Certainly not what was portrayed on VRBO.

I’m truly sorry to hear the cabin didn’t meet your expectations. I always want guests to have a wonderful experience and reached out several times during your three-day stay to check in — no concerns were mentioned at the time, and no feedback was shared after departure, so I’m not sure which aspects fell short for you.
The photos and description, including the location on State Highway 9, are accurate and up to date. The only differences are minor decor updates, such as new area rugs and blinds. The cabin sits at the back of a wooded 0.8-acre lot, backing to National Forest and set over 200 feet from the road, offering both privacy and convenient access to Breckenridge. Highway 9 has a 45 mph speed limit through Blue River and carries mostly local commuter traffic rather than constant highway traffic.
Of the property’s 80-plus reviews, none have mentioned road noise or misrepresentation, and many guests comment on how quiet and secluded the property feels. I value your feedback and have added photos of the driveway and setting so future guests can better visualize the distance from the road. Wishing you all the best on future visits to the mountains.
The Cabin was very nice, cozy, and clean. I definitely would stay here again.

We really enjoyed staying here! It was very comfortable and perfect for our group of four. The place is private and tucked in the woods but still very close to nearby towns as well as hiking and outdoor activities. The hot tub was a great way to unwind in the evening.
Perfect place to stay if visiting Breckenridge or looking for a quiet weekend getaway. Beautiful backyard with a lot of wildlife. Great kitchen for those that enjoy cooking. Only a few miles to town.

We strive to keep things well-stocked, especially in the kitchen for guests who would like to cook while they're here. Please come back and stay with us again anytime!
Great time! The house was perfect for our needs. The only suggestion for improvement would be to replace the couch. I think the existing one has seen better days.

Thank you so much for your kind review—we’re thrilled to hear the house was a great fit for your stay! We really appreciate your feedback about the couch. The leather has developed some natural wear over time, which is part of its aging character, but we completely understand how that might not be to everyone’s taste. Thanks again for the helpful note, and we hope to welcome you back in the future!

We loved this property! It was very clean when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need. Although there were other houses around the property, it get really private. Location was about 3 miles from Main Street Breck and there were a lot of hiking trails nearby to explore. Would definitely stay here again!

Thanks Ashley! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Sunny Slope. I agree, it does feel private because the hot tub and outdoor space is on the back of the house, facing away from the neighbors. I'd love to see you back out this winter! Hope to hear from you soon! - Lauren

Quaintly decorated, thoughtfully appointed, very clean, terrific location. We appreciated all the little details provided and thought of in this cute little cabin. Very comfortable beds, everything we needed and then some in kitchen, and perfect location for our girls getaway! Loved the hot tub, fireplaces, and just relaxing outdoors. This was my first time to Colorado, and it couldn’t have been a better trip. The cabin felt secluded but not isolated. It was just outside of town and very convenient to run back to from hiking or shopping. Surrounded by gorgeous views with all the amenities we needed and more. The owners were quick to respond and easy to communicate with and really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a good trip.

Great Spring Break in Breckenridge
Beautiful two bed that sits right up against the mountain with lots of privacy! My family and I enjoyed our stay in this beautiflu cabin. Even our dog had a great time paying int he snow. The hot tub was great and so was the wood burning fireplace and additional fireplace int he kitchen which was warm and inviting. The only thing I would comment on was th vey low water pressure, no running showers and the dishwasher or laundry at the same time. All-in-all a great stay and we would definitely stay again!

Response from VrboOwner on 28 Mar, 2020
Rebecca: Thank you so much for your review! We absolutely love this cabin as well! The wood burning fireplace and cabin features make you feel like you're away from it all, but the location being right near the mountain and close to town makes it very convenient. We definitely understand your comment about the water pressure - cabin life sometimes comes with little quirks like that, but we're happy that you were able to enjoy your time. Please feel free to stay with us again anytime!
We had a great time staying at the sunny slope cabin for our mini vacay from the city. I booked a trip here with my small family (husband, one year old, and dog) for a weekend in Sept to enjoy the beautiful fall colors. The cabin is exactly as advertised and the perfect spot for a mountain getaway. There are great amenities including a fireplace, hot tub, and fire pit (the latter we unfortunately couldn’t use bc of the fire ban), but the decor and personal touches around the house really added an extra special something that made the cabin feel more cozy and welcoming. Lauren was also a great host and quickly responded to some questions we had about the property after check in. Great location that we hope to stay in again soon!

House was for sale, property manager continued to interrupt our stay with inspectors coming into the house, her visit to check in the crawl space, sending a septic tank pump truck to block the drive and parking area. Have been promised a partial refund, but as of one week later, no action taken and silence from the property manager. Attitude was one which exhibited no concern for our contract to use the property, the only thing that mattered was getting the house sold. In addition, the house had cob webs over the dining room table and in the master bedroom. No closets, only small storage areas, in bedrooms. Look else where and avoid all properties managed by this property manager.

About the host
Hosted by Katie Schminky
Our family lives in the Denver Metro area but have been coming to Breckenridge to ski and adventure for over 25 years. We are the typical Colorado family who loves to be outdoors. From biking, to skiing, to rock climbing, we can’t imagine a better place to call home. This cabin has given us the opportunity to spend more time in the mountains. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
Blue River is home to a mere 865 people and is mostly a bedroom community. It might be small but it packs a punch in outdoor adventures. We feel very lucky to have found such an awesome spot.
What makes this property unique
It was love at first sight! Sunny Slope gives our family an opportunity to escape the city while still being close to all the modern conveniences Breck has to offer. Our kids love to sled out back in the winter and pick wildflowers for their fairy villages in the summer. Star gazing and hot tubbing are things we enjoy year round.
