Litchfield Hills 1790 country cottage

This renovated cottage has a rich, 230 year history from barn to Isaac Stern's former music studio. Situated on a quiet dirt road, it includes a gourmet kitchen, generous living room looking onto a private, fenced-in orchard/cutting garden with rolling brook, gazebo, and BBQ patio. NYC 90min, skiing 20min, Candlewood Lake 15min, Lake Waramaug 15min, Harlem-Valley Wingdale Metro North station 15min.

The space
Sleeping accommodations consist of a king-size bed in the upstairs bedroom and 2 bunk beds in the downstairs bedroom. In addition -- at guests' request -- we provide 2 air mattresses that are usually placed in the 750 sq. ft. studio space upstairs.

Cottage wifi speeds range from 40-200Mbps - ethernet connection available

The bathroom is located upstairs.
Guest access
The cottage has shared access (with the main house) to a 40x20 ft. in-ground pool that is separate and downhill from the cottage yard. We maintain a "kid friendly" pool (i.e., no alcohol or glass, no swimming after sunset, swimsuit required, no animals in the pool) however, for the comfort and safety of all swimmers we ask that they are toilet-trained.

Other things to note:
The cottage is situated on a 9 acre property with its own driveway/parking area (space for 2 cars) and entrance. Guests have exclusive access to the entire house and private enclosed backyard -- roughly 1/3 acre. The garage and walk-out basement/cabana are not included in the rental. The main house, its yard, gardens and pool are downhill from the Cottage. The Cottage yard and entrance are not visible from the main house.

On extended stays (more than one week) renters pay a cleaning fee of $165/week. Performed weekly, by the owner's housekeeper, each cleaning includes laundering of linens (beds, towels).
