Welcome to our updated South Lake Tahoe condo located at Bavarian Villages. BV condos were built in the 60's and since 2010 we have done the following upgrades: replaced oven and stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, tile flooring in kitchen, remodeled master bath and updates to guest bathroom. Replaced old inefficient wood fireplace with a gas stand alone fireplace. Other furniture additions create a comfortable and spacious interior. Yet rustic touches with lots of charms. In 2018 the TV was replaced with a Samsung 55" Smart TV, so connect your device and watch your shows.

Unit is conveniently on the first floor and at the rear of the complex. This provides easy in/out for baggage and a quiet location within the Bavarian Village complex.
3 Bedrooms, 2 full Baths and full size Kitchen/Dining Room and Family room. 1200 sq Ft.
Gas fireplace with thermostat controls installed in the family room along with New forced air heater for the bedrooms allows for comfortable days and nights.
Kitchen has brand new-state of the art appliances including; full size oven/stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee machine and blender.
Internet is now available for individual Bavarian Village units and I just replaced the old TV with a new 55" Samsung Smart TV.
2 Bedrooms are equipped with queen size beds and 3rd with two twins.
Master bedroom has a view of Gunbarrel run on the face of Heavenly ski resort.
Master bath has been exquisitely updated with all new shower, vanity and sinks.
All new linens and plush towels.

5 Minute Drive to Heavenly Ski Resort. Conveniently located between Highway 50 and Pioneer Trail, only a few blocks from Ski Run Blvd. A short walk to the good food and beer at the Brewery at Lake Tahoe
Premises includes Pool/outdoor Hot Tub and laundry facilities.
Rates are as follows: (2 night minimum).
Cleaning Fee of $140 is NOT included in prices.
For a group of only 2, cleaning fee is $80.
Rates do NOT include the 10% occupancy tax.
Save money as all rentals are directly from unit owner.
No extra management fees.
A minimum 50% deposit is due upon booking. This is 100% refundable with more than 60 days advance notice from check in date or 100% may be applied to other rental dates.
Deposit is 50% refundable from 59-7 days advance notice from check in date.
Balance due one week prior to check in. Any cancellation within one week of check in date is subject to no refund.

About David Gittelman & Natalia Sanchez
The condo has been in Julie's family for nearly 40 years. Julie resides in Key West, Florida and once upon a time lived in the condo. Now she spends most of her time sailing a Top Sail Schooner and looking forward to her annual pilgrimage to her condo. I have known Julie for over 20 years and we have become family and I now own the condo with her. I was living in California and using the condo regularly, but now I spend most of my time living in Costa Rica. Pura Vida. But I miss my time at the condo.

As I mentioned this was the family retreat for Julie's family for 40 years. It has provided them with so many memorable escapes from the likes of Minnesota and Florida. It has been their mountain retreat, surrounded by grandeur, peace and serenity. I enjoy it for the outdoor recreation and the social fun. Right outside the door is great skiing and endless mountain bike riding. Two of my favorite activities.

Good size and layout but a few frustrating issues.
Good layout and plenty of room. Heat good but very dry. Needs humidifier on furnace. Real issues were inaccurate description of two things. Firstly the t.V. which is described as " newer" is not h.d. and not new at all. Picture is fuzzy. Unwatchable really. Tried watching the winter Olympics while on stay and the picture made it look like the 1980 Olympics. Would not remark on this if description wouldn't have said " newer flat screen t.v.". Other issue was newly installed fireplace. It may be newly installed but was not NEW. First of all the pilot light was not lit. Followed all instructions to light it and it would not stay on for more than 5 minutes. I contacted the owner and the property manager several times and attempted troubleshooting it myself. Remote control for the fireplace was missing and not found until the last day of vacation. We went on a search through the whole condo looking for it. We looked under every bed and under the couches and in the cushions. Which let us 2 find an amazing amount of dirt and debris. I am not a clean freak or germaphobe but it was pretty gross and a little Annoying that you are charged a cleaning fee and the unit is not very clean. And actually when we got there it was some nasty goop in the dishwasher that we cleaned out ourselves. Property manager eventually showed up to troubleshoot to fireplace which is gas but was in disrepair and needed to be cleaned so that the pilot light would stay lit. Having said all this we did actually enjoy the stay and those weren't super horrible things but having said all that and having contacted the owner I was not even offered a refund on the cleaning fee. So overall we liked the unit but we're unhappy with a few annoying issues. Probably would not stay here again because of those. Too many good options in Southlake to possibly spend a vacation in a state of mild annoyance
Upon arrival guests notified me of issues/concerns.
The fireplace was serviced and worked fine after the property manager cleaned the pilot assembly. These items are regularly serviced, but sometimes need extra attention. Unfortunately, the previous guests had lost the remote control for the fireplace. This was found when the TV was replaced, so it somehow fell behind the furniture. It is now functioning as always.
South Lake Tahoe is an extremely dry environment, but humidifiers are not very common regardless. This is the first request I have received for such.
I replaced the TV the day after their stay with a new Samsung 55" Smart TV. Client is correct, it was time.
As for cleaning, the items mentioned were related to finding debris underneath sofa cushions in the corners, and under furniture which is not moved for regular in between guest cleanings, while searching for remote. I schedule 2 deep cleanings a year in between the high seasons of Winter and Summer. So next month we will perform that. I regularly remind the cleaning service to pay attention to details, but we do have a lot of turnover this time of year and do our best to make sure all is in order. I issue cleaning refunds when appropriate as unfortunately the cleaning service may have missed an item related to linens, not having condo ready on time or kitchen not being in order.. But from other reviews you can see that the condo is always prepared and clean upon guests arrival and I strive to address hidden areas in the off-season when services have more time.
I appreciate the feedback and always strive to address concerns. Fireplace is functioning fine and had been as no other guests complained and the TV is brand new now. I will modify my listing so there is no further confusion.

Clean, Cozy, Great Location
Ground Floor at the end of the road. Close to everything in South Lake Tahoe. Would definitely stay here again. Everything about it was easy.

Very cozy home away from home
Very cozy and comfortable feel. We loved the fireplace and warm colors in the apartment. Towels were thick and fluffy! Aside from the elementary school next door, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Great location close to downtown which made it really easy to go to the lake or park, come back to change, and then go right back out to go shopping etc. There were a few things, however, that prevented us from giving this rental a full 5-star review.
Kitchen utensils were old and could be replaced; needs a full set of essentials (measuring cups/spoons and cutting board) to make it a real working kitchen. The sponge to clean our dishes was old and ragged from previous use. Rental was lacking paper towels, napkins, and tissues and the place mats were dirty upon our arrival. Lamp in bedroom is broken and some working nightlights would have been really helpful for our little-one. Aside from these grievances we really enjoyed our time at this rental and would absolutely come here again and recommend it for other travelers staying in South Lake Tahoe.

The cleaning service had informed me they needed to restock paper towels, tissues, etc however evidently they did not stock condo prior to your stay. I will follow up with them. And usually there are extra sponges underneath the sink as they have to be replaced frequently. So that is too bad.
I will also see if the large butcher block cutting board which I leave on the counter top has been removed or placed somewhere you may not have found it.
Otherwise I am glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope you can stay with us again.
